What is your glasses 👓 prescription?

Mine is +1.50 in one eye and +0.75 in the other with astigmatism as well. I've always been prescribed glasses but rarely wear them to be honest but recently struggling a bit reading some labels on jars etc....my job is mainly a practical job with just a small amount of computer work.

Would you wear them with this low prescription?

Mine are -1.00 in both eyes.

Maybe wouldn't wear them all the time with this prescription but also have -2.50 astigmatism in both eyes so can't even read the biggest letter on the test 🤣

dementedpixie · 01/01/2021 19:06

My prescription is similar and its so much easier to read my phone, kindle, etc with my glasses on. I dont wear them all the time, just when reading

I could nearly all the lines with one eye but not the last 3 with one Grin

I've just got to try not to lose them!! I've ordered a pair this time around so need to try and remember to have them on me!

A + means long sighted so glasses can be required for close work
A - means short sighted so might need glasses for distance work

ETgo · 01/01/2021 19:11

Mine are -3.25 in one eye with an astigmatism and -8.25 in the other 😮

I wear contacts as I find glasses generally uncomfortable and because of the huge difference between my eyes i feel like I have to move my whole head rather than just my eyes as if they accidentally look out the other lens it’s carnage!

itsme · 01/01/2021 19:12

-6.75 in one eye
-7.25 in the other
Also an astigmatism in both.

She said I was long sighted But I do have some (-) numbers as well as the (+) she said it doesn't mean I'm short sighted as well but I have slight astigmatism as well?

+10.5 and +10 with astigmatism. I feel like I'm as blind as a bat without my specs on. They are the first thing I put on in a morning and the last thing I take off at night.

maverickallthetime · 01/01/2021 19:13

-7 and -7.5
Hate it, wear daily contacts. Need to choose some new frames as the ones I have age me by about 20 years!

NatashaAlianovaRomanova · 01/01/2021 19:14

I'm +6.5 & +6.75 with astigmatism - I can't even go for a pee in the middle of the night without putting my specs on.

murbblurb · 01/01/2021 19:14

why not wear them if they mean that you see better?

dementedpixie · 01/01/2021 19:17

What size is your astigmatism?

SisterAgatha · 01/01/2021 19:18

-6.5 in both, astigmatism in the left. Used to keep a spare pair at work because if I broke the pair I was wearing, I’d be too blind to get home on the tube Confused

Wow, that's very high!

Plus I was -7 until last year when I noticed a HUGE difference in my eyesight and just knew my prescription had changed. So a .5 difference is certainly noticeable enough let alone your prescription. I’d wear them. If you had a car crash, you’d have no leg to stand on either.

I was told I don't need them for driving.

-3.00 in left eye -2.50 in right eye with astigmatism in both eyes and a prism for double vision. these are my distance glasses. i also have reading glasses which are +3.00 for both eyes with a stronger prism than for my distance glasses. it gets complicated ordering glasses lol

StopMakingATitOfUrselfNPissOff · 01/01/2021 19:49

-9.75 blind as anything. Can’t even stand up without glasses/contacts.
I wear contacts 99% of the time

LondonStone · 01/01/2021 19:55

My eyesight is the worst of anyone I know in real life but not as bad as some here! 😱 It’s -4.50 and -4.75.

DH is -0.75 in both eyes and is always muttering about his “bad eyesight” which makes me laugh. Imagine being able to see when you wake up in the morning!

Turnedouttoes · 01/01/2021 19:56

I’m -1.75 and -3.5 but I feel like they’ve got worse recently so probably due an eye test.
I really need to invest in some glasses I actually like. I got some cheap ones from Glasses Direct for when I’m not wearing contacts and they’re so flimsy, the quality is terrible.

I’m the same! Could have written it exactly as you have! Rare to read of someone with the same prescription.

Yogaposer · 01/01/2021 19:59

It's been a while since I had mine done, does "blind as a bat" count? Grin

june2007 · 01/01/2021 20:05

Not sure but i think it is different to what I m wearing, not seen optician for a while. I also now meant to have reading glasses but lost them in france a couple of years ago.

NatashaAlianovaRomanova · 01/01/2021 20:07

@LondonStone I always thought I was bad but DD2 is +11.5 in her left eye with astigmatism & a severe squint.
