Handhold DH heading to ICU covid

DH went to hospital yesterday for breathing issues. We’ve been unwell for a few days and we’re already awaiting covid tests.

Just been told he’s taken a turn and is heading to ICU. He is ECV and we’ve been so careful, we’ve not been out except to the supermarket, and we’ve avoided seeing anyone.

I’m just so worried and I know the next few days will be critical

People beat the odds all the time, OP. There's still plenty of reason to hope. I hope you don't mind, but you're both in my prayers.

So very sorry to hear your latest update. You and your family are in my thoughts, and I pray for a good outcome.

Nothing to say of any use but I have just read your thread and felt a tiny fraction of your anguish and anxiety. I’m pleased to have had here to off-load and vent. I am so very sorry about your DH, we sound similar ages and my kids are only a bit younger. How you are coping with a business too, I don’t know - you must have so much strength.

Whatever happens, I hope you have lots of support in real life too. Sending strength & lots of empathy. He sounds a trooper to get this far so he has fought as hard as he could. I hope for a good outcome.

There's still a chance. He would not have been ventilated otherwise. Hold on to some hope.

@StrugglingICUnurse - this is what I’m holding on to. If there was no chance then they wouldn’t have vented him at all would they? They are proning him to try and get his lungs working.

@Hugoslavia - your list was very helpful. I’ve got access to funds and also have notified family and friends.

It’s incredibly difficult and I wish I could say I was coping but I’m not. The not knowing is making the anxiety much worse.

My mum has been to support me today to help with the house and the children as I just don’t have the energy to function. I’m so fraught physically and emotionally.

I'm so sorry to read your latest update @Wardrobes123 The hospital will give him the best care they can. I know we can't do much but we're here if you want to talk and just need a space to vent your thoughts.
