I can't find a thread for this year's competition, and I'll never be able to get all the answers by myself. Please help! caboodle.nationalbooktokens.com/hiddenbooks/?competition=16

Thank you, @Galacticat. I have them all. 90% of them due to this thread, 😁

Ankylosaur · 13/11/2020 16:17

Thanks all! I agree it seemed harder and less quirky this year - usually I can get at least half by myself, and the rest with some googling and a few clues, but this time I could only get two on my own, despite an English degree Blush

Trumpton · 13/11/2020 17:50

HEELLLLP MEEEE !

This is the last one !
Despite many hints I am no further !
Someone put me out of my misery , please !

TheAdventuresoftheWishingChair · 13/11/2020 18:13

Thank you everyone, I've just finished it with the help of this thread. No way could I have done it otherwise. The hams clue was genius otherwise I thought it was a bit rubbish this year!

Cherrypieces · 13/11/2020 18:34

Roommates anyone?

InMySpareTime · 13/11/2020 18:36

More a co-apartment dweller

Ankylosaur · 13/11/2020 18:40

Roommates clue: the sign is in the window of a [??] above the shop, and if you didn't have it all to yourself, you'd have to [??]. The first ?? is somewhere you could live, and the second is something my 3 year old is not very good at yet!

BigCityLife · 13/11/2020 18:48

@Cherrypieces

Old lady here - first posting on Mumsnet. I have done Caboodles for years and always managed to get them all. This year's is dreadful but I have managed to get 19 and am stuck on the damn dog. Have tried a zillion of the combinations without success - help please!

Laviellefemme · 13/11/2020 19:39

Finally got it! I am sure I put the same word in before - however, never mind. Got it at last. Bye for now.

Littlebelina · 13/11/2020 20:32

Was I the only one trying a Sue Townshend novel for the corgi?

Is it usually this hard, thought I was well read but maybe not Blush

Littlebelina · 13/11/2020 20:35

No idea why autocorrect decided townsend needed a h either

CaptainMyCaptain · 13/11/2020 20:51

I tried that first but it was actually easier than that although the book is nothing to do with Her Maj.

Its not a telescope, its a spyglass.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 13/11/2020 23:19

I am doing really badly this time.

Izabelaprz · 14/11/2020 00:17

So Bennett and half of the shops disappear
Roomate what will they share?
Talking Tuesday - word conversation is importnat

Laviellefemme · 14/11/2020 00:47

I spent ages searching Alan and Arnold Bennett and it is neither. Google Bennett and half.

When I was young many, many years ago, I lived in a grotty apartment in Chelsea with a friend. In today’s parlance we had a ? ?

Ignore the Tuesday and think about well known books by Sally R.

@RightOnTheEdge

Oh I've done nothing but look at books lately because I can't decide what to read, but I'm finding this really hard! I feel thick Blush

I've got one now thanks to Nousernameforme and your clue.

If it's any consolation I've never got any of the answers in all the years they have been doing it, it even with clues. I could only get one of the children's ones too. That's thick.
bettbattenburg · 14/11/2020 22:58

@TinyTear

Got the Canal one!!!

just need the crayfish

Think of verbal music
CaptainMyCaptain · 15/11/2020 07:54

The synonym for crayfish is not one I would use. Think American deep south. I had to use Google but then I knew the book straight away.
