I could never learn to like German potato salad, I much prefer it with mayo (and maybe a little grainy mustard mixed in). I do like a vinegar and oil dressing on salads generally, including mixed salads that have some potato, but it just seems wrong on potato salad.

Well, it is definitly a regional thing, our variety is from Baden (so no cornichons either).

I had chicken korma, pilau rice and onion bhajis for dinner and 2 glasses of pineapple juice mixed with coconut milk. DS was very jealous of my ice cubes said no to the drink, just wanted a glass of ice cubes as you do in December when its around 5C.

DS said it was very suspicious that school are denying all knowledge of isolation shortening and he thinks they are up to no good.

DD suggested we climb Mount Everest and said could we do that as a stroll to the top or would we need an expedition. I pointed out we aren't even allowed in the country at the moment.

How sporty (or ambitious) is your DD?
My DD (well, we all in fact) would tend to admire from afar, preferably in an illustrated book.

Both dcs in-line learning next week, I have a poster to present and another assignment to do.
But.... I have had my covid vaccine. Feel
I ought to do another (extra) shift to justify it......

DD is sporty Prok but think she wouldn't get very far on Everest having never climbed a mountain before. The rest of us are waiting for a cable car to be built.

I did a full grocery shop as we’re supposed to have a snowstorm here tomorrow (Utah USA) and we’re hunkering down. I finished a crochet dishcloth with a black, grey and white colourway called “City”, I think it turned out nicely. My son and husband are watching some sci fi downstairs and I’m going to put on something scary and crochet some more :)

We're all looking forward to the weather they call 'wintry mix' here tomorrow. It's tipping down right now. Sleet/snow/rain to come.

I wrote a list of the stuff I've bought already for the DCs for Christmas and realised there are some glaring omissions, so I'll have to sally forth and try to find the items as it's too late to order them online now.

@sproutsandparsnips, congratulations on getting the Covid vaccine - how was it? Any side effects afterwards? I mean in terms of sore arm etc not whether you have had instructions from Bill Gates!

I thought, for a brief moment, that it was Friday when I woke up this morning - after a very busy week in work, I was very happy to realise today is Saturday.

I've been up since quite early and have been using a carton of UHT this week as I've been so tired with having to be away, it ran out earlier and I wanted more tea so went the supermarket for milk.

I thought it opened at 6am but it was actually 7am so I had to tap my toes for 15 minutes.

DS1 git up this morning, walked into the playroom, threw his arms in the air and yelled FREEDOM!! Can't believe we've managed to keep him in the house for 8 days (we weren't notified until 6 days after contact). He is pleased to be allowed out again. We're going to a Clip n Climb to celebrate. DS2 will trampoline with DH at the same place as he doesn't like climbing. I'm looking forward to climbing.

DD has found a function on Snapchat that identifies dog breeds. I don't know why Snapchat needs that but I'm an oldie and don't know much about anything (apparently). Anyway, it correctly identified our rare-breed dog almost every time which I was very impressed with. He's a Glen of Imaal (photo attached), the one time it got it wrong was a head shot at a funny angle and it identified him as an Irish Wolfhound, which does look quite similar but on an entirely different scale.

I tested the spill-resistant keyboard function of my brand new laptop last night by knocking over a full glass of water during DS2s ZoomBeaver meeting.
I mopped it all up swiftly and it seems to be running without any ill effects this morning. I have not told DH.

I am with DS, @SilkiesnowchicksandXmastreecat. I am slightly addicted to ice cubes.

I wish I could crochet. I am very left-handed and have never managed to successfully learn.

It is not quite overcast here, so lighter. Again they haven't distributed the snow evenly. Friends in the south are drowning and we get 7° and nothing.

I have baked 2 sorts of biscuits this morning, DH will do his baking in the aftenoon (He's the one baking to "bake off" standards).

@SilkiesnowchicksandXmastreecat I love freezer bags of crushed ice. The drink sounds really nice, like a virgin pina colada.

I can't get motivated today but have so much to do :(

So excited my rucksack arrived it’s lovely and secure.

DS has come to sit by me with a book. I asked what he was reading. He said numbers. I said oh is it a maths book. No he said, that would have words in and who wants words in a book.

He's currently doing lots of calculations, am not sure what of but it appears to be a very serious matter which cannot be interrupted with random chatter.

Just realised the date makes a nice pattern today 12/12/2020 must be DS's influence

DS just received the revision book for his math exam in the spring . Lots of past papers to practice.

I am watching the timer for our midday meal - 7 minutes to go.
