Be honest... do you think being a size 10 is more attractive than a size 14?

Just that... no offence intended it's just to settle an argument I'm interested in people's views. Let's say specifically you have an average / reasonably attractive looking woman of average height, do you think she will look better as a size 10 than she does a 14?

We all carry weight differently. I'm 5'8 but small boned and look huge with a BMI of 23.
My ideal BMI is 19, that's where I look best, but that's tantamount to having an eating disorder on MN. Whereas being the top end of BMI is always healthy 🙄

Notmoreuodates5 · 19/01/2021 19:00

Bottom end of BMI is always worrying because there’s not much Lea way to start with BMI. If your BMI is in range your quite slim. This is not just opinion it’s what hospitals go by too and they would usually do a referral if your BMI is too low.

I think that different women can have a different natural structure. Some women are naturally slim and look beautiful with it, some women are naturally curvy and look beautiful with it. So, I'm not going to answer your question directly OP, as I think the best look is the one that is more natural to them. Most importantly, as long as it's within the bounds of being healthy.

almost all the women seemed to choose the women with the prettiest faces, regardless of size or shape, but almost unanimously, the men chose the skinniest women, regardless of their faces

Same - I was part of an online discussion if you'd prefer a partner with pretty face and so-so body, or great body and so-so face. All women chose face, all men went for body. Weirdos.

@PurpleDaisies

Size 14 isn’t automatically overweight *@Indoctro*. I could put two and a half stone on and still be a healthy BMI. I’m pretty sure would take me to a 14. It’s a big range.
I'm 5ft 10 , and 14 stone so 3 stone overweight and I'm a 14 and definitely overweight

I'm not sure how anyone can be a 14 and not be overweight

Maybe if there like 6ft 2 or something but I'm pretty tall and still definitely quite a bit overweight

I think some of that is macho posturing though. You can tell just from looking around that beautiful fat women (as long as they're not extremely fat) have an easier time finding a man than ugly, slim women.

Also, you can't really do a comparison between men and women's attitudes on this as an overweight woman is more akin to a short man than an overweight man when it comes to attractiveness. Height is a big thing for women who are looking for men. It's not like women only focus on the face.

Honestly yes always

Agree - I’m 177cm, so think that’s between 5’9” and 5’10”.

I am overweight at a size 14.

Not saying some people won’t carry it well - a lucky few do. I’m definitely not one of them, in spite of my height.

TheOneLeggedJockey

I can be a 14 and a healthy weight, I'm very pear shaped with enormous hips (bone structure) which spread in pregnancy and never went back. So I can have a BMI of 23 and be 14.
