Ode to my Shark Vacuum cleaner - how do I hate thee? Let me count the ways

Is it because you block every time I use you. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Is it because even after spending 20 minutes unblocking you, then vacuuming after, you block again and spew everything out all over the floor the moment I switch you off, and I then have to do the unblocking rigmarole all over again.

Is it because you block not in one place but in three places, which can take multiple implements and 20 minutes to unblock.

Is it because the brushes are so harsh they have considerably hastened the need to replace the hall and stairs carpet.

Do not do what I did last year on a mumsnet recommendation and get one in the sales, I nearly launched ours out my bedroom window this afternoon.

I’ve recently bought a cordless , anti hair wrap Shark after my Dyson blew its motor yet again and is now out of guarantee. Love it so far. Ds and I both have very long hair, plus a dog and a parrot, and it’s not blocked up once (the Dyson would’ve needed detangling several times by now). Battery life seems good and it’s coping with both carpets and hard floors really well. I’m pretty impressed with in it comparison to the Dyson.

Love my corded Shark, much better than Vax cordless. Best buy ever.

I spoke too soon - my Shark has suddenly decided that hair is for wrapping all around the bloody brush Angry

I am in love with mine OP.

Best vacuum I have ever had, the anti hair wrap is pure genius, cordless, awesome machine.

I've now got a Harry. You cannot beat his suction. He is awesome. Made me realise that you just can't beat a corded hoover for suction. Harry takes no prisoners, if you're in his path then you're down the hatch!

I am giving the useless piece of crap Shark to my mum. I've told her it's shit but she's willing to give it a go.

Poor Mum 😭

Lol I see this thread has been brought back to life. But you can never moan enough about these arsehole vacuums. On the plus side the wanker is still going strong after 10 years! That's not bad mind you 10 years of crying cursing and taking the thing apart to remove the one tiny speck of dust that's giving it a heart attack.
