Be honest... do you think being a size 10 is more attractive than a size 14?

Just that... no offence intended it's just to settle an argument I'm interested in people's views. Let's say specifically you have an average / reasonably attractive looking woman of average height, do you think she will look better as a size 10 than she does a 14?

I definitely agree that height makes a big difference. At 5’5”, size 14 wouldn’t suit me. Someone who was 5’ 10” with long legs and curves could get away with more weight.

NiceandCalm · 13/01/2021 22:22

I had been a size 10 for most of my life, at 5.5 and a boyish figure. I put on weight and went upto a large size 14. Now got down to a size 12 which I'm really happy with. I don't think I'd want to be a size 10 now, as I feel more feminine with a few curves and still in proportion.
A pear shape puts on weight around their hips, so extra weight and being short, defo a size 10 would be better and healthier.

LickEmbysmiling · 13/01/2021 22:22

I can only speak for myself, currently 14, much much better, feel, look better at size 10

Yoshinori · 13/01/2021 22:23

yes

wizzywig · 13/01/2021 22:23

My boobs and bum look amazing size 14, the rest of me looks better at a size 10

Canyoncall · 13/01/2021 22:23

What's does a "reasonably attractive" woman mean OP?

Theimpossiblegirl · 13/01/2021 22:24

I'm a 12-14.
I'm happy as I am and think if I dropped a dress size I would look worse, as I bet I'd just lose from my face and boobs.
(I'm 45, this may not be the case for younger women).

HOS8595 · 13/01/2021 22:24

Yes a size 10 looks better then a size 14.

springiscoming12 · 13/01/2021 22:25

Yes - and to be honest I think a size 6/8 is even better. Sorry

peboh · 13/01/2021 22:27

I think that's a body type/ height thing though for sure. A friend of mine is 5ft9 and dropped from a 10 to a 6 after a bad breakup and she just looked extremely poorly. All bones. She's now between an 8 and 10 depending on where she shops and looks great, but due to her height could easily pull off a 12 and if anything look better for it.
Xmasbaby11 · 13/01/2021 22:27

Yes, size 10 is slim, so looks good unless the woman is very tall.

Simonstrousers · 13/01/2021 22:28

Honestly, yes. I’ve been both and for me I look much better as a size 10

amysaurus87 · 13/01/2021 22:29

I've been everything from a 6 to a 16...I look ill as a 6 and I don't like how I look as a 16. I'm currently a 14.

My happy place is a 10.

I think a lot of it depends how and where you carry the weight, mine is all fac, belly and thighs so I think I look awful as a 14. I'm much much happier as a 10.

TheBuffster · 13/01/2021 22:29

It really depends on the person.
I have a friend who looks I'll at size 10.
I was a size 10 before ds pregnancy. I'm now a 14 and it is not a good look on me ( I'm tall and a bit gangly normally, so just look bloated and odd).

Autumn101 · 13/01/2021 22:30

It depends - I feel a lot better as a 14 than I did as a 10. I have huge boobs and they look far more in proportion at a 14 than they did when I was smaller!

Flippy87 · 13/01/2021 22:32

Yes, being thin can be a mixed blessing when you’re older. My BIL is very slim and muscular, but his face has become lined and sort of caved in now he’s early 50’s. He needs abit of padding, tbh.🤣

One of my female friends is similar, she’s v. slim and fit but her face is drawn-looking. I think she’d look better with a few more pounds.

4Mongrels · 13/01/2021 22:35

I'm 5'7 hourglass. As a 14 I think I look overweight even though it's evenly spread! I look much better as a 10 although prefer the fullness of my boobs when I'm bigger.

I felt much healthier (probably because I was) when I was a 10 and had much more energy.

As a 14 I am also in the overweight BMI category.

oneglassandpuzzled · 13/01/2021 22:36

I would be fat at s14 as I am 5’7.5“

At s10 I am not thin. In Paris I would be considered At the Limit.

Cam2020 · 13/01/2021 22:36

It completely depends on bone struture and shape but for me, yes, I look better as a size 10. I'm very tall though with a medium bone structure and I feel like the Honey Monster as it is at the moment as a flabby 12. I prefer to be lean and strong.

BritInAus · 13/01/2021 22:38

This is an incredibly depressing thread! Can a woman only be considered within the realms of size 10-14?

As a gay woman, I have to say I've found size 10 women unattractive and size 18 women gorgeous. And vice versa. A confident, gorgeous woman is so much more than her dress size or weight.

Funny how different body shapes are. I'm 5 8 and not overweight at a size 14, and look great and nicely slim at a size 10.

What Parisians think doesn't concern me though!

roarfeckingroarr · 13/01/2021 22:41

Yes 100%

Welshgal85 · 13/01/2021 22:41

I personally prefer to be a bit curvier and have always been a 14, I don’t think being size 10 would suit me at all. I think it depends on your body shape, height etc and how you feel in yourself. I think it’s interesting our culture does tend to equate smaller sizes as better than others, why? It didn’t always used to be that way. Aslong as you are happy and healthy I think it doesn’t matter 😊

dreaming174 · 13/01/2021 22:43

Yes.
