(Socially distanced of course and in strictest obedience of all localised lockdowns and 3 or 5 tiers and whatever illogic the powers that be can dream up next)

@Onlyherefortheconspiracies

Just read this whole thread and have found my folk. Can't be tucked with this nonsense any more. Filling in a form to go a run? Gtf. The whole thing is a nonsense. I want to go dancing. Who's coming?
Love the username

You have to register to go for a run?

BogRollBOGOF · 28/10/2020 22:41

I'm not doing enough dancing, prancing or singing around the house. Too many work calls for DH all day. Plus DCs to trip over this week.

I have plans to run with a friend soon. Not seen her since late Feb.

Back on the Dr Who binge. Up to the Donna Nobel series. So much wonderful, wonderful hugging.

@acornautumn Not here but in France I heard they want to know why you are leaving the house. ' Because it suits me' is my only answer. Who has the right to tell us otherwise.

@bogrollBOGOF I love a dance round the house. No man or kids here.

Oh yes, they did that in their first lockdown.

The local police here circled the park with a loudspeaker so I ended up not going out for walks.

I was thinking that maybe outdoor exercise groups were doing T&T. I’m still unsure what happens if I go somewhere like Kew Gardens, could I get told to quarantine etc.

Evenstar · 28/10/2020 23:21

Best not indulge in any dancing according to this on my local FB page tonight 🤬

I did wonder if it was France. I remember that paperwork was involved the first time around. Thank goodness we didn't quite scrape to that level of lunacy. It was bad enough with the Dementors' imaginary rules over time exercising or sitting on benches.

I run up to half marathon distance and it made far more sense to go for a long run into the countryside and see no one for a mile or two at a time than staying local in my suburb passing hundreds of people. It was that kind of logic that set me on an AD path right from the first thread.

Ireland is back on a 5km/ 3mi limit from home.

My instructor has the barcode thing. Most of us don't bother using it. She knows how to get hold of us if needed.
We're outdoors and spaced out, it doesn't fit the 15min close contact criteria.

@Evenstarnivavtuslky wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments there, just not in the way it’s meant 😂

WouldBeGood · 29/10/2020 05:12

And goodness knows what happened with your name. I blame my dog.. had to let her out so I’m tired!
@RobinHobb I would love to know who made that meme in the firs place?

Arseholes.
I don't actually know - I just saw it posted on the village fb page (some random I don't know) and though - well, now, this is truly special....

Evenstar · 29/10/2020 07:46

@WouldBeGood it was meant to be from a “doctor” maybe the giant doctor in our favourite COVID art work?

WouldBeGood · 29/10/2020 07:52

@Evenstar yes. Tell giant doctor to pick the little doctors off the dance floor!

LivinLaVidaLoki · 29/10/2020 07:54

Ahhh giant doctor....seems quite tame now that.

Anyone else getting really fed up with being accused of being a "Russian bot", a "government plant" or "bad actor" just because we can see that there is more to life than covid. That not getting treatment for other illnesses and poverty can and do kill people too. For questioning the response to this and for not wanting to be nailed into our own homes for the next 6 months.

We have gone from being labelled as "selfish" to just not being recognised as real people now.

Its utterly depressing.

Yes but I actually feel sorry for them because the covid threads like the political ones attract some that simply cannot understand how anyone can have a different opinion.

Therefore they neatly try and label anyone who does as awful/anti x, murderer etc. It's as if they can't accept that other normal people, just like them, might not see the world as they do or hold the same values as they do and therefore any different opinions undermines their belief and must be squashed at all costs. Sad really.

Which is why these threads are nice because we all have different views but no one tries to suppress them unless we get invaded Wink

wanderings · 29/10/2020 08:06

I never thought I'd agree with the Daily Mail so much. "Don't do it, Boris!" it says this morning, re. further measures. They're almost the voice of reason at the moment, even though they might simply be going against the dementors for their own shits and giggles.

RobinHobb · 29/10/2020 08:08

@Evenstar
Another little gem.

DH is a moron. He has "expressed his opinion" and walked off (ie we shouldn't have a friend of dd (5yo) and her mum who is a friend of mine over for a play date). He happens to not like this friend so he's saying it's not "safe". Now he'd like to cower at home forever if he could (even though fit, healthy, runs 5 miles a day, slightly overweight) and he is terrified. But it illustrates the hypocrisy and laziness that is prevalent; covid is used as an excuse to not deliver service, delay, postpone and procrastinate (eg NHS).

Good to get that off my chest

Reedwarbler · 29/10/2020 08:13

I am in a state of disbelief this morning. the BBC reports (illustrated with a photo of people wearing masks outside yet again) that cases are doubling every 9 days. Well, a quick back of the envelope calculation shows that if that is the case, just about the entire population should have had covid within 81 day days, and if that is the case we will be free as we will have achieved full herd immunity within around 2 and a half months.
But, where are these people? I still do not know first hand anyone who has had it in the last 2 or 3 months. I know a couple who had it and recovered in the spring (including my 92 year old aunt). In my rural and not heavily populated S.W. area the numbers are still very low, with no cases at all in our cluster of 3 villages. yet again, it is being reported that our R number is above 2. Is it really? I honestly find this all hard to believe. Just what the hell is going on?
I also find it very hard to believe that the spread is being caused by the allegedly wrongful behaviour of citizens, as the numbers imply that just about everybody is frantically mixing and partying like it's 1999,which is not the case. Either there is another way we are becoming infected, or else (and this is more believable) nearly everybody has covid up their nose and so produces a positive test!

TabbyStar · 29/10/2020 08:25

We've got it! Or just had it. Neither of us is properly ill though. We almost definitely got it from a student. For complicated reasons we're keeping it quiet though other than telling a few people who need to know. We're not really a problem, I guess in terms of hospitalisations and deaths there's just not much NHS capacity, so you don't need that many people for it to be a problem. It's so difficult to understand what's going on though.

R4 now is sounding much more AD than usual, the presenter has just challenged lockdowns not working, and if it was a medical treatment it wouldn't pass the test for efficacy.

LivinLaVidaLoki · 29/10/2020 08:27

@JamSarnie
I suppose. Id not thought of it like that before.

There's a whole thread running in the coronazone where the op has accused people like us of being bots and paid stooges, ending the op with "fuck off and die"

I'm sick of constantly having to explain and defend my opinion and back it up with evidence when they don't. They just dismiss us as bots and stooges.

This lockdown has been absolutely fucking horrendous. Some days I feel at the end of my tether, my work hours and pressures are ridiculous, the toll this is taking on our young people is heartbreaking. But no one cares. Because I'm not on the "right" frontline no one gives a shit about the people I care for. Yet I'm the heartless one.

Aztectrousers · 29/10/2020 08:28

Thanks for the warning Reedwatbler. I shall keep well away from the bbc or in fact any news programmes today. Can’t handle any more if their shit stirring!

This makes me very sad. How awful.

@LivinLaVidaLoki, Flowers thank you for all you do and for acknowledging the harm done to young people. It helps me as a mother to know that someone besides me is worried about children. And, of course, thanks for teaching me the word malaka.Smile

LivinLaVidaLoki · 29/10/2020 08:53

@TrustTheGeneGenie
Ahhh ok.

I suppose "fuck off and die" is ok for her then.

Blobby10 · 29/10/2020 09:06

Daily Mail is quite good this morning for going against the flow of full on dementoring being exhibited by the BBC. They even have a graph showing the number of people dying from causes other than Covid and its way down the list!
