Can I ask a monumentally stupid question about breakfast?

I've never eaten breakfast. My mum gave up about 14 and since then I've not eaten until about midday.

Anyway, I'm trying to change my habits because I'm a bit underweight.

I just can't fathom the logistics of actually making something to eat and cleaning it all up.

I get up at 6.30 and leave at 7.30. How long does it all take you? What do you have?

Ideally something low in calories because I couldn't be doing with toast.

Overnight oats made the night before. Take it out of the fridge, eat it (or put it in the microwave first).

I personally dont find it hard at all, I could squeeze a meal into a tiny gap haha. It just takes 10mins to make and eat cereal or porridge or crumpets or toast or chop up some fruit into yoghurt. Or even just a banana to start with

Scrambled eggs are very quick to make, as is porridge if you want something warm. If you want something super convenient have a yoghurt and a piece of fruit.

If I’m in a rush or not very hungry I tend to just have a banana or bowl of cereal

Why so you need breakfast? It's now been debunked that it's the most important meal. Honestly, listen to your body.

I have porridge and it takes ages! It really delays me but I have to have it due to indigestion problems. It's really good for you so I make myself do it!
It wouldn't take long to eat bran flakes with milk or something like that.
Could you take a peanut butter sandwich to eat on the journey?

Yes, but I'd have to make it before leaving the house and bring it with me.

Scrambled eggs take ages! And having to scrub the pan. Is that not half an hour?!

I have porridge, 2.5 mins in the microwave or an omelette, less than that or fruit nuts and yoghurt.

You don't want something low calorie if you are eating breakfast to put on weight! 🤣 A couple of slices of toast sound fine.

It's usually overnight oats for me otherwise I wouldn't have enough time. Even then I usually end up taking them to go and eating at my desk. Porridge doesn't take too long either if cooked in the microwave but then you have to wait for it to cool a bit! I'm not really keen on cold cereal but that wouldn't take too long to make, eat and then rinse out the bowl?

Do scrambled eggs in a non stick frying pan. Takes seconds and then wipe the pan with kitchen roll (and wash later)

If you're underweight then you dont have to worry about breakfast calories.
Cereal takes 1 second to make and 3-5 mins to eat. Then 35 seconds to clear up...unless your kitchen is very large so it takes ages to walk to the sink.
So thats a max of 5 mins and 36 seconds.

A cereal bar takes 1 second to prepare and 1 minute to eat. No clear up required.

Why do you want something low in calories if you’re ‘a bit underweight’?

On working days I usually have 2 weetabix with plenty of semi-skimmed milk & some fruit. In winter, I usually have a bowl of porridge made with 50/50 water & milk and some fruit.

Oats so Simple in the microwave. Takes two and a half minutes, and I just chuck some frozen berries on it whilst getting ready. Perfect temperature after another minute.

Do you have a staff fridge at work? You could bring in your own pot of yoghurt to keep there, and then just bring a banana.

Scrambled eggs takes literally 2 minutes op. Fill the pan with very hot water and leave it to soak whilst you eat, then it's easy to clean.

Just put some cereal in a Tupperware and add milk when you get to work. If there's a dishwasher - perfect! Breakfast eaten with no clearing up at all.
