Come and join me
I loathe the long winter evenings, cannot abide all the snuggling
And fucking hygge and cosy can do one
Oh and no I don't want a hot choc Envy
I'm already longing for spring
Even more so this year currently sat in a lockdown
Come and get comfy and there won't be a squishy blanket or fairy light in sight Grin

Pubs in winter are great (maybe not so much with Perspex screens everywhere)
Everything else is crap - roll on spring...only 6 more months....

@Ginfordinner

I'm always bemued by the "I hate summer" posters complaining about the heat when it is 18 degrees outside, then in the same post say how much they like snuggling under blankets, drinking hot chocolate in the winter Confused
Not to mention the fact that we're lucky to get half a dozen really hot Summer days but we get cold and pissing rain for months on end.

It is just over 8 weeks until the shortest day. But it is three months after that until we change the clocks again. Why is that, why can't we change them at Valentine's Day? Is it because of the tilt of the axis or something?

To be honest I enjoy lots of things about all the seasons!
It’s actually the notion of ‘snuggling in cosy blankets with hot choc’ that pisses me off Grin

I hate bloody blankets. They tangle up and trap you. And they always seem full of dust and crumbs and bits of food

I love this thread and am so glad I'm not the only one who hates winter but longs for those wonderful spring days when the birds are singing, the bulbs are coming up and the trees have that wonderful pale green sheen about them!

I hate snuggling and hugging with a vengeance! The only good thing to come out of the virus debacle is not having to hug and kiss people you barely know on meeting and leaving! I also hate hot chocolate, blankets, mulled wine, layers of clothes and don't even own a pair of pyjamas! Films of any description make me go straight to sleep so they are out too. I don't mind Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for the food and decorations, but the whole lot is put away ready for a fresh New Year in a tidy, clutter-free house!

It is just 8 weeks until the shortest day and then the light will begin to return, even if it is freezing cold!

A find winter beyond depressing, the dark depressing mornings and early nights, I struggle a lot with SAD.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 27/10/2020 09:28

Anti-blanketeers!!!😁

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 27/10/2020 09:29

I hate layers too. Feel all bundled up and stressy in them.

eggandonion · 27/10/2020 09:54

Before my ds was born I had slightly raised BP, and was advised to take an afternoon nap. I'd like down in daylight, do a relaxation thing, wake up in the dark. That was weird. I think a nap is ruined by that. Two dark waking in one day.
I had two more kids, and afternoon naps in winter were never recommended again.

Regarding pyjamas in the daytime. It's a no no for my mental health. Getting up, washed and properly dressed for the day (so appropriate to what I will be doing) is a big part of wellbeing for me. The midwife was surprised I was up and dressed when she visited following DS2's birth but I really have to get up and moving or I sink quickly, especially in winter.
