What was the scandal at your school?

There was the maths teacher who was known to be a bit of a creep, who was caught snagging a pupil in the school hall...never heard from him again.
And the headmistress was caught with her hands in the till, quick retirement and shipped out.
I went to a decent school I promise!

One teacher arrested for doctoring child porn images with the faces of students for a child sex ring.
A girl in my year made headlines for being the youngest person at the time to have a gastric bypass (34 stone at 16 years old).

@Honeyandapple this sounds a lot like my school. Either that or there is more than one school that had a giant, 8 foot knob on the front playing field.

If it was my school, and no I'm not saying if it was or not then it was done as a protest using copious quantities of ultra strong weedkiller.

Nothing else really that exciting happened apart from the usual weed and teenage pregnancies.

Apart from rumours the only one I know as fact is a pervy dt teacher was done for child abuse. Cant remember the ins and outs but I read about it and it didnt surprise me he seemed the type.

Rumour had it that the PE teacher had had an affair with the art teachers wife and he (the art teacher) punched him square in the nose in the middle of the sports hall when he found it.

I always kind of hoped it was true because, whilst I'm not a violent person on the slightest, it is a well known fact that the PE teacher in question was a lecherous, vindictive, bullying prick and to be frank deserved a punch in the schnoz for being such a monumental arsehole.

@sd249 @YippeeKayakOtherBuckets I went to the same school in the late 80s and remember when the DT teacher first started there. He was a bit of a handsy creep but no-one ever thought he was that violent.

He met his wife at the school.

We had rumours about a pupil and a technical teacher. On her 16th birthday she ran away with him and left her parents a note. Last time I spoke to her they were married and had 2 kids.

One of the maths teachers was married to the head of English. We always had suspicions about the English teachers and they got divorced. A few years ago at the airport an ex friend worked at, she checked him in heading off on a romantic weekend in Paris with his new boyfriend. Seems the rumours were true.

Two married teachers with very young children were rumoured to be having an affair - saw them everywhere together a few years later, and then they eventually married, so it must have been true that it started all those years before. They’re still together 20 years later.
Also a technology teacher was accused of sexually assaulting an underage girl in a stationary cupboard - Obviously this was fully investigated, the teacher was suspended and his marriage broke down, the girl later apparently admitted that she had fabricated it but although the teacher was cleared he was so shaken up by the accusation he went on early retirement. Who knows what the truth was with that one. Sad either way I suppose.

Married, bald, paunchy RE teacher - extremely straight and always moralising in lessons was shagging a beautiful and intelligent 4th year girl (15 yrs old would now be year 10) - she was open about it, there was much gossip and one day they proudly sat in the front seats of his car as everyone filed out of school in defiance! He was politely asked to leave (it was the mid 1980s), his wife left him and the girl predictably moved on - she is now a psychiatrist I believe. None of us could understand the attraction at the time.

The IT teacher and the Math teacher both were convicted for abusing boys.

The DT teacher threw a hammer at a child during a lesson. He maintained he threw it at the machine because the boy was doing something dangerous. Fairly sure the same DT teacher cut his finger off actually.

Various teacher scandals.

A male teacher was married to a female teacher, but started shagging and eventually left his wife for our Head of Year. We knew about the affair before it went public in my class, as he used to get us to hand-deliver flirty notes to her Shock. He was really pervy with the girls, too, so an all round creep...

A different teacher shagged a sixth former. He was a hot, young teacher and the rest of us were quite jealous Blush.

Deputy Head was a complete pisshead and would often be falling down drunk at school. Everyone just seemed to accept it. He worked there for years.

A maths teacher got an electric shock in the store cupboard and died. She was found by a pupil who went looking for her as she was taking so long.

The school was broken into one weekend and the intruders left a giant shit in the geography teachers drawer.

A Yr 8 pupil got pregnant and had her baby in yr 9. Rumours were the dad was a 22 yr old.

The English teachers were having an affair and used to leave their class at the same time to have a quick snog in the stock cupboard.

A Yr 8 boy used to get blind drunk at school - he used to bring vodka in his bag. He eventually had to have professional help.

On a German exchange, some yr 10 or 11 girls met some boys on the overnight ferry and the teachers took it in turns to sit outside their cabins all night.

On the same German exchange, the young science teacher who had come along to supervise met a bloke and turned up late to one of the school events. She was covered in lovebites and clearly hungover. She had become 'pally' with some of the older girls and told them all about her night in great detail!

A pupil set the stock cupboard on fire (with all the coursework in) as theirs wasn't complete.

Usual smattering of teenage pregnancies (including rumours that one girl who left in Year 8 went because she was having twins), teachers living with former pupils and one previous "pillar of the community" teacher banned by Court Order for communicating with anyone under 16...

@StartingGridGo I think your school wasn't a million miles away from mine (we used to be bussed there to use the swimming pool) but if you were there at the same time as that teacher you are way younger than me Smile

Lots of pregnancies in yr 11.
Science teacher was a well known perv.
English teacher was a drunk.
One of my classmates went on to murder his wife and other members of her family.

I think I might win this.

My teacher, who lived on the school grounds, MURDERED his wife over the Christmas holidays while I was at the school in the mid 1980s. He beat her, and suffocated her. He bundled her body up and was putting it in the boot of his car when the neighbour asked him what he was doing. "I'm getting rid of Mary" came the reply.

I remember it being the talk of the school when term started. We all had to walk past the scene of the murder to get to and from the school, the house was never boarded up and eventually the caretaker moved in there.

A girl at my school got pregnant aged around 14 I think? She told the school nurse who then tried to get parents involved, so the girl changed her story and said a man had raped her. She later admitted it was a lie and was thrown out. I don't know what happened to her.

At my primary school there was a hoax bomb threat made by a young lad. The police, fire brigade and all turned up, everyone was evacuated and it all got in the local paper.

The (good looking) physics teacher at my high school had flings with a lot of teenage girls (pupils) and then married one of the other teachers.

My RS teacher used to "hang out" with me in a park near the school when I was hiding behind a bush smoking. I bumped into him in town a few times on nights out and he put his hand round my waist. I think, looking back, he was angling for a fling. It didn't register with me at the time as I was a bit naive
