I was going to hold off posting this until at least the 1st of next month, but I don’t care, I’m posting now Grin

Anyway, what are your favourite songs? Mine are:

Fairytale of New York - The Pogues/Kirsty MacColl

Merry Christmas everybody - Slade

I wish it could be Christmas everyday - Wizzard

Last Christmas - Wham

I have loads more but I’ll be here all day listing them Grin

Fairytale of New York, always. Also honourable mention to The Darkness with Christmas Time and Elton John with Step into Christmas. Bops.

Mariah carey is only ever good for a 11:55pm Christmas Eve snog 😂

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 17/11/2020 19:05

Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses, but I wait until December 😉

AgeLikeWine · 17/11/2020 19:08

None of them.

I’m so completely sick of hearing all of them that I hate them all equally.

I love Little Town by Cliff.

muckandnettles · 17/11/2020 19:13

I never tire of hearing The Pogues, but hate all the rest of them.

Bluntness100 · 17/11/2020 19:15

Same as yours

But I like to play Michael buble on Xmas morning in the back ground, glass of bubbles and opening presents. It’s kinda easier on the ear than blasting out slade or the pogues first thing,,,😃

susiella · 17/11/2020 19:17

Fairy Tale of New York.
I also like Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses

LutherRalph1 · 17/11/2020 19:17

Step into Christmas or one more sleep by Leona 🙈

DramaAlpaca · 17/11/2020 19:20

Fairytale of New York. Mainly because it's mine & DH's song Grin

JamieLeeCurtains · 17/11/2020 19:23

I'be always liked Chris Rea's Driving Home for Christmas. A bit poignant.

Omeara · 17/11/2020 19:25

Most of them.

Shakin’ Stevens - Merry Christmas Everyone
Band Aid - Do they know...

adawong · 17/11/2020 19:52

Hey Santa Claus - Kevin Bloody Wilson.

Darklane · 17/11/2020 19:54

Driving Home for Christmas by Chris Rea

Last Christmas by George Michael

Sleigh Ride by the Ronettes

toomanyplants · 17/11/2020 19:54

Underneath the tree-Kelly Clarkson!
Most underrated Christmas song ever!!!

sunsalutations · 17/11/2020 19:56

The Christmas Song, Nat King Cole. It's just a beautiful melody

merryhouse · 17/11/2020 19:59

Slade, obviously

that one that goes dubba dubba dum dum dubba dubba dum

Mike Oldfield's In Dulci Jubilo even though it's far too fast

Have a soft spot for Do They Know despite all the colonialist claptrap

Pogues are tedious, except for the single line at the end, and I don't listen to it out of principle

Okay those last two are opposite stances... I am large, I contain multitudes... better stop listening to Feed the World as well Grin

Holothane · 17/11/2020 19:59

The Angel Gabriel I love it, once I had a cd of carols and Tudor music the pop stuff doesn’t come close.

SOboredofcleaning · 17/11/2020 20:02

Ooooo! I 💛 FTONY & Silent Night 🎄🎄🎄

Marilla1966 · 17/11/2020 20:02

The Pogues
Baby please come home
Rockin around the Christmas tree
Blue Christmas

ExpensivelyDecorated · 17/11/2020 20:10

Silent Night by Sinead O'Connor.

FONY is my most disliked.

PenguinErector · 17/11/2020 20:11

Elton John - Step into Christmas
Queen - Thank God it's Christmas
The Darkness - Christmas Time
Wham - Last Christmas
Chris Rea - Driving home for Christmas

I can't choose 😁

YesILikeItToo · 17/11/2020 20:16

Uncle John by Jonathon Coulton

All together now :
‘You know your Uncle John is gonna ruin Christmas again
Please don’t invite your Uncle John’

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 17/11/2020 20:17

In The Bleak Midwinter, sung by the likes of the King’s College choir - if proper carols are allowed.

Otherwise Last Christmas and
Driving Home For Christmas
