How much trouble am I in? (Food poisoning)

SapphosRock · 18/12/2020 17:44

DP made home made sushi.

I ate some with what I thought were black sesame seeds on it. Tasted weird. Turns out the black stuff was from an old jar of caviar DP found at the back of the fridge... that went out of date in 2017 Envy (not envy)

What now? Am I going to die?

Thank you for the advice. Going to bed now with a hot water bottle.

Let's hope I'm not talking to Jesus in the morning

@JesusInTheCabbageVan yes please to smiting DP.

I'll let you know how the night goes.

JudyGemstone · 18/12/2020 22:53

Good luck OP 💪🏼

TheWichitaWineOne · 18/12/2020 22:59

You really must be fucked OP. Nobody's even bothered to pick you up on your 'mostly vegan' post

Shall we...? Nah, no point, she's probably dead already

HyacynthBucket · 18/12/2020 23:06

Hope you are OK, OP and the night goes well. In the morning, maybe ring solicitor and start divorce proceedings on grounds of attempted homicide by DP.

ColdTattyWaitingForSummer · 18/12/2020 23:08

This was not the thread to read while recovering from a stomach bug! (Definitely not a pre Christmas diet I’d recommend 🤢)
Hope you feel better in the morning op Flowers

Weedsnseeds1 · 18/12/2020 23:10

It'll be fine. It's full of salt and borax. Nothing much will survive in that. Except maybe Clostridium Botulinum. If you aren't experiencing blurred vision, breathing difficulties and paralysis, all is well.
If you are, don't let 999 fob you off with "it's probably COVID"....

baileysisforme · 18/12/2020 23:15

Put towels down on the floor by your bed just in case

NoDontDoIt · 18/12/2020 23:15

Just placemarking to establish how long i can safely leave caviar in the fridge.

AldiAisleofCrap · 18/12/2020 23:19

Is it really true Imodium keeps the bad stuff in it is it a myth?

LeSangeEstDansLarbre · 18/12/2020 23:24

Not a myth. I once had gastroenteritis so badly that I had runs like water every 15 minutes for 25 hours, my arse was bleeding terribly and I rang the GP for advice. Despite being entirely sympathetic she wanted me to leave it as long as possible before taking Imodium for some relief, to give my body a chance to get rid of it as quickly as possible. She was quite clear it would stop my body getting of the bug as quickly as it otherwise would. There’s a reason you evacuate everything with a bug or poisoning,

Thanks @LeSangeEstDansLarbre I think that’s definitely where I have gone wrong in the past.

ImnotCarolineHirons · 19/12/2020 00:05

👏👏👏 to @JesusInTheCabbageVan for the timely appearance at 19:49 GrinGrinGrin

Hope you survive the night OP!

IdblowJonSnow · 19/12/2020 00:25

I had the shits from ice in my drink in south America, went on for days and days, no puking though. Took some really strong immodium and was then very sick. The bugs definitely need to er, exit, one way or another!

Get well soon.

Popcornismandatory · 19/12/2020 00:51

In future clean your fridge and be ruthless regardless of weird high value vintage items belonging to another member of your household.

perditaplum · 19/12/2020 03:51

Either that or you will be hallucinating so bad you will meet Jesus at 19:49. I am here, my child

Game, set and match to @JesusInTheCabbageVan Grin

Frenchdressing · 19/12/2020 04:02

Hope you’re ok OP. (Why does someone e think you e made this up??? Weird)

Agree re immodium. Took it after diarrhoea as a result of a bad egg Mayo sandwich. It made me worse, shaking and sweating. The poison needs to be expelled.

Lemonlady22 · 19/12/2020 04:38

I had food poisoning back in May...poor you, thought I was dying..actually had an ambulance out as felt so ill(won't give the details). I was ill for weeks after and lost a lot of weight due to losing appetite and not tolerating what I did eat, I did end up in hospital 3 weeks later. Hope you are ok

custardbear · 19/12/2020 04:49

Oh dear -I hope you're ok! Was it pickles or preserved caviar by Any chance?

ilovesooty · 19/12/2020 05:06

@giletrouge

OP, you will not die, but you will give birth to many tiny sturgeon.
Which she can name Nicola 1 Nicola 2 Nicola 3...
garlictwist · 19/12/2020 05:33

How are you feeling OP? Any...stirrings?

Oh this is just plain nasty
Weedsnseeds1 · 19/12/2020 07:11

In what way? Salmonella, Listeria etc., the usual suspects, won't survive in that type of product.

MacDuffsMuff · 19/12/2020 07:24

@Daisydoesnt of all the things to be so annoyed about. 😂 Unclench, it's really not important.

OP, please do not unclench. Hope you've made it through the night.

UseOfWeapons · 19/12/2020 07:35

Are you still alive, OP?
Hope your tortured gut has settled down, and and is now merely grumbling, rather than a full-on tantrum.
Was your OH trying to kill you? Have you noticed any other negative traits? Perhaps you should encourage him to eat a little of his own death-filled cuisine?
💐 to you and your bottom.
