Next Friday will be the day I hope that will start the journey to finally getting a hysterectomy wish me luck -lease.

SilkiesnowchicksandXmastreecat · 11/12/2020 14:35

Good luck Holothane

Just having hot dogs with fried onions for lunch. Did English and maths with DS.

Holothane · 11/12/2020 14:57

Wonderful I’m so excited my trees up, as everything has changed but feeling on top of the world today,.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 11/12/2020 15:23

@Holothane - Best wishes to you - I remember how my mother's life improved after she had hers.

I will soon don my work dungarees and clean the bathroom and kitchen and then I'll put my window decorations up.

Holothane · 11/12/2020 16:24

I have had the year from hell in agony most of it I I want that coil and fibroid out, then hysterectomy I’ll keep nagging until I get one.

EggNogPegg · 11/12/2020 17:30

Good luck@Holothane.

I don't think DS1 did any homeschooling today. I got home from work at 1pm and he told me that he's played Roblox and Minecraft.

DH was overjoyed that I managed to pick up pigs in blankets at Aldi yesterday, so he and the DC are having a sort of fry up for dinner. Chips, pigs, eggs and spaghetti hoops. I'll have egg, chips and salad as I'm vegetarian so less joyful about the pig procurement.

DS1 is due to make a mug cake at ZoomBeavers tonight. We don't have a microwave, so I have premade one in the oven that he can eat after mixing the ingredients at the same time as everyone else.

DS is a bit gutted that the government may have just dashed his hopes of an extended Christmas break by cutting covid isolation to 10 days so school may restart on Monday. However, there is some hope for DS as school are currently saying no-one told them, great government planning strikes again.

My DS is a huge pigs in blankets fan as is the cat though the cat loves to hunt and capture the sausage first by jumping up and pouncing on it then shaking it in her mouth and we all have to be impressed by her ability to capture sausages.

Have to try and get contract and deeds signed this weekend with a witness. DH's friend has agreed and hopefully exchange will be pre Christmas and completion mid January.

SilkiesnowchicksandXmastreecat · 11/12/2020 18:10

The EA also said Asbestos Man Xmas Shock has been to our old house and said it was fine.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 11/12/2020 18:24

DD has just discovered that cheese advent calendars exist, and wants one next year.

Good luck Holothane.

Champagneforeveryone · 11/12/2020 18:29

A bullet has been dodged...

We bought DH's adult DS and DDiL a pair of Emma Bridgewater mugs for Christmas. They are very sweet and are supposed to say "Mr & Mrs" on them. What they actually say is "Mr & Mr".

Last time I saw them DDiL was definitely not a Mr Grin

forgetthehousework · 11/12/2020 18:36

During a break in the rain I decided to put up the outside Christmas decorations I've been making.
Unfortunately the break in the rain didn't blast long enough to do this.
I carried on anyway.

Me too (on both counts).

I bought some Brie de Meaux in Lidl last week. When I opened it yesterday evening to make today’s packed lunch I was annoyed to see it was BBE 8 December as the rind looked a bit funky. I used it in my sandwiches anyway with Geeta’s mango chutney and was pleased today to find it was good funky. 👌 It was at peak creamy, gooeyness and worked brilliantly with all the spices in the chutney.

I also managed to get a dry(ish) walk in this morning before the rain set in.

Holothane · 11/12/2020 19:10

Thankyou all of you, I still can’t believe it’s happening so quick last night I was gutted thinking it could be weeks away then got the phone call, so trees up bloods next Monday COVID test at home I can’t drive as registered blind, three days isolation not difficult I only visit local shops anyway, then Friday 😊

The wreath was on the front door when I got home tonight. All other decorations are in their box, awaiting the arrival of the 🌲 tomorrow.

Therainisback · 11/12/2020 19:51

My tree is up now.
I have a birthday cake in the oven.
I had a scotch egg with ham (the ham was wrapped around the egg) for dinner. I didn't much like it.

TheySeeHerRowling · 11/12/2020 19:53

Lovely to see the trees going up - we get ours tomorrow

DH's company sent us a very cute mini Christmas cake from Betty's today in lieu of the usual festive goings-on

Wish I hadn't bothered making one now

EggNogPegg · 11/12/2020 20:05

The premade mug cake was a success. We bough these ramekins with John Lewis vouchers when we got married 11 year ago. I think that this is their first outing. We were quite into Come Dine With Me at the time of purchase.

That looks yum

Squirrel26 · 11/12/2020 20:16

I made extra dinner so there would be left overs for tomorrow. Then I ate it all.

This has happened before...

KisstheTeapot14 · 11/12/2020 20:17

Wrote cards and letters to friends living in Canada and Australia.
Had a lovely chat with the post master at the PO.

He always has time to talk and smile at his customers. It's a small town so he knows many of us by name. He told me about his cat whilst I bought stamps.

I walked home (2 streets away) and admired the Christmas lights in living rooms twinkling away in the dark.

Now this is what I love about this time of year. Just the quiet stuff.

Nydj · 11/12/2020 20:19

Good luck @Holothane.

@EggNogPegg, that looks delicious.

Our freezer is absolutely rammed. I promised Ds that I would make @MissConductUS’S brownie recipe tomorrow. They need to be in the freezer for an hour or two before cutting up so I will have to take something else out for those couple of hours and most importantly, remember to put them back in the freezer when the brownies come out. The pressure is getting to me already.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 11/12/2020 20:59

I got a stash of organic non-dyed wool and bc it is cold at my desk I crochted a simple box sweater. I tried it on just now (lovely warm) and DH went and threw me a sock and called me Dobby.

MoreKnackeredThanYou · 11/12/2020 21:08

I’ve just had a really nice chicken and Brie bagel with cranberry sauce. The chicken came on the Asda delivery today and we were going to have it on Sunday, but we noticed it went out of date tomorrow so we had to roast it today.

Hahahaha Grin You should refuse to do any housework at all because 'master has set you free'. Grin
Prokupatuscrakedatus · 11/12/2020 21:45

BlackAmericano
I tried that but he thinks housework is overrated and mostly a waste of time (apart from food hygine) anyway - so it got me nowhere. Grin

We talked about christmas food - on Heiligabend it will be the traditional potato salad (vinegar + oil not mayonnaise) and sausages...
