I would say for me soda , can't buy the cheap versions of coke.

Too much to list but I’m not bothered about the quality of a coffee. I’m not a snob about anything anyone else has or does until they start boasting, then that really sets me off judging them.

EdersonsSmileyTattoo · 26/12/2020 21:31

Spiced Rum
Candles
Cheese
Bedding

apples24 · 26/12/2020 21:38

Probably bit of a snob about interior design/furniture. For example wooden floors over laminate, real tiles over vinyl. Real solid wood furniture over chipboard stuff. I'd rather have less than have poor quality. I value pieces bought for life over "trendy" stuff and would rather go without than buy something that doesn't seem like it would stand the test of time.

Christmas.

Dh and I got out the posh dinner service and the silver just for us and the kids.

Love it and wouldn't have it any other way

Benjispruce2 · 26/12/2020 21:44

sparklygoldtinsel · 26/12/2020 21:47

Quality Streets are just sooo much better than Roses daaarrrrling..,

lboogy · 26/12/2020 21:48

Haargen Dazs. I can't enjoy any other ice cream

JoeNotExotic · 26/12/2020 21:51

Wilkins and Sons ketchup
Coffee beans never instant
Bikes, I yearn for a Pinarello but I went with a specialised, never a Trek!

MiddleClassMother · 26/12/2020 21:58

Cars, I hate driving or riding in non 4x4s. I hate cheap plasticky cars like traditional "family crossovers"

MirandaMarple · 26/12/2020 22:05

Crackers fo cheese - Jacobs only.
Coffee, I don't buy coffee from a coffee shop or let anyone else make me one. Instant coffee makes me feel queasy.
Curtains - must be hung to a correct length (not necessarily to the floor, could be to the windowsill or radiator) but I hate curtains which just hang with no thought.
Wellies. Le Chameau and nothing else. I wear wellies a lot.
Logos on clothing.

Tequilamockinbird · 26/12/2020 22:09

Long haul Flying. After saving up enough airmiles to fly business class, I've since been a massive plane snob and cant go back to economy. I'd rather not go anywhere if I couldn't go business, so I'm obsessed with collecting airmiles now as I can't afford to pay for turning left!

Both vile.
AliceMcK · 26/12/2020 22:13

O dear thinking about this it’s far more than I thought 😬

Can only be:
HP sauce
Kellogg’s cornflakes
Flora butter/spread
Warburtons bread
My biggest is I will only have Egyptian cotton bedding and towels though.

I thought you meant placing one type on top of the other. You mean “in preference to”?

Janegrey333 · 26/12/2020 22:16

I agree with you, though.

Onedropbeat · 26/12/2020 22:17

Candles must be natural and not made of paraffin or fake scents (looking at you Yankee)

Totally agree with this too
Janegrey333 · 26/12/2020 22:19

@abigailthespiderinthehat

I must use the correct glass for each drink. They just doesn't taste the same otherwise. Red wine, white wine, gin, liqueurs, lager, stout, whiskey all have very specific glasses in my house and I'd go without rather than use the wrong glass!
The French, who know a bit about wine, will sip it out of plain tumblers. Fine by me.
apples24 · 26/12/2020 22:22

@Janegrey333

I agree with you, though.
I'm not a native speaker so hey ho, will inevitably make grammatical errors.
Janegrey333 · 26/12/2020 22:25

@Helocariad

Yes, grammar!
👏🏻

Actually sounded more of a regional thing to me.

LunaNorth · 26/12/2020 22:35

TV programmes. I can’t bear to watch shit like Love Island and I judge grown adults who do.

Clothes. I don’t want to wear something sewn by a six year old on six pence an hour. I’d rather buy less and pay more.

Cutlery. I’m not eating my soup with a dessert spoon, I’m not an animal.

Eggs. Organic and free range. I used to have rescue battery hens, so I’m not supporting that industry.

Shoes. Can’t wear cheap shoes. This is more necessity than snobbery though, my feet blister if I look at them funny.

Holidays. I’d rather never go on holiday again than go on a package to Benidorm or wherever.

Coffee. No instant, ever.

Manteo · 26/12/2020 22:36

How people prioritise their spending. E.g. we have friends who want to buy a house with a larger garden for their children but say they can't afford to but they've just bought a brand new 70 plate Land Rover to park outside their small 3 bed semi new build.

Or our friends who bought each other Canada Goose coats for Christmas but say all the extra curriculars their children want to do are too expensive!

Im an inverse snob about luxury bade cars and designer labels. Obviously.

People who insist they can only do their food shop in Waitrose. Seems like such a waste of money to me and very 'Hyacinth Bucket'.

Onedropbeat · 26/12/2020 22:39

I’m a Waitrose snob Blush

I really do find there’s a difference and don’t find I spend any more than in other shops and less gets wasted
