Handhold DH heading to ICU covid

DH went to hospital yesterday for breathing issues. We’ve been unwell for a few days and we’re already awaiting covid tests.

Just been told he’s taken a turn and is heading to ICU. He is ECV and we’ve been so careful, we’ve not been out except to the supermarket, and we’ve avoided seeing anyone.

I’m just so worried and I know the next few days will be critical

Thanks for the update op. That sounds stable and that's the best we can ask. They seem to be using hi flow more this time round and with good effect I understand.

I’ve managed to make dinner! Which is an achievement which has left me exhausted 😂

No change for DH. He’s back on CPAP. They are keeping him on that for the majority of the time but they are also using high flow in short bursts and also to give his face a break from the masks.

Good you’ve made dinner. I hope you manage to eat some of it too and that you can get some sleep tonight.

Not a positive update this evening. Although DH was coping on CPAP, his oxygen requirements are still increasing. They’ve discussed ventilation today. I’m panicking (understatement) and DH is quite against it at the moment.

Kidney filtration has helped but his oxygen saturation is poor. I have a feeling it’s going to be a long night. Shame as the children have to be up for school tomorrow.

Ok. Not the update we'd all been hoping for. But we're here for you throughout tonight if you need us.
And maybe don't set the alarm. Sod's law means you'll be having the best sleep when it goes off. Drop an email to school. They'll want to support you and the children. Just join in learning when you all can. You need to get better too.

So sorry things haven't improved. Hope there is better news overnight.
