To loathe the cat with a passion?

Changename1000 · 14/12/2020 19:13

He is so needy, follows me everywhere, usually looking for food, which he then sniffs and walks away. He’s also got the loudest, most annoying miaow you’ve ever heard and it grates, to the extent I have to put him in another room or else I leave the room and leave him in there! The worst thing is that it’s just me and him during the day and that’s when he’s at his worst. So, is it YABU It’s a bloody cat or YANBU he needs to find a new home?

Your cat should LTB if he has any sense.

Guga · 14/12/2020 20:01

@VicMackey

How can you ‘loathe’ any animal ‘with a passion’ ? Ridiculous - I am genuinely worried for this cats welfare
Me too! Sad

I'm hoping the OP is bored and this isn't serious though it's in extremely bad taste and you'd have to be a right twat to think it's even remotely funny.

thosetalesofunexpected · 14/12/2020 20:03

Your cat is miowing for love an some attention affection, and obviously food
Its not rocket science or a struggle to know this really Op.
Come on for heaven sake....

Find a good family home through your local vets in your community A.s.a.p
Or

The Pets at home store they have vets inside the store

ValidUser · 14/12/2020 20:06

My cats are assholes and I adore the ground they walk on.

2bazookas · 14/12/2020 20:07

Isn't this where MN traditionally tells you to pack your bag and leave?

OldGreyBoots · 14/12/2020 20:09

I'm 100% a dog person, and even I can't fathom a meow being grating Confused

Unicant · 14/12/2020 20:11

Is this your cat that you bought for yourself?
I mean I hate cats tbh but I've realised that and not bought myself one as a pet... I do think its a bit odd that you've bought this poor creature as a pet and now hate it.. they are living beings they dont really deserve to be messed about like this. Cats are deeply annoying thats just how it is.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 14/12/2020 20:11

My cat bullied me into putting the heated throw on for her earlier, and later will play the in and out game while DP and I open/close the back door for her. Last week she pulled down the Christmas tree.

She’s the boss here. I think you need to rehome your cat, OP.

Changename1000 · 14/12/2020 20:22

@SantasBritchesSpelleas

I love loud, chatty cats! Send him to me.
You’re welcome to him Grin

I'm a 100% animal person. It definitely can. The way around it is to think of it as the cat has worked out that you're a bit thick for not speaking Cat, is doing their best to speak Human and you're still not understanding them, so they do what some British tourists do and raise their voices as though making it louder will render it intelligible.

DP now has conversations with the DTwatCats as well. Generally along the lines of 'Well, I can't stop it raining/in or out?/Stop lying, I saw you being fed half an hour ago/it's People Food, not Cat Food'.

VicMackey · 14/12/2020 20:30

@ Changename1000
that’s a lovely gesture that ‘you’re welcome to him’ so why don’t you PM the person who would rehome him now, I’m sure you can both come to a mutual agreement/meeting place.
Best solution for all concerned don’t you think ?

Changename1000 · 14/12/2020 20:33

@Santaisironingwrappingpaper

Why?

zoemum2006 · 14/12/2020 20:37

Jeez you people are a bunch of freaks!!! It’s a cat!!

People get sympathy all the time for their children annoying them but you’re not allowed to irritated by a cat?

I guess they’re right that some care more about animals than people in this country.

1forAll74 · 14/12/2020 20:37

It's shameful that you speak about your cat being loathsome, please find a nice home for him somewhere else. If you get angry with him for having some quirky ways, then you don't know much about cat behaviour at all.

I have three lovely cats, and I would never get annoyed with them . One of them jumped on the window sill today, I had just finished painting it with white gloss paint, and so he ended up with sticky white gloss on his four paws, then jumped straight onto my wine coloured fabric sofa.. no point in getting annoyed with him though!

Is that your ‘other’ username ?
Changename1000 · 14/12/2020 20:38

To those all worrying about the cat, he’s fine and gets lots of attention. He’s just demanding and I get the brunt because I’m working from home. This is lighthearted, well mainly lighthearted. We’ve had him for over a decade and he is a bit deaf. So very much a family cat, but my god he’s annoying.

I’ll have them! My cat probably wouldn’t mind a new friend!

Do you mean the swift backpedal ?
altiara · 14/12/2020 20:43

I want a cat. I’d love one that was chatty and wanted to be close by!

Jamie8671 · 14/12/2020 20:44

‘Loathing an animal makes you quite loathsome yourself, assuming not lighthearted.

My cats piss me off sometimes because they scratch the furniture cry for breakfast at 4am! But they’re just cats.. they have zero awareness of their behaviour impact upon others! Do you really loathe them or is this just hyperbole?

EdwardCullensBiteOnTheSide · 14/12/2020 20:44

A lot of people hating their pets today 🙄
