Canal is the one between B'ham and London Google alt names for crayfish Cereal sounds like...? What 'cereal' somethings often feature in fiction? How could she be related to the other girl?

You're nearly there. Try making the sunflowers into a shorter word, and then think how amazing, beautiful and generally wonderful those things are. It's a well known book.
