He was lucky to get out Shock

Rememberallball · 29/11/2020 14:34

I will be on C4 later on as I gave up Sky Sports and Movies channels and I save £46 a month!!

Sparklingbrook · 29/11/2020 14:34

His car is in two pieces. Shock It pierced the barrier. Lucky, lucky man.

Yes...am actually in goosebumps...what a miracle!!

Esbm2015 · 29/11/2020 14:35

Yes shocking crash. State of the car - he’s very lucky to have walked away from that. My heart was in my mouth when I saw the fireball. Thank goodness for fireproof stuff and the halo and quick acting fire marshals!

Oh sorry-feel like I have done a spoiler now. I didn't know what we were watching it on.

I assume there will need to be a huge enquiry into everything. I don't think a car should do that, and the wheels shouldn't come off. They are on about the 'halo' but that seems to be burnt to a crisp.

Will be watching after the football.

ineedaholidaynow · 29/11/2020 14:37

How do you walk away from that!

Sparklingbrook · 29/11/2020 14:38

I have asked MNHQ to put a spoiler alert in the title. Sorry for not realising it wasn't on 'normal telly' we are watching on Sky 1 apparently.

OP posts:
Sparklingbrook · 29/11/2020 14:38

Sorry Sky F1 or something.

FoodieToo · 29/11/2020 14:41

Unbelievable. Never saw a crash like that. So happy he walked away !

Nanasueathome · 29/11/2020 14:41

So, so scary

DustyMaiden · 29/11/2020 14:42

Horrible to watch, he looks good ok, thank god.

Sparklingbrook · 29/11/2020 14:42

One of the worst crashes I saw was the Belgian GP the year Damon Hill won it-but that was multiple cars and it was sheet rain.

I am so happy Grosjean escaped that. He could have been decapitated.

addler · 29/11/2020 14:47

How the fuck he lived let alone walked away I don't know. That would've been death even ten years ago without the halo.

I've been to the Bahrain GP the last two years and was feeling a little emotional already about missing my old home, then I just burst into tears after I saw him get in the ambulance. I'm 40 weeks pregnant so think I can blame it mostly on that...

Thank god he's alright, he's incredibly lucky. The drivers and crew look very shaken.

HoldingForGeneralHugs · 29/11/2020 14:48

My brother just sent me pictures it looks terrible! Hes well into his f1 and said in all the years hes watched it (21!) hes never seen anything like it

Sparklingbrook · 29/11/2020 14:49

oh @addler Flowers

OP posts:
nosswith · 29/11/2020 14:52

No, now read about it and glad no one appears to be seriously hurt.

Sparklingbrook · 29/11/2020 14:53

There's a lot of mending going on, are they hoping to restart the race?

OP posts:
addler · 29/11/2020 14:54

I think so, which is very impressive. Not sure I'd feel great about going back out now though.

PhilCornwall1 · 29/11/2020 14:55

@Sparklingbrook

Shock
I think we both said "holy shit!!" at the same time here. Shocking!!
wheresmyhairytoe · 29/11/2020 14:55

He's so lucky he didn't break his legs as he'd never have got out.
DH is very shaken after watching it live.

dottiedaisee · 29/11/2020 14:57

addler ...bless you 💐I am not pregnant but I burst into tears as well...a miracle this guy survived 😊
