I can't find a thread for this year's competition, and I'll never be able to get all the answers by myself. Please help! caboodle.nationalbooktokens.com/hiddenbooks/?competition=16

emsmum79 · 12/11/2020 23:03

Thanks for the clues - got it now but I'd not heard of that novel!

Deadringer · 12/11/2020 23:16

Thanks EmmaStone, got there in the end.

Parkperson · 13/11/2020 00:14

Still stuck on the telescope and the sunflowers, despite everyone's clues. I will try again in the morning,

Galacticat · 13/11/2020 05:50

@Andylion

Still stuck on the telescope and the sunflowers, despite everyone's clues. I will try again in the morning,
Google Thousand and Sun and book. Its the only way I could find it. And the telescope is part of the series on BBC right now. Its another name for it, and is a traffic light colour.
CountFosco · 13/11/2020 06:09

The telescope has something coming out of it that if you have read the book is a big clue.

BestIsWest · 13/11/2020 07:07

Thank you it’s two at the butchers that I haven’t got.

Saucery · 13/11/2020 07:13

What is a slang term for a nightclub where the men hang about around the edges looking at the women, Best? That’s one of the Butcher ones.

InMySpareTime · 13/11/2020 07:13

Butchers is the name of Shakespeare's son.

Parkperson · 13/11/2020 07:16

Thank you so much,@PenguinsOnParade . I had forgotten the two butchers.

BestIsWest · 13/11/2020 07:40

Finally.

steppemum · 13/11/2020 08:00

telescope.

I spent ages trying gold for telescope.

It isn't gold. The colour is not one you would think of unless you know the title.

Walkthroughthefire · 13/11/2020 10:11

Thanks everyone. Thought I'd posted a thank you last night but it obviously didn't work. Got there in the end. Lots of huffing and eye rolling as not so much fun this year!

BigCityLife · 13/11/2020 10:15

I can't get the three women... I have tried 'Girl Unknown' which isn't working and that's all I can think of!

And the second Thomas Treasures. The one with the mirror and lamp... Oh my brain!

I have 18/20...i have to complete this!

BigCityLife · 13/11/2020 10:24

I figured it out from someone's clue of Booker Prize!

BigCityLife · 13/11/2020 10:37

Finished!! Thanks for the clues everyone.
I think coming back to it this morning helped clear my brain!

Has anyone actually ever won the book tokens?

Quizzes1 · 13/11/2020 12:10

Coffee shop - translation of the title of a Japanese book

LucyCourtenayAuthor · 13/11/2020 12:54

Another word for a telescope. And think about the colour.

MadisonAvenue · 13/11/2020 13:32

The colour in the telescope one is also a girls name.

CountFosco · 13/11/2020 14:06

@BigCityLife you are so close with Thomas's Treasures. What's another word for lamp?

InMySpareTime · 13/11/2020 16:03

What's coming out of the lamp?
