What is it about Mrs Hinch that provokes such a reaction?

I’ve only recently become aware of her but a quick search both on here and online generally reveals all kinds of reactions, not necessarily positive.

As far as I can see she’s just doing what other ‘influencers’ do ie making money out of her online presence so why does she get it in the neck to the point that people are slagging off her son (not on here) and questioning her keeping to COVID rules (on here and yes a TAAT I guess)?

She grew up in a detached house with a dad who was a company director. I don't think that makes her working class. Certainly doesn't make her 'relatable'

To you. She’s clearly relatable to millions of others. Class is a loosely defined subject and opinions differ. I don’t think the definition of class is if you were brought up in a council house or not, and you can be a company director and work your way up there. It doesn’t matter though, for you she’s not working class and because of that you can’t relate to her. I think that’s fine,

@Lollyneenah

I've just had a wee look at her Instagram- have heard of her but never paid any attention. It does make me sigh a little bit, that a pretty lady cooking and cleaning and having a baby is 'influential'. Good for her making money off it, but I would be sorely disappointed if my own dd saw her as someone to aspire to be.

Shes clearly savvy and ambitious, so I do think it's a shame for her to make money from injecting her face and tidying her house all day

I agree with injecting her face is totally unnecessary but having child aspire to someone who takes pride in their homes is such a positive thing.
grenlei · 22/10/2020 10:52

There's taking pride in your home and there's encouraging people to mix dangerous chemicals, do things which are fire risks, exhibiting wastefulness, consumerism...and her target audience are those who really don't have the money to spend. People on low incomes or benefits who can't afford to clothe their kids because they're buying all the cleaning products she recommends! (when really you can clean a whole house using variously a bleach, a detergent and vinegar. No one needs to be febrezing their soft furnishings or spraying foam into their carpet daily, or any of the other crap she peddles!).

Cheeseboardandmincepies · 22/10/2020 10:54

I love how she met Stacey Solomon yesterday in a tier 2 restriction. No social distancing etc. What a joke.
How anyone still has respect for her is beyond me when most of us haven’t even hugged our family members in months.

SweetPetrichor · 22/10/2020 11:01

I don’t hate her - I don’t care enough to call it hate - but I truly can’t understand why people get so into what is clearly obsessive behaviour. It’s not normal. Having a clean house, fine, but what she does is well beyond that. Her style and decor is utterly soulless and sterile. And ultimately, as a women working in STEM within an extremely male dominated subset of engineering, I loathe the adoration and support of women living to keep a clean home. That’s not what it is to be a woman!

ememem84 · 22/10/2020 11:07

I follow her - initially because a friend kept mentioning her and I had no clue so had a look. I like her posts, some have been super helpful for me, some of the things she's bought have also been great.

I think good for her - she's made money by posting on instagram about her life. she's been honest in her book about her anxieties, she's got another book out and a whole load of merch. the bubble will burst at some point, so why shouldn't she exploit it while she can?

Bluntness100 · 22/10/2020 11:10

She didn’t meet Stacey SOLIMAN yesterday it was an ad filmed in September and what’s injecting her face got to do with anything.

Rainbowllama4 · 22/10/2020 11:15

Wow, what spite and nastiness on here, it’s well known that she suffers from anxiety which is classed as a mental health condition. How many of you have been bleating about your mental health over the last few months, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

As for the chavvy Essex accent comment, that’s disgraceful, would you criticise a Nigerian accent or a Jamaican one, no didn’t think so. I’m speaking as someone who has a ‘chavvy’ Croydon lilt and damn proud of it.

JaneJeffer · 22/10/2020 11:31

I never think of her until someone starts a thread on here asking why everyone hates her Hmm

The grey house makes me feel weird. I thought she had used silvertone in her photos but everything is really that colour.

grenlei · 22/10/2020 11:33

Anyone can say they suffer from anxiety :)

Would someone crippled with anxiety really pursue insta-fame as single mindedly as she has? Would someone so upset by 'trolls' still plaster every detail of her and her child's life on social media for the world to see? Be so public about where she lives if she was concerned about privacy? Or is it all really just about the ££££££££s?!

I don't think Essex counts as an ethnic group so the comparison is moot. I will say her accent sounds chavvy. I come from Essex myself but some of us can pronounce our words correctly.

Bluntness100 · 22/10/2020 11:34

Gosh grenlei you are very focused on her.

Cheeseboardandmincepies · 22/10/2020 11:39

Yes she did meet her. It was obvious. Unless her nails haven’t changed in 6 weeks? Hmm Also Stacey and hinch’s dates don’t add up.
Regardless of that where is the social distancing?

What is it about Mrs Hinch that provokes such a reaction?
Bluntness100 · 22/10/2020 11:41

Oh my. There was a thread on this yesterday. Stacey SOLIMAN was live on loose women and her nails were different, she was home all day.

BoulangerieBabs · 22/10/2020 11:41

Not sure you understand how anxiety works. You'd never have known how depressed and anxious I was a couple of years ago...

And as for your repeated use of the word chavvy, you sound like an insufferable snob.

Rainbowllama4 · 22/10/2020 11:43

Yes @grenlei you are very focused, why, why would you hate someone you don’t know that much? The Essex population may not be an ethnic group but its tasteless and nasty to criticise anyone’s accent.

grenlei · 22/10/2020 11:44

I'm no more focused on her than any other idiot shilling crap on social media for money and taking advantage of people. I think they're all pretty abysmal and have no hesitation in saying so. I don't do Instagram or follow any of them for that reason.

There's more to say about Hinch than others because she's such a self-publicist.

ShalomToYouJackie · 22/10/2020 11:44

@Cheeseboardandmincepies she didn't meet her yesterday. They met in September and filmed and advert which was posted yesterday.

Cheeseboardandmincepies · 22/10/2020 11:45

You’re still missing the points.... where’s the social distancing? 🙄 Or shall we just ignore that fact and keep our heads shoved in the sand?

Rainbowllama4 · 22/10/2020 11:45

@grenlei why not just scroll past instead of spouting bile and nastiness.

grenlei · 22/10/2020 11:49

I don't hate her specifically (because I've never met her although I know people who do know her from years back and were not complimentary), it's what she does and stands for, the message it conveys - I hate the duplicity, the manipulation. Not just her of course, there are lots who do the same.

grenlei · 22/10/2020 11:52

Bile? Haha!

Have you seen a Hinch army attack? It makes any comments I've made (which are reasoned criticisms) look like compliments.

I completely agree re the blatant breaches of Covid rules. She's breached them all over the shop. She had a family party when we were in lockdown, she had a make up artist to do her photoshoot during lockdown too (which also wasn't allowed) to name but 2, plus the absence of any social distancing at any time of course!

nitsandwormsdodger · 22/10/2020 11:53

I joined Instagram at the start of lockdown and followed her
It's so weird she is the only poster I'm desperate to see each day and gutted if she doesn't post. Weird because it is just someone cleaning out her drawers or scrubbing down her sink again and I hate cleaning and barely do any
I haven't seen any lying though so that was an unfair accusation further up post? Also she never nags or shames others for their cleaning
So sad she has had so much hate she has done a lot for mental health. Suspicious of how she stays so very slim as a naturally big person whose gastric band is now off, no evidence of exercise and who seems to eats junk, maybe that will be book two....

Halloweenies · 22/10/2020 11:59

@MasksGlovesSoapScrubs

Because she's dangerous. Rather than go 'sorry guys I messed up please don't mix your chemicals this way' she deletes what she ever did. Leaving her little sheep to follow and make the same dangerous mistakes. You have a big following. Own up when you're wrong. Also plays the victim a lot and calls everyone a troll yet she will leave a comment on something that has disagreed with what she has said. Wait for her hinchers to jump in then delete her comment. Countless of tiles her hinchers have told others to kill themselves. She usually screenshots names of these people so they can find them. She's nothing but a bully and a con.
I forgot the mixing of chemicals! I remember reading 'news' articles about it - one a woman 'gassed' herself and one a woman got her whole street evacuated following her tips and I remember wondering why people see stuff on instagram/YouTube etc and just do it without doing any research of their own! There's a type of YouTube video people follow that has resulted in people setting their microwave on fire and stuff like that and I'm concerned that we have all the knowledge we could want at our fingertips and people can't be arsed to Google something and get a second opinion before they do stuff like putting werthers original in a microwave or mixing four types of toilet cleaner.
Bluntness100 · 22/10/2020 11:59

How have you seen a hinch army attack and know so much about her if you don’t do Instagram? I follow her and don’t know or see as much as you,,,

If you mean my post when you say you haven't seen any lying so it was an unfair accusation, I did put some examples later. As did many other people, as have people across many forums and social media platforms. If there's an influencer out there who doesn't lie I'd be very surprised - Lauren goodger tried to sell people cyanide because she doesn't use what she gets sent, all influencers 'love' the same product (dishwasher tablets a while ago, that was a weird two days on instagram) and so many have been 'caught out'. Its part of the job description.
