Bastard Cat has been at the raw pigs in blankets

I prepared all the pibs and turned my back for five mins to make a list. When turned back Bastard Cat was on the worktop having a good sniff/lick. If I cook feck out of them now do you think they’ll be ok? No option to get any more.

Sigh.

I wouldn’t risk it myself.

lyinginthegutterstaringatstars · 24/12/2020 13:04

I wouldn't. Too many bugs from the cat. Maybe banish the cat outside whilst you cook

OmarListening · 24/12/2020 13:07

I'd cook and eat them without a second thought.

But then I kiss my cat, and he likes to lick my face. I never get ill, my immune system must be good thanks to him.

CatFaceCats · 24/12/2020 13:09

I would - think how much food he’s probably done it to over the years and you have no idea!

magicstar1 · 24/12/2020 13:10

Aren’t they just sausages wrapped in bacon? Wash them under the tap and cook them well.

formerbabe · 24/12/2020 13:10

Seriously...wtf?! You'd actually still eat them...Xmas Envy not envy

LST · 24/12/2020 13:10

I'd cook them and eat them.

farawayplanet · 24/12/2020 13:11

The cat'll have licking its bum 😄

Trinacham · 24/12/2020 13:11

I would. But my cats are strictly house cats.. so don't carry anything.

I feel your pain though. I have one cat that does this at every given opportunity. He waits until our backs are turned and jumps straight up to see what we've left out.

dazzlinghaze · 24/12/2020 13:14

If they're not chewed I would cook and eat them without a second thought! But I have been woken on many a morning by my cat licking my mouth, so I may be desensitised! Grin

Frlrlrubert · 24/12/2020 13:15

I would, what could a cat possibly be carrying in their saliva that would survive the cooking process and make you ill if ingested?

Livpool · 24/12/2020 13:16

Ugh that is gross. I would chuck them

Jinglebellissimo · 24/12/2020 13:17

I’d cook and eat without a second thought.

verylittlepen · 24/12/2020 13:18

Cook and eat - they will be fine.

Jinglebellissimo · 24/12/2020 13:19

And for those who are being squeamish - they are literally made of pig - so worrying about what a cat may have done is pretty inconsequential to what the pig may have. (And no I’m not a vegetarian).

Yep. Grin
LST · 24/12/2020 13:19

@Livpool for what reason would you chuck them? Its raw meat. Literally dead animal. It needs cooking?

CabinClose · 24/12/2020 13:20

Yeah, cook and eat.

Soubriquet · 24/12/2020 13:20

I’d still eat them

Maybe chop off any bits that have been chomped but apart from that, I wouldn’t have a problem with it

Sparklfairy · 24/12/2020 13:21

Nope. I love my cat but cats lick their arses and a cat bite is more serious infection wise than a dog bite, so absolutely no way. Sorry OP, your bastard cat has stolen the best of the Xmas food!

CottonSock · 24/12/2020 13:22

As others say, a cats tounge is not much more germy than dead pig surely. I'd eat them

DimidDavilby · 24/12/2020 13:23

If you're cooking them then it's fine. How clean do you think a pig is?!

madmumofteens · 24/12/2020 13:25

I'm sorry OP just snorted there at your cat 🐈‍⬛ licking your pigs x

doctorhamster · 24/12/2020 13:26

I'd rinse under the tap, cook and eat.

gamerchick · 24/12/2020 13:30

Get rid of the ones closest and cook them now. I wouldn't be giving them to the cat neither, those things aren't daft.

Maybe stick the cat somewhere else while you're cooking though.
