What was the scandal at your school?

There was the maths teacher who was known to be a bit of a creep, who was caught snagging a pupil in the school hall...never heard from him again.
And the headmistress was caught with her hands in the till, quick retirement and shipped out.
I went to a decent school I promise!

Maths teacher and student ran away to France.. yes that maths teacher. It made the news and we had school cancelled for a few days whilst the head tried to get a grip on stuff

There were a few. Drugs, smoking, and skiving were all commonplace. As was getting caught drinking alcohol on school grounds.
Builders accidentally set fire to the roof once.

Another time my friend set fire to the side of English block.

A girl was stabbed. The lad who stabbed her also smashed a teachers face into a door.

The music teacher was rumoured to be a pervert.

Probably the biggest one, was that the deputy head is now serving time for actually being a child abusing POS. He's been inside since like 2011 (I finished school in 2009).

Oh, and the inclusion manager left his wife for a girl in Yr 9, they're now married with kids. There's at least 30 years between them.

Our middle school re teacher used to shout and intimidate us he was horrible and married a friend's aunt.a few years ago he was in paper as sent down for sex offenses against under age girls.

Quick Google says he got 3 years so will be out by now. She has an interview in cosmopolitan but I had to stop reading it is all we were in love blah blah. She was 14 !

Not my school, but local one.

A few years ago the Headteacher was being pressured by the staff for various things. She accused the union leader of sleeping with one of his students and he was suspended. Nobody believed this, and he was well respected in the community. Had been there so long he’d actually taught many of the parents. The children went on strike-with support from their parents. Local religious groups marched down the Main Street in protest. Staff arrived to teach an empty school. Head teacher locked them in. One phoned the fire brigade, who alerted the police because it was a fire risk. She was arrested and resigned. Union leader happily reinstated and all charges against him dropped.

Still talked about lots now.

Throughout school, our fave science teacher (not the one who knocked the girl up), was rumoured to be having it off (ah the nineties, can't tell it without using that term) with the married maths teacher (female). She was really nice, and pretty in that stunning way. We liked both a lot so we all kept quiet (Ish. Whole school knew the rumour).
We were all convinced that they would end up together.
Cut to ten years ago, over ten years since we left. Guy in my year group who kept his sexuality quiet due to Nineties being very different to now and his families beliefs had decided to bite the bullet and go to a gay club, just to be sure he was sure
He went to the bar and was surveying the general area when he managed to elbow someone's drink.
On turning to apologise,he realised, it was our lovely science teacher.
So that very much confirmed that the rumours were rubbish!
The guy said the teacher was lovely, he explained it was the first time he had actually faced his sexuality and had never told anyone. They got chatting and he brought up the rumour. The teachers had both known and found it hilarious, only a few of the younger staff knew he was gay but being a school run by Jehovah Witnesses (not an actual Jehovah's Witness school but they banned us from even mentioning Christmas) and old farts he knew they'd sack him with any excuse. So the maths teacher and him allowed the rumour.

A friend in my year had twins, aged 14.
The cookery teacher had an affair with a 6th form boy.
Left her husband, the IT teacher, and they moved in together.
The husband then had a fling with a 5th year girl.
Someone brought a sawn off shotgun to Sports Day (older brother of a kid put in detention)
It was a zoo ...

One of the year 11s getting pregnant. A teacher was the father. They went on to get married. And he still remained as a teacher at the school 😮

Ahhh the 1980’s. It was a different time

Over the five years I was there.

A Boy Called 999 about a non existent fire another boy brought a gun to school
Teachers having affairs with each other and the ‘local peadophile’ chasing kids outside the school gates with an axe
Oh and a rumour that a girl in our year was sleeping with her own brother. ( no idea if that was true tho)

My relative was abused by a teacher. It wasn’t fun and scandalous for us and still causes upset 20 years later. I hated people asking me about it as school. Some people still ask me about it if they haven’t seen me for a while.

Inner London in the 80’s....

Male PE teacher used to check the girls we’re having a shower (we were 14-16) and if we misbehaved in PE we had to bend over in front of him so he could gently kick us on the bum with the side of his foot. Bear in mind we wore tiny little PE skirts.

Physics teacher used to keep a can of beer open under the bench and swig when he faced the blackboard.

Biology teacher would sit so close In 1-1 detention he would be touching you from shoulder to knee.

English teacher used to drink in the pub with underage students and smoke with them.

We had organised fights between our school and neighbouring school.

There was never anything interesting at my school, the biggest scandal was the fact the kitchen staff were to tight to budget for new oil for the fryers and one day the upper schools kitchen burst into flames and we got the rest of the week off school, very boring compared to the rest of you!

Our music teacher openly drank and smoked in class, he married an ex pupil as soon as she left school.
Lots of fake bomb scares (NI) so we all had to troop out of school until we were cleared to go in.
We had a NQT for history, he was very quiet but lovely. He had terrible acne and a stutter. There was a gobby bully in my class who tortured him over his skin and stutter.
One day the boy was being his usual annoying self and was getting into the teachers face, shouting and poking him. The teacher punched him clean off his feet.
Subsequent investigation into it and the whole class except 2 of the boys friends, denied the teacher hit him and the boy got suspended and moved to another class.
In 6th college my friend was obsessed with our drama teacher who was a complete wanker. She finished her course and got a job as nanny to his children. Within a year they had ran off together. I think they got married.

My brother had a maths teacher who had a glass eye and he used to take it out and put it on his desk. He'd go out for a smoke and say to the class he was still keeping an eye on them

We also had some quite serious racial incidents too. White kids beating up a black kid, black kids beating up a white kid etc. Nasty incidents that even 30 odd years later I don’t like thinking about.

(confirmed) affair between 2 teachers, while the wife of the man also taught at the same school. the first inkling was when me & my siblings saw them together at a hotel bar while we were there for a family celebration

Oh I just thought of one, ....school trip to Normandy in year 9 my friend had sex with the coach driver, he wasn’t attractive but she threw herself at him he was in his 50s at least. We thought it was hilarious, looking back it was awful!

Yes, teenage pregnancies, teacher pupil relationships (went on to get married). English teacher uncovered by reporter as a dom holding sex parties with her dh. By far the worst a Poor young girl a few years above me was murdered one morning on her way to school. Horrendous.
