You are in a room alone...

You are to be stuck in a room for a few hours. You can choose to spend this time with either a baby or a puppy. What would you choose?

If you can argue your case well enough, then I may consider letting you spend it with another type of creature.

I chose puppy.

Depends on the age of the baby however I would gladly swap my 17 month old for a puppy right this second...

yetanothernamitynamechange · 02/11/2020 13:43

But on the other hand with a baby their head has that lovely baby smell and they are like a little warm soft bundle of loveliness (when asleep/happy). OP you are making me broody.

Bluntness100 · 02/11/2020 13:44

If it was my daughter as a baby, her every time, if it was any one else’s kid, I’d take the puppy. 😃

VettiyaIruken · 02/11/2020 13:46

Puppy.
Baby crying is like nails down a blackboard.
With a puppy I just have to chuck a ball about a bit and knacker the bugger out .

3kidsareenough · 02/11/2020 14:29

Baby...but only if the baby can be my now 15 year old DD...i would love to spend a day with her as a baby again

M0nstermunch · 02/11/2020 14:32

My dog as a pup, she slept and cuddled a lot!

Spudlet · 02/11/2020 14:33

Puppy, every time. I can clear up puppy poops all day, but changing another person’s baby’s nappy is 🤮-city. I had to do my niece’s once in a hot beach tent, and I thought I was going to expire - and DS was still in nappies himself, so I was well practiced. But dear god Halloween Envy

Holothane · 02/11/2020 14:33

Neither books for me both are hard work, I’ve never had either.

ApplePlumPie · 02/11/2020 14:35

Either of my kids as a baby ? Definitely baby.

A random baby ? Then I will take the kitten instead !

beela · 02/11/2020 14:37

Baby. Especially if it is a really tiny newborn one that hasn't properly unfurled yet and still sleeps all the time

BabyLlamaZen · 02/11/2020 14:37

Puppy. I love babies more but they are a person and therefore terrifying to be alone with it they are not mine! Id worry too much.

Yes!
AdaColeman · 02/11/2020 14:44

I'd chose the baby, I might be able to make them smile or giggle, and to have a cuddle too.

May I have a parrot or a house rabbit next time please?

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 02/11/2020 14:44

Baby if it's a newborn, at the age where you just stick them on your shoulder with their face snuggled into your neck and they conk out.

I've never had a dog, I wouldn't know what to do with a puppy.

I can kitten, though.

I'd also accept a baby goat, they're good fun and unutterably cute with their little gangly legs and jumping on their little tippy toes.

Ghouliet · 02/11/2020 16:33

Can I have a kitten instead? Ands some kitcats, the chocolate for me, the foil for the kitten.

Purrrfect Grin

MustardMitt · 02/11/2020 16:35

My baby or nothing please.

Jeremyironseverything · 02/11/2020 17:04

The roolz

. It has to be a random baby.
. You can choose the age up to the age of two.
. No puppies with bulging eyes.
. All alternative creatures suggested have to be authorized - so far all have been approved. I had to think about the otter and paddling pool, but approved with no liability for me.
. Books allowed but must be accompanied by a baby, a puppy or pre approved alternative.
. No fish

Ok if I can’t have my baby I’ll take a puppy. Any puppy shall do. And if anyone doesn’t want their puppy I’ll take theirs too. Lots of puppies please.

donquixotedelamancha · 02/11/2020 17:15

All alternative creatures suggested have to be authorized

Great. Presumably that includes my other items.

Anyone fancy joining me for steak?

Hoppinggreen · 02/11/2020 17:23

Yay!! I get my otter with paddling pool
Thank you jeremy

Hoppinggreen · 02/11/2020 17:24

3kidsareenough as the proud owner of a 15 year old DD who I really didn’t appreciate as a baby due to pnd that brought a lump to my throat.

I forgot the cow and large knife.

Can I take back the approval on that one? 😦😱

Can I have books and a couple of kittens instead please......

xanthippe8 · 02/11/2020 17:56

I couldn't be trusted with a baby or a puppy, could I have a tardigrade please? It would stand a chance of surviving.

halloweenagain · 02/11/2020 17:56

Having had both in the past I'm only prepared to consider kittens in the future.
