Takeaway trouble tonight!

Anyone else? I ordered a take away at 7 pm and delivery time was 8.40pm! Still waiting now, can’t get through to restaurant nor just eat. Just had a text from restaurant saying they’re really busy food will be here at half 10. I don’t want to eat at half ten and I’ve been drinking so I can’t go and get something and haven’t got any nice food in. Now I’m kicking myself that I didn’t have it delivered yesterday as of course the whole country are having takeaways tonight.

We picked ours up at 6.30 this evening. So glad we did!

Ours had a 2-3 hr wait

I went to them in person to cancel the order (as not picking up the phone)

That is why we had Chinese last night and ordered enough for leftovers tonight. It was always going to be carnage tonight!

I don’t know! My brain obviously wasn’t engaged when I decided to get a takeaway doh. Still not here I have cereal in the cupboard 😭

We ordered ours two hours before it opened. Delivery was supposed to be at 6.40 and arrived at 8.20. The restaurant wasn't answering their phone. Best thing is to report that it's late through the Just Eat app, it might be a coincidence but ours arrived 30 minutes after we did that. It is lockdown NYE though so everyone is going to be in the same boat. I pity the delivery people this evening.

We had a takeaway tonight. It took an hour to come, which was the estimated time, and was brilliant

Everywhere we tried was busy! Couldn't get Thai or Chinese and had to settle for Indian :(

We ordered a take out at 5.30 and it was busy then, 1 hour wait and took ages to get through. I'm glad we didn't order later.

The local fb pages are full of people slagging off businesses for this issue. I think it was pretty obvious they would be manic. I got nice food in to cook instead!

We ordered at 6.30, told 90 min wait but arrived at around 7.30. We got lucky I think.

Unfortunately I'm not surprised this has happened. I've had good luvk with refunds when the food is super late or doesn't come. Get in touch with just eat tomorrow or at the weekend.

We went last night, ordered in the shop, 20 min wait.
Those phoning orders in were told an hour.
It was manic!

I didn't think of the chaos it would be tonight and had to drive round 4 different places before I found one that was still taking orders, this was 7pm.
It wasn't even that nice in the end 😕

Had takeaway here tonight, was very nice and came within the hour so was well happy with it!
You must have just been unlucky

Ordered at about 4 for delivery between 7 and 8. It arrived at about 7.20. Happy days! I’m still stuffed so no treats for me yet :(

Yeah we had this issue with Pizza Hut. Ordered it at 6:30 for collection, she said it would be ready to collect in half an hour so drove down to find a queue of 25 people outside (no exaggeration). Called them to ask whether it was ready only to be told it wouldn’t be ready for another 20 minutes. Didn’t risk driving down a second time so called after 20 mins to make sure it was ready, it was not. Waited another half an hour till it had been 2 hours in total and they said they’d run out of bases Hmm.

Ended up cancelling it and ordered one from a local take away, it turned up within half an hour.

Papa Johns had ours here within the hour and just checked my emails and they've emailed a £5 gift voucher too because of the delay.

We ordered for 6.45 and it was delivered at 6! Think they were trying to get ahead before the rush.

I was checking their web page regularly until they opened for orders and got in there asap... we are very low on food!!
