I am pleased that Harry and Meghan are making a success of things.

It’s been such an eventful year for everyone with uncertainty and being pulled out of our normal way of life. It’s good to see people who left what might be considered a “golden cage” and find a way to fly.

It gives me hope and confidence that even though we may not have connections and gorgeous looks, we can step out and do things differently and still be ok

@LoisWilkersonslastnerve

I don't like or understand the hatred directed towards them op but honestly you sound like a promotional robot. I can't decide if you're real or a comedy genius.
Exactly this.
wizzbangfizz · 16/12/2020 10:12

This thread is hilarious. And yes, I hope their "hard work" pays off. Can't wait to stream and listen to their content. Their talent is already shining through in the snippet I heard earlier Xmas Grin

Oldbutstillgotit · 16/12/2020 10:18

OP I also can’t decide if you are serious or not however , assuming you are , H and M will become a lot less relevant and influential without royal titles . Obviously they know that or they would have dropped the Sussex name by now.
Anyway I expect this thread will soon be pulled as are all H and M threads .

Interested in this thread?

Then you might like threads about this subject:

Frownette · 16/12/2020 10:22

What's the reason why they're pulled?

Ultimateblends · 16/12/2020 10:27

Oh this thread has brightend my morning.

Op, you are hilarious, and I've been laughing at the replies and creativity of the new tea inventions by PP.

I'm just so glad we have all come together on this thread to bring some positivity and the wonderful ideas of PP, I can only hope that MM is reading this thread and feeling that today, we have all come together to THRIVE not just survive.

forget the fact everyday people are struggling with an awful year, where a huge majority of us don't even know where next months paycheck is coming from

I mean, they could.choose to live in an average, normal everyday house, but im just really pleased they're living in a mansion in America, just the 3 of them, I dont think I could take thier environmental lectures so seriously if it wasnt for the backdrop of luxury interior design.

I'm overwhelmingly pleased for them!

strawberrymelons · 16/12/2020 10:40

This has got to be a piss take right?
I can't wrap my head around the possibility that you're serious. That you think the 2 of them starting a podcast will do anything for your average citizen who was actually struggled this year. As in, no money, no food, no work. These 2 are some of the least relatable people in the world right now.

emilyfrost · 16/12/2020 10:59

They’re not making a success of things; they’re just making an embarrassment out of themselves. Take those ridiculous awards for example Hmm

Happyforthem · 16/12/2020 11:05

Leaving toxic environments can be hard, and they have done it.

With a message of kindness and hope. Sure, they have benefitted from connections. But these open doors, ultimately to ‘seal the deal’ in the US you have to impress and deliver.

It is not like they can sit back and some elves will magically produce great shows. They will need to be hands on in managing the team and talent.

To the op who said they will be ‘spoon-fed’, that’s not how US corporations work. It isn’t a cushy board job, it’s delivering a creative product that is in touch with their audience and the times.

I think they will do a good job. Especially if they have advisors who will provide them steer.

And being a success doesn’t mean making loads of money. It means understanding who you are, and letting go of toxic environments so you can thrive instead of trying to simply fit in. That’s relatable to many of us.

But they haven't been kind themselves, have they? If they truly were leaving a toxic family environment ( and all evidence prior to Meghan's arrival on the scene, points to Harry getting on well with family ) , wouldn't you just leave and go and live your best life elsewhere? Not write a book for public consumption about how you 'escaped'? Especially when your main evidence for mistreatment is petty things such as not being offered a lift to the shops.
laudemio · 16/12/2020 11:35

Op you are very funny.

Ummm... of course elves will produce the shows and podcasts - it’s called a production team. Most likely Harry and Meghan will literally show up having been sent the outline of the podcast the week before and just record it. No pre work, no production work, no managing anyone. And the Netflix shows even more so as to produce a high quality tv show takes hundreds of people normally - Harry and Meghan are just the stars, not running the show. You’re very naive and I can only assume have never worked anywhere near media.

Don’t be so ridiculous, OP 😂 Of course they’re not doing anything themselves; they just swan in at the last minute in a failed attempt to look good.

Happyforthem · 16/12/2020 12:13

My DH has produced shows (doesn’t do it anymore) and it is a LOT of work, coordination and decisions, no matter how capable and talented your team is 😊

No one “swans in”, everyone works, rehearses and contributes.

But your DH isn't part of the entitled royal family, so clearly, his role would actually involve working hard.
Happyforthem · 16/12/2020 12:17

I agree the RF is entitled 😊 but they left the RF culture and are part of the US work environment, working with US companies and producing shows there.

Everyone is expected to work hard, especially in young companies which still have a start up mentality.

Frownette · 16/12/2020 12:20

I'm with you OP, they should be revered and admired for their selfless dedication to nauseating podcasts.

How did you manage before their esteemed enterprises? What was the purpose of your life?

Ultimateblends · 16/12/2020 12:30

I particularly love op UN of "happyforthem" just to make a thread about the love of MM & H.

I feel truly inspired today.

Charcutaria · 16/12/2020 12:42

I think that HMTQ should generously and selflessly set Harry and Meghan free, their Royal titles will only be holding them back, I mean they agreed not to use them. So releasing them from the onerous burden would be a kindness. At the same time cut the money off, give them a level playing field.
All hail Mr & Mrs H Mountbatten-Windsor! Hollywood is waiting with baited breath. 🤣

Arthersleep · 16/12/2020 12:58

We can all take inspiration from other people's stories of diversity and positivity in which we will find our own stories within and our shared commonality!

Next week Harry will reveal that he also once went to one of those public establishments that sell food... No, not restaurants...you know...now what does one call them..? Oh yes...supermarkets... because they are super!

I will confess though, and I hate to speak negatively, that I do find M (yes 🕯️THAT one), has a little too much commonality for the Royal Family. Particularly her rather fascinating video on Feminist Role Models - 'Grilling Meat'. It's worth googling.

HmmSureJan · 16/12/2020 13:29

He’s very well thought of in the military.

No he isn't.

Your partner isn’t part of the Royal Family; they will just hire a team and swan in at the end.

You are very naive and ignorant to their entitlement.

About as well thought of as the cffee it would seem...

Arthersleep · 16/12/2020 14:44

He's a bit like the cffee too. Rich, full-bodied with some bitter undernotes.

I think it's fucking shameful that HM the Queen is forcing them to keep their royal titles. Shameful.
