Bastard Cat has been at the raw pigs in blankets

I prepared all the pibs and turned my back for five mins to make a list. When turned back Bastard Cat was on the worktop having a good sniff/lick. If I cook feck out of them now do you think they’ll be ok? No option to get any more.

Sigh.

Cook and let others eat them. Don’t let on though.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 24/12/2020 13:37

Should be OK, in our house we make the cat wear a face mask. He doesn't like it though so we have had to sellotape his paws to his body. He doesn't like that either but he kind of looks all Christmasy, like the little baby Jesus in swaddling clothes.
Grin

Sideorderofchips · 24/12/2020 13:37

Yep I'd cook and eat

Redburnett · 24/12/2020 13:38

A high temperature kills most pathogens.

This shouldn’t have made me laugh as much as it did!
TheYearOfSmallThings · 24/12/2020 13:43

I'd wash them and cook them. I mean they are made of dead pig (never the cleanest animal) so I doubt a bit of cat dna will make them deadlier.

If it helps, we used to keep our toothbrushes in a glass on the windowsill. Then we found out that the cat was in the habit of sitting on the windowsill soaking up the sun while delicately nibbling the faintly minty toothbrushes. We all remain in good health (we did move the glass).

Whatamesssss · 24/12/2020 13:53

Yep I would eat them too. Have them on the well done side.

Caught my 5 month old kitten trying to wrestle the (thankfully wrapped) Turkey off the side earlier. It's about 6 times bigger than her. Xmas Grin

orangenasturtium · 24/12/2020 13:54

You're PIBs will have already been covered in bacteria from your hands and everyone (and everything) else who touched them in the manufacturing process.

Cook them now before any bacteria have a chance to proliferate and they should be fine. I can't think of any bacteria that can harm humans and survive the high temperature needed to cook PIBs that might be lurking in a cat's mouth.

StinkyDora · 24/12/2020 13:54

Another vote for the 'just eat them' brigade. The heat will kill the germs.

chipsandpeas · 24/12/2020 13:55

id cook and eat no problem

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/12/2020 13:55

I’d eat them too. Poor cat wasn’t to know.

TooManyDogsandChildren · 24/12/2020 13:57

My own BC has decided that now we have a Christmas tree he need no longer use his litter tray as he has done for the past 7 years but will crap in the corner behind the tree. Not in keeping with the Christmas spirit!

I have washed the area with the smelliest disinfectant I could find so that hopefully it is no longer so attractive and given him a lecture - he understood but that does not mean he will not sneak in and do it again when my back is turned - because cats are bastards like that!

tcjotm · 24/12/2020 13:59

😂 little monsters they are, they know.

I’d cook and eat them without a worry. Be different if the cat licked ready to serve food. My cats are indoor only though so I’m sure we all share germs.

EckhartLolly · 24/12/2020 14:00

Rinse em, cook em. But then again I am veggie so I wouldn't eat them in the first placeGrin

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 24/12/2020 14:01

Ah poor pussy was just trying to get a bit of sausage Xmas Smile

BaronessBomburst · 24/12/2020 14:03

We'd cook and eat them here too.

GeidiPrimes · 24/12/2020 14:05

I've eaten cat-nibbled sausages and lived. Also regularly drink cat tongue water (the little bastards prefer the water from my glass)

CrunchyNutNC · 24/12/2020 14:05

I think that cat people are more likely to catch things from whatever is on their cat's feet when it wanders about the work surfaces than from it licking something that you're going to cook.

I would cook and eat them, it'll be fine.

Fluffycloudland77 it knew, trust me - they always do Xmas Grin

dingit · 24/12/2020 14:06

Yeah cook them and give him a nice cooked one too. He was just helping you prep Grin

rollinggreenhills · 24/12/2020 14:06

If there were teeth marks probably not, but otherwise, yeah - they'll be fine if you cook them now.

Newnamefor2021 · 24/12/2020 14:17

If it's an consolation I just saw on a Bengal cat Facebook group someone's cat ate them 😆 and one Christmas when I was a child the cat had the turkey 🙈

I would Personally wash it and cook them 😆

SantasBritchesSpelleas · 24/12/2020 14:18

I'd rinse them off and cook them. But I'm another cat-kisser.

MPolsted · 24/12/2020 14:21

Cook and eat them!

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/12/2020 14:22

Bengals like to take things to the max.

SirVixofVixHall · 24/12/2020 14:23

Absolutely.
