Bastard Cat has been at the raw pigs in blankets

I prepared all the pibs and turned my back for five mins to make a list. When turned back Bastard Cat was on the worktop having a good sniff/lick. If I cook feck out of them now do you think they’ll be ok? No option to get any more.

Sigh.

@Sparklfairy
a cat bite is more serious infection wise than a dog bite,

That's because of the way cats bite. They have the same bacteria in their mouths as dogs do, but a cat bite puts the bacteria deeper into tissue than a dog bite does, so the wound is more likely to become infected.

theThreeofWeevils · 24/12/2020 14:40

And a human bite is worse than either, apparently.

Yes but I would hope humans would have the sense not to get up on the kitchen worktop and chew them raw. 🤣
Yoffel · 24/12/2020 15:40

I have decided to pass as knowing my luck at the moment I’d end up with something hideous. I have cooked them and offered them to Bastard Cat but of course he’s not remotely interested in them now. And of course he knew. He’s a Bastard.

That’s a myth unless said human hasn’t brushed their teeth for a year, licks poo off their hands and drinks out of rainwater puddles.
SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 24/12/2020 16:01

Cook them and eat them - the heat of the oven will kill any bugs from the cat.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 24/12/2020 16:02

And it could be worse - our cat, known, coincidentally, as CatBastard, got up on the couch, the other day, and threw up on my lap. Bastard.

PlanDeRaccordement · 24/12/2020 16:06

While the heat from the oven will kill any bacteria that might have gone from cat mouth to the food, most food poisoning bacteria are still toxic when dead or secrete toxins that remain even after they die. So it’s not just live bacteria that can food poison you.

bonzo77 · 24/12/2020 16:34

Totally cook and eat. It’ll be fine. My cat and I share a water glass.

redevening · 24/12/2020 16:36

That thread title really made me laugh! Thanks OP!

Alys20 · 24/12/2020 17:13

As your cat is a bastard, it'll probably have licked, pawed and nibbled quite a few things without you even knowing, which you've then touched or ingested.

If it was me I'd bin the pigs in blankets along with all the cat's favourite treats. Bastard.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 24/12/2020 17:31

@sparklfairy
... and a crocodile bite is worse than all of them.

Which is why you shouldn't let one on your worktop - and never, NEVER smile at one.

nosswith · 24/12/2020 17:52

I would have been surprised if the cat hadn't come for them.

Growing up we had a cat that could be outside and no cat flap. Cat often was put outside on much of Christmas Eve as my mum liked fish that day for some reason I have forgotten. Cat pleaded endlessly to be let in. I still have the photo taken from indoors of the cats against the window.

I didn't know that! I just assumed it was the likelihood that a cat had recently sunk it's fangs into a rodent Grin

SimonJT · 24/12/2020 19:20

Do some people not understand the cooking process?

SimonJT · 24/12/2020 19:26

I had to have antibiotics, a blood test, an x-ray and a hep B vaccine when I was bitten by a person (drunk or possibly high or both idiot at a festival).
Sparklfairy · 24/12/2020 19:29

@SimonJT I can well believe it. I saw a really gruesome forensic files episode where a man beat a woman to death and punched her in the mouth. The bacteria from her teeth gave him the worst infection doctors had ever seen and led to his arrest. It's called a "fight bite"!

SkySports · 24/12/2020 19:46

Ummm do cats lick their bottoms? I mean some cats climb all over the surfaces/tables etc ...grim

I wouldn't touch it at all. Bin it. But them again some people kiss their cats or let them lick their faces so.... you know they probably wouldn't mind.

SkySports · 24/12/2020 19:47

Is it true that cats will eat their owners when they die....

I have heard of a couple of cases when older people die and the pet cats (devil things) start munching on them!

Grim

SkySports · 24/12/2020 19:48

Cook the cat?

Throw the pibs.

I love forensic files ! It’s my bedtime story...have you seen the one about ‘snowy’ the cat in Canada that deposited his hairs on the murderers jacket.
RIP Snowy

Iwantacookie · 24/12/2020 19:52

Oh this reminds me of the year my dm found the cat tucking into the Turkey. She just cut the cat bite Mark's off

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/12/2020 19:57

Dogs will eat you when you die too. Self preservation always takes over.

Toototwo · 24/12/2020 19:59

GeidiPrimes. . Cat tongue water 😂😂😂

vodkaredbullgirl · 24/12/2020 20:00

Stop being a pussy, clean and cook Grin
