It's the last Saturday before Christmas! <eek> What are you all doing today?

I'm sitting at the kitchen table, in silence, with my cuppa. I'll get some washing on shortly & tidy round.

Both girls are still sleeping and their dad's at work.

We're going to bake, and hopefully build, our gingerbread house later on. I want to bake the other half of dd2's birthday cake to freeze, and we might wrap a few presents.

Other than that, we have absolutely no plans for the day! I bought an extra bottle of milk on the way home from school last night so we don't even need to nip to the shop

Might even treat us to takeaway for tea.

We had a lie in followed by a walk/scoot around our local park. Now I’ve got everyone tidying bedrooms/upstairs in general ready for Father.Christmas coming this week, we don’t want him to step on any Lego!

Finished final bits of shopping and wrapping. I’m so looking forward to the strictly final. We have bought some buffet style food from M&S a Camembert and french bread, some lemon and
Limes for our gin. Roll on this evening

DD1 is self isolating so in solidarity, and also because it would be mean to go anywhere nice without her, we're in all weekend. I've cleaned the carpets, cleaned the pond, roped an unluckily fil in to help me move a tumble dryer from the depths of a cluttered garage up into the kitchen. Asking him to get rid of the old one would be pushing it. I'm wondering if dd2 is strong enough to help get it to the dump.

Did the first of the two big Christmas shops , bought the non perishables etc . Perishables will get done on the 23rd . Filled the car up with fuel , went for pre op COVID test and now isolating until hospital on Tuesday . Cleaned two floors , washed the dog's duvet , done the mucking out , made some gingerbread and contemplating experimenting with some of the alcohol soaked fruit to make cupcakes .

Dealing with two sick puppies today - they've picked up a bug that the vet says is going around.

Aw, I hope they're feeling better soon eclipse.

plomino that is an epic list! I'm hoping for a productive day like that on Monday.

The gingerbread house is baked (the girls abandoned me to cut it myself!) but not assembled or decorated. Think we'll do that tomorrow now. Presents are not wrapped either 🤷‍♀️

We did feed dd2's mantis though. Little bugger jumps really far, really quickly!

Finally putting my tree up!

Dh has just finished treatment for cancer so I wanted to wait until that was done. I'm normally a first week of December kind of girl.

I picked up DGS, did some Christmas shopping, had a hypo, now feeling a bit better , currently watching Polar Express with the aforementioned DGS, we finished the popcorn whilst watching Bag Humduck.

I have had quite a chilled day, thanks to finishing my shopping yesterday and posting the last few cards.
I had a bit of a tidy up, cleaned the wood burner (over cleaner is magic for getting the tar off the glass with no effort), made some royal icing lollipop trees to decorate my cake with tomorrow. Hopefully they'll set rock hard 🤞
Walked the dog and then gave her a much needed bath at trim, and dematting. Accidentally got her back leg with the scissors but she was ok. More a pinch than a cut I think.
Now having a cuppa and some Borders dark choc ginger biscuits and watching Strictly final

Did a quick shop around Tesco didn’t need much, just got a few more bottles of Bailey’s.

Came home and I’ve been eating chocolate and drinking said Bailey’s since around 5. Currently playing board games with ds, DH is out for a run. Then we will prob watch a movie, then an early night for me and ds.

I’ve been so lazy for the last 2 weeks!

God, I ache! Spontaneously decided to tackle the jasmin which grows up the front of our house. It is beautiful and smells heavenly in bloom, but it's running wild. It took over an hour, and I've filled our green bin. Towards the end I was almost grunting with effort.

Then I started the pressie wrapping. Three hours later I am only two thirds through (but have gone full on with the curly ribbons and bows), but I have thrown in the towel. I've had enough. DH has just been instructed to make me a cuppa and fetch chocolate ❤️
