Handhold DH heading to ICU covid

DH went to hospital yesterday for breathing issues. We’ve been unwell for a few days and we’re already awaiting covid tests.

Just been told he’s taken a turn and is heading to ICU. He is ECV and we’ve been so careful, we’ve not been out except to the supermarket, and we’ve avoided seeing anyone.

I’m just so worried and I know the next few days will be critical

I am so sorry @Wardrobes123. Your thread was the first I checked when I came back on and my heart was in my mouth when I saw the last few posts in TIO.

I really feel your thread should be forced on those stupid people who keep thinking they are allowed to bend the rules, break them openly or just think like idiots.

I am really devastated for you and your family. If there is anything any of us can do, please ask. Most of us on this thread are here for genuine support and want to help.

While he is here there is hope and we all send hope in abundance .

I want to give you hope OP, doctors are not always blessed with huge optimism. Our teen we were told wouldn't survive a brain injury, one year later they are at college and slowly recovering. Don't lose hope x

Just before Christmas 2019 my DM was diagnosed with cancer and was given two months to live. She's still here now. A different situation I know, but every individual reacts differently to treatments and doctors can be quite pessimistic in my experience.

I really hope there's a positive change soon

Hang on to hope OP. We reached this point (head injury) in ICU and got through it. It can happen.

The worst things are usually presented to you first.

It is best (for health professionals not for relatives/patients) to warn of the worst outcome first.

It is easy to tell people that things are going to be better than the outlined outcome.
