The second film was a crime against humanity so I'm surprised they wanted to revive it. It's a shame Samantha won't be in the new series, she was the most fun and stole every scene. I admire her bravery in refusing to continue, the pressure to conform and go along with it must have been intense.

I will still watch it, despite SATC2 making me want to claw my own eyes out. Is it testament to how dated the show is that we're all mulling over which character has died? (I think Big will have croaked it!)

I'm definitely going to watch it - AND I agree with every word Kermode said about the 2nd film

All of the series and both films is hideous consumerism - Kermode is quite right that Bigs apartment is so big and expensive he'd have to be an arms dealer - I reckon the apartment is worth about £30 million

But I still love the escapism and the stupidly expensive clothes I will never wear 🤷‍♀️

Embarrassed to admit that I would check it out. I loved Sam's character so I hope she's not dead. My favourite as far as actual acting goes was Cynthia Nixon (Miranda).

I think it's I'll be about leaving NYC. Charlotte and Harry will be living elsewhere doing humanitarian work Miranda will be a single parent to a transitioning Brady. Carrie and Big will be dealing with old age in their self centred way.

They all end up in NY for Samantha's funeral and try to reconnect but struggle. Ends with Carrie moving to Paris to work with Emily.

I've been rewatching from scratch (thank you lockdown) and yes some parts have aged pretty horribly (similar to Friends..) but I've re-loved every single episode, watching through the rose-tinted goggles of nostalgia. When I heard about the reboot I was initially excited at the prospect, but now I'm coming to the end of season 6 I feel in my heart of hearts that some things should be left be, and this is probably one of them..

Cold Feet was great in the first series where they rebooted it. It's nice to think the characters in these shows are out there and we can catch up occasionally. I'll be sad if Samantha is no more though.

The Friends reunion is just a chat show type thing isn't it? Frasier was also mooted to return I think.

Post wake margaritas they reminisce about the single life. Ch&M tell Carrie how jealous they are of her having no kids, writing for Vogue and being the most stylish woman in Manhattan.
Feeling blessed Carrie gets back to her mega apartment with big. As she ditzily unpacks and tells him about how everyone in Florida has fake tits, he interrupts.
Carrie, we need to talk. He closes a door and Natasha is standing there, eyebrow raised. Guess what? Big Jr - or not-so-big as Carrie will call him - is in tow.

Carrie will agonise over the stroppy teenage son. She'll probs fall out with Ch and M at some point over it. But no doubt she'll discover that he is gay and being the one dimensional show it is he is also fabulous.

Oh also to keep it topical - Miranda will have her own law firm and that someone will come in accusing Harry of sexual harassment (the show will handle #metoo v badly)

Carrie will don a Dior facemask and will come up against anti maskers. At some point she will ask "I couldn't help but wonder... Aren't we all just wearing a mask?"

I can hear her in my head saying all of those things. I would totally watch this remake! I mean I’ll probably hatewatch it anyway even if it’s terrible

Wild horses couldn’t stop me from watching it! The second movie is fucking dreadful, the show hasn’t aged well and Carrie is an arsehole but I still love to rewatch it every now and then. The episode where Miranda’s mum dies still gets me. The scene where she shouts at the sales assistant, then with Aidan and Steven turn up at the funeral

The Gilmore Girls reboot was Not Great so I’m wary about bringing things back.

i am ambivalent (just thought of that long posh word) about kim catrall being killed off. she was a painfully awful guest on graham norton years ago and i think she disappeared up her own arse so it would be difficult to fish her out from the dark recess of her bowels to bring her back.

i loved satc and always wanted those massive checked curtains that sjp had in her apartment.

I find Carrie so awful I would have rather SJP decline than KC! Remember thinking she was a self absorbed woman never there for her friends just talking about herself sexing someone's husband. Then I caught the film and it confirmed it for me!
