Handhold DH heading to ICU covid

DH went to hospital yesterday for breathing issues. We’ve been unwell for a few days and we’re already awaiting covid tests.

Just been told he’s taken a turn and is heading to ICU. He is ECV and we’ve been so careful, we’ve not been out except to the supermarket, and we’ve avoided seeing anyone.

I’m just so worried and I know the next few days will be critical

So sorry to read your update Op. Sending you strength and love. Glad you have your mum for support. People beat the odds all the time and your DH can too - praying and keeping everything crossed for you.

@Wardrobes123 you got it. It's uncomfortable at best to go through the intubation, not something to put someone through unnecessarily. Your DH will have been sedated and given analgesia to get through it.
At the same time, it sounds like the doctors are warning you to expect the worst. Either way you (and he) are in for a really tough ride. I'm so sorry you are both going through this.

I have absolutely everything crossed for you and just wanted to send you all so much love. There is a massive group of people here willing to support you should you want/need it. Please don’t feel like you have to update us, but should you want to, we’re here x

I’ve read your posts and I’m so sorry to see your latest update. I really hope things take a turn for the better and he pulls through. We are right here with you. Hoping and praying all I can that your DH makes a recovery from this.

So sorry. Have heard of people surviving when there seemed not much hope. Hope the ventilator helps his body to rest and he will turn a corner xxx

I have worked on ITU, and I want to flag up to you that where there is life there is hope.

He'll be so very tired, ITU is extraordinarily hard. But, anyone who has worked there knows that people do turn around, the ones you thought were the most poorly can be the ones that surprise you.

@Wardrobes123 I have been reading the whole thread but not commented - we have recently been in a similar position with mum who did sadly pass away and my heart goes out to you at this time.

Hoping against hope that your DH does get better, please do not feel like you have to keep us updated, as and when you can xx
