It's the last Saturday before Christmas! <eek> What are you all doing today?

I'm sitting at the kitchen table, in silence, with my cuppa. I'll get some washing on shortly & tidy round.

Both girls are still sleeping and their dad's at work.

We're going to bake, and hopefully build, our gingerbread house later on. I want to bake the other half of dd2's birthday cake to freeze, and we might wrap a few presents.

Other than that, we have absolutely no plans for the day! I bought an extra bottle of milk on the way home from school last night so we don't even need to nip to the shop

Might even treat us to takeaway for tea.

Wondering if it’s too late to send my Christmas cards... also what to get DH who really does have everything he wants and all the gadgets he needs... says he doesn’t want anything...

We always say ‘don’t get me anything - I don’t need anything, spend it on the kids’ but I know he has bought me a coat (he’s not good at surprises).

Not much! Bit of housework, then a dog walk in the grounds of a nearby stately home, where there's a little Christmas market, hot chocolate and mulled wine etc.

DH is taking the DC for a haircut and hot chocolate out later this morning. I’m going to watch a trashy film and finish off my wrapping.

A walk this afternoon then my sister is coming round to watch the Strictly final with fancy canapés and champagne! (She’s on her own so in a bubble with us)

Laying in bed with a blinding headache and a cough, awaiting covid test results. I might go to my mums house and start gathering her belongings later - its around the corner. I can get therewithout seeing anyone

Maybe get around to decorating the tree - the lights are on and thats all so far.

Deep clean of our house is needed, I’m also going to cook a leek and sweet potato soup for lunch (the leeks need using up!) we might go for a little walk this afternoon. We’ve got supermarket pizzas for dinner, just as an easy meal.
DS aged 3 is begging me to play playdoh with him this morning so I’m just going to finish my coffee, put some washing on quickly and then he has my full attention Grin

I work for an LA supporting schools.

I'm sitting here, laptop on ready to respond to COVID reports of positive cases in schools.

House is untidy,no decorations up, some presents, ordered online are sitting in the hall unopened. Christmas food shop not done. I haven't had the time to even think about it.
This has been the hardest year ever in education. Working hours have been incredulous, no holidays, no bank holidays, working weekends.

I'm at the point of tears.

Hope you feel better. My niece has Covid now and she says it feels like hell (and she is a strapping, young, fit lass).

My holiday has just started. I usually look forward to this holiday as a time to be able to stay home, mostly, usually spend the day itself with family of course and we've all decided not to do that this year. But staying home is all we've done all year so it doesn't feel like a special treat so much. Still, got the food in, the decorations have been up, the gift purchases have been done, everything's wrapped. I shall now enjoy several easy days days of dog walks, nice food and silky fillings. Hm, that's an interesting typo for silly films!!!

Last 4 presents to wrap, some final minor cleaning, then all done! For the first year ever I have been super organised. Last grocery shop being delivered tomorrow, although I have all the main food already (meat in freezer etc). Will watch a film later. Also going to change my bedding today so nice fresh sheets tonight! It feels nice to be on top of things for once.

Finishing off my advent window ready for tomorrow, also need eggs and milk so trip to the farm shop (might pick up goodies too).

Ds2 has an at-home sleepover with Beavers tonight so we will be setting up camp in the living room and doing zoom activities. Burgers and popcorn at the ready for a Christmas film to finish.

I am doing NOTHING tomorrow Xmas Hmm.

I'm still in bed. Might get up in a bit. I think we're putting the tree up today, but that will be about the most exciting part of the day. I'll probably do some laundry and might possibly go for a walk at some point if it ever stops raining.

I'm meeting a friend later to have a xmas cocktail or two (We are in tier 1) I'll also be adding some last minute items to our tesco delivery which is due tomorrow and wrapping some presents (christ knows how they will turn our after the cocktails though!) Hope everyone has a fab day.

So today is just mooching about. Strictly later on. I have a couple of presents to wrap and might clean out my car. Get the dcs bikes serviced.

I'm thoroughly exhausted after a manic week at work, so still lying in bed. Need to clean the house, put washing on etc. Not started wrapping the pressies yet so hoping DP will take the kids out later so I can get that done. Strictly final tonight.
Working next week till xmas eve, so need to get organized today.
