What's everyone doing this evening?

DH reckons we're going to drink some of the mulled wine I bought to share with friends (outside) and now can't. We've got some spring rolls, samosas in so may have them and mulled wine late afternoon. Later M&S ready meals, cheesecake, prosecco. Afterwards a game or crash out in front of tv. DH will no doubt have a drink to see the New Year in, but I'll have had enough alcohol by that point.

Similar. A local restaurant is offering collect and heat at home dishes, so we’ve ordered a meze from them, we’ll pick it up this afternoon. Fizzy wine is in the fridge, shandy for DS. I’ll suggest a board game and some cheesy music.

Kljnmw3459 · 31/12/2020 10:54

We're doing a tapas style dinner just between ourselves. Then TV until we see some countdown and fireworks on screen. Then fall asleep in front of the TV. That's the plan.

Sober4Summer20 · 31/12/2020 10:56

Family quiz on zoom, board games, m&s dinner and a bit of telly. Doubt we will make it to midnight xx

wendz86 · 31/12/2020 10:57

Having pizza , garlic dough balls and onion rings with kids . Will be having prosecco and the kids drinks of their choice and snacks and playing games and things. See if kids manage to make it to midnight.

PurpleDaisies · 31/12/2020 10:58

Pizza, garlic bread, posh olives, salad and wine plus a film.

ApolloandDaphne · 31/12/2020 10:58

I bought some nice food from Marks so DH and I will have that then relax by the fire and listen to music and have a few drinks. I am not sure we will stay up though. We are not good at staying awake beyond 10.30!

nevernotstruggling · 31/12/2020 10:58

Getting dominoes - playing our nee crystal maze board game. It's just dp and I and the dds who are 11 and 8. It's what we would have done anyway I like my kids home at nye. We might go to the zoo tomorrow if it's open.

ILiveInSalemsLot · 31/12/2020 11:04

Ordering a take away, then Watch films with snacks.
We’ll go somewhere green for a walk and hot choc and try to fly a big polystyrene plane dh got to play with dcs.

InTheseUncertainTimes · 31/12/2020 11:06

Staying in, just DH and I. We'll drink the last of the holiday wine, eat some cheese and crackers, maybe watch some recorded telly (assuming there's nothing on tonight) or do some gaming together. I've been up since 4.30, so not sure if I'll even try to stay up til midnight.

LemonBreeland · 31/12/2020 11:06

We have 3 DC aged 17-9, so an evening of board games and maybe a film later on.

Horehound · 31/12/2020 11:07

A nice restaurant near me has made up Hogmanay boxes so I've ordered one as a surprise to DH. Once baby is bathed and in bed we can cook it and have some champers.
Doubt we will stay up for the bells though

badlydrawnbear · 31/12/2020 11:07

Going to work.

edwinbear · 31/12/2020 11:11

Chinese takeaway and TV. DC will no doubt be glued to their screens. DH will have a drink, I don’t think I will, I’ve had enough booze this Christmas. It will be the first time in many years that I have a clear head on NYD!

Champagneforeveryone · 31/12/2020 11:13

Working, I've been on leave since Christmas Eve so it will be a bit of a shock!

chaosisaladder · 31/12/2020 11:15

DH is frontline services so he’s working until the wee hours - so it’ll be me and the kids cuddled up in bed probably watching fucking trolls again

blue25 · 31/12/2020 11:23

We’re doing beef wellington & pavlova for dinner. Cocktails & bubbly while watching a film/playing games.

disneyprincess87 · 31/12/2020 11:27

First time I haven't had my daughter with me over NYE so keeping busy with cleaning and jobs around the house before I reward myself with some TV. (I know it's just another day but the whole symbolic message gets me being single 🥺).

YewandOak · 31/12/2020 11:28

Same as every evening.

Tea (whatever is in the fridge or freezer) Tidy up,candles lit,pjs on,potter about online/play Sims 4.Drink many mugs of tea/hot chocolates and then bed when I'm tired.

81Byerley · 31/12/2020 11:36

Roast dinner then TV.

Reedwarbler · 31/12/2020 11:45

We've got haggis, neeps and tatties, but washed down with wine or beer, not scotch. Then probably a film. I usually fall asleep before midnight being a lightweight.
I am hoping there won't be many or any fireworks because they terrify my dog.

LongPauseNoAnswer · 31/12/2020 11:48

We’ve got raclette and steak for dinner. We’ll start that early because we’re filling up on cheese. We’ve got a movie lined up and will probably be in bed by 10pm Grin

Moonflower12 · 31/12/2020 12:02

DP is on a night shift as a paramedic. He's hoping everyone is going to follow the rules.

DD and I will watch telly and I'll stay up to message grown up children at midnight and DP.

We normally would be in West Wales with my mum who is in her 80s. So a very different time, this year.

SconeofDome · 31/12/2020 12:04

Takeaway and family games night, everyone chooses a game and we have to play it, then probably watch a bit of Jools Holland and some ropey karaoke. We've done this for the past couple of years and all enjoy it so no difference for us, despite being in tier 4. My mum will be joining us as we're her support bubble. I'm thinking of getting dressed up too, haven't been glam for ages so fancy putting a face and something sparkly on.

Superstardjs · 31/12/2020 12:07

Beige party food from M&S with champagne and a film before Jools.

Laurendelight · 31/12/2020 12:12

Dress up, have our buffet, drink lots of cocktails and prosecco, play bingo with prizes, watch Freddie Mercury to bring in new year while eating cheese board. Maybe a film after.
