What do you put in your toastie?

We received a toastie maker as a family gift for Christmas. So far we’ve only tried ham and cheese or tuna and cheese and I’m keen to try out some other ideas.
What’s your best toastie recipe?

@TheChosenTwo

Oh for fuck sake I’ve just ordered a bloody sandwich toaster! We had one years ago but had to throw it out because we couldn’t work out how to clean the greasy cheese out of the spring at the back and it started to go crusty! Do they still get manky?! I can’t bloody wait, the dc are going to be over the moon Grin
You can get them now where the plates pop out and you can stick them in the dish washer!

Strong Cheddar and salsa.
Brie and pear slices.
Peanut butter and banana.
Mozzarella, tomato and fresh basil.
Cheese and pineapple.

Corned beef and cheddar is my favourite, ill only do ham if its smoked otherwise it loses flavour when heated. Nutella and banana works well also. Got to go and unearth the toaster now Grin

Either naice ham, onion, cheddar and tomato, or turkey brie and cranberry

I made one today - cheese, shredded taco chicken, jalapenos, red onion and chilli chutney. Salivating!

Egg and a burger cheese slice on white bread, tastes a bit like an egg Mcmuffin.
Chopped up hot dog sausage and beans.
Bacon, brie, cranberry.

My friend used to put tinned spaghetti bolegnase i(the Heinz variety) in her toastie, sounds disgusting but tasted amazing

bellagogosdead · 30/12/2020 20:16

We use a panini press which is much easier to clean.
My toastie of choice is double gloucester and tomato or strong cheddar with red onion chutney on the side. Dh puts in the toastie which is plain wrong- who wants hot chutney?

Usually, cheese and onion, or baked beans.

On Christmas night, after too much wine, pigs in blankets and stuffing.

Today, a cocktail of cheeses and sliced olives.

Basically anything that can be dolloped into a toastie goes in the machine.

Growing up if I stayed at my best friends her mum would make us hotdog and fried onion toasties 😋

DS likes leftover pulled gammon with cheese on a toastie. I’m a fan of tuna and cheese.

Chicken tikka slices cut smaller with the scissors, Mexicana cheese and some franks hot sauce delish!

Gowiththeflow92 · 02/01/2021 01:50

Leftover takeaway lol have hangovers to thank for these toasties 🤦‍♀️
Chinese chicken curry
Donner kebab and cheese
Nutella and marshmallows

violetbunny · 02/01/2021 02:00

Ham, cheese and pineapple

Also, think pizza toppings - pizza sauce, mozzarella and then whatever you'd put on a pizza (e.g. ham, salami, thinly sliced red onion, basil, etc)

Whatisgoingonhere · 02/01/2021 09:05

Leftover spaghetti bolognese and cheese
Leftover cottage pie and cheese
Any mince dish really! With cheese Grin
Banana, peanut butter and a drizzle of honey
