soddingkitten I was laughing at your earlier post about not allowing Sodding into the bathroom while someone is sitting down on the toilet. And it now occurs to me that the Christmas tree is exactly the same temptation for Sodding, only there are more dangly things. Grin

Hi @dinodiva, I'm glad you found us after the last thread. I'm glad your loss of sense of smell was a false alarm.

Our cats have inspected the Christmas tree and are now ignoring it. It wasn't always thus.

DH is making grilled cheese and bacon sandwiches on sourdough bread for dinner. We are peasants simple folk.

We had spaghetti bolognese and garlic bread for dinner and now I've had a strawberry muller corner and having a hot milk.

I just asked DH if he had a text about my homebase order for the chicken's tarp and my mini Xmas tree and lights and he said yes its in store and he may get it tomorrow lunchtime.

silkiecat · 08/12/2020 23:29

Am supposed to only be ordering sensible things but just ordered a singing reindeer for DS and DD and a llama lamp for our room as still no light. Have managed to persuade DH that these are both essentials.

EggyPegg · 08/12/2020 23:29

We had chips for dinner. I had mind with leftover pizza, DH had a chicken Kiev and the DC had cheeseburgers.

I really fancied a jacket potato for lunch so I emailed DH from work to ask him to put one in the oven for me. I walked in to the smell of it cooking and DH talking to the builder and electrician regarding the loft conversion. The electrician informed us that our house wouldn't have had electricity when it was built in 1907, it would have come later in around 1930. This poses issues with the loft conversion apparently.

A llama lamp? This needs a photo please. Or a link.

Am now wondering if there is such a thing as a llama lava lamp.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/12/2020 06:32

It is raining ...

EggNogPegg · 09/12/2020 06:46

Oh that lamp is fabulous @silkiecat!

I have Christmas name changed. I might keep this one.

Squirrel26 · 09/12/2020 08:23

I need to pick up a prescription this morning so I will be late for work, because the pharmacy doesn’t open until 9. The prescription is a repeat of an extremely mundane, long-term medication.

TrickyD · 09/12/2020 10:09

Have wiped the paintwork on and surrounding the doors in the hall downstairs. There are ten. Those upstairs may have to wait.

TheySeeHerRowling · 09/12/2020 10:46

Asda was out of pine nuts this morning so I can't make pesto for tonight's dinner - had to buy some

silkiecat · 09/12/2020 11:39

Got DS's isolation schoolwork. I said DS you can either watch your class in a Teams geography lesson about geography cartoons or watch Oak Academy on the DRC's development. Lesson will be boring at school, I'll watch the Congo video. Video starts oh this is boring as well, whine, whine but he listened to it all and got 5/5 on quiz so 1 down. Saw 5 of his class on isolation list for Teams.

I have learned from Master Chef The Professionals that you can substitute nuts eg walnut for pine nuts.
TheySeeHerRowling · 09/12/2020 12:28

Ooh, I think I have some walnuts knocking around somewhere - thanks, TheSilveryPussycat

halfpasteleven · 09/12/2020 13:15

It is pouring rain with a cold wind outside.
I have to go out for twenty minutes in this weather later. I really hope it stops before then.

silkiecat · 09/12/2020 13:22

I got History, English and Geography done now with DS but it is quite painful and I was told off as its not the day for English. But it is supposed to be the day for French and Science DS and you didn't want to do those so I'm swapping things around and hoping they'll be more appealing another day.

Just had bacon and egg roll and cup of tea. Still awaiting to hear from buyer about survey. DH hasn't gone yet to collect things, says will go at 5pm.

halfpasteleven · 09/12/2020 15:24

It stayed dry earlier so I just froze instead of being rained on. I'm sitting at the car wash now for 19 minutes peace before I head home and the other "work" begins..

halfpasteleven · 09/12/2020 15:26

19?!!! 10!! 10 minutes peace!! Although I'd take 19 if it's going!

EggNogPegg · 09/12/2020 15:46

Did battle with DS1 to get him to do his Maths. He hates White Rose Maths apparently. Says the guy 'drones on'. I agree with him.

EggNogPegg · 09/12/2020 17:03

I have received two emails today regarding the new proposal that schools close a day early next week. The first was from my school confirming that we will be closed on the Friday now, and that TAs do not need to do any training on that day. The second was from my DC school who have decided that it is too short notice, so they will be remaining open as planned.
This means that I have a day off whilst the DC are at school.

Champagneforeveryone · 09/12/2020 17:11

Oh egg how awful for you GrinWink

Frownette · 09/12/2020 17:12

Got into a complete tangle with my face mask first thing as it went into my eyes.

Shop lady was saying "just take it off" as I couldn't see but I was no no it's ok and then walked out straight out of the shop into a bin and swore loudly

Spudlet · 09/12/2020 17:17

Went on an expedition today to collect some laundry bags for school. During Lockdown One I made them from pillowcases for our local scrubs making group, as did lots of other people, for key workers to take their uniforms home in. They had a fair few left so I collected some for DS’s school today - hopefully they will come in useful for those little accidents that will happen in primary schools! I also posted all our Christmas parcels and dropped off lots of outgrown toys at the local children’s hospice shop. Then it actually stopped being rainy and / or foggy, so I managed to cycle to collect DS from school, for the first time this week.

Tonight we have a Thai Green Curry for dinner - a posh ready meal one.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/12/2020 17:47

I have take a day off tomorrow, both my hair appointment, my control termin at the dentist's and the deep clean will go ahead. Yay!

DH is making hummus.
