What is it about Mrs Hinch that provokes such a reaction?

I’ve only recently become aware of her but a quick search both on here and online generally reveals all kinds of reactions, not necessarily positive.

As far as I can see she’s just doing what other ‘influencers’ do ie making money out of her online presence so why does she get it in the neck to the point that people are slagging off her son (not on here) and questioning her keeping to COVID rules (on here and yes a TAAT I guess)?

Is that you Stacey?? 😉

I enjoy seeing her posts tbh, I always think it gives me a bit of motivation to wash up or clean the loo if I'm in the mood... she obviously is going down the baby stuff route and my kids have long left that stage so I'm not so fussed anymore.

Good luck to her though... I do find the constant gush of how thankful she is etc a bit grim but whatever I don't have to watch it.

I would quite like to see a kids book series cone out about the 'adventures of Ron and Hen' lol money to be made there clearly

Her following is ever increasing, I think she’s up to 3.8 million from 3.7 only a few days ago. She’s hugely successful so for everyone who unfollows her, two more follow her.

For me I suspect there is an element of envy, I can’t imagine another reason for the vitriol she gets.

I follow her but for the same reason I follow a very many others. I’m not really interested in the cleaning, I’m not her demographic, I have a cleaner and buy what she requests, so I click on by that, but I find her stories funny and sweet and the adventures of Ron and hen, very endearing.

ShirleyPhallus · 21/10/2020 20:42

@StressyMcstresserson

Shes an absolutely beautiful person, inside and out. Shes built a brand and made well over a million! If I could I would, I think a lot of people are maybe jealous? Shes beautiful, kind, amazing house, what seems like a good marriage, and now successful! Smile
How odd that threads like this always attract brand new posters who have posted for the first time that day and come on these threads to defend her Confused

Anyone who promotes a product from Rochdale is a winner in my book

I suspect there is an element of buying followers Grin have you ever had a look through her followers? There are clearly a lot of bots. So many influences do it but I don't understand why. I'm sure there's a reason but I don't know much about that stuff. Wasn't there a big scandal about another influencer buying followers a few years ago, I don't know who it was though maybe someone called Zoe or Lily. I was recommended a YouTube video about it after watching a baking video made by an influencer who does makeup and making, I can't remember her name though, she was married to another YouTuber.
StressyMcstresserson · 21/10/2020 20:54

@ShirleyPhallus how odd of you to even investigate like that? Would you prefer me to come on here and slate a woman I actually quite like? If you look at my thread I have posted today you will see it's an issue regarding my daughter. Please dont try and pick an issue because to be quite frank its pathetic

StressyMcstresserson · 21/10/2020 20:56

Also what would I gain out of "defending" a woman who doesnt even know i exist Blush

Coriandersucks · 21/10/2020 20:58

I think people are taking it all a bit too seriously - everyones got their opinions on who she is, what her intentions are etc when really none of us know anything about what goes on behind the scenes.

What we can be sure of is that no one gets to that number of followers without knowing what they’re doing and I must admit whilst I follow her and like most of the posts she puts out, I don’t like this faux ‘ooh I’ve got no confidence, I love you all, I’m crying at your messages’ etc which get posted every once in a while. But that’s social media isn’t it? Take from it what you want, ignore the rest.

Oh and I agree a baby led weaning book is incoming - just watching Stacey Solomon doing all those ‘homemade crafts’ for weeks then all of a sudden a book is coming out - very predictable!

I’d be surprised. She doesn’t need to and it tends to increase when she’s been on radio or tv or in the media, as you’d expect.

Your comment does smack of tall poppy syndrome. Sometimes we can see a successful woman and say good for you. Not find ways to put her down,

ARealActualKaren · 21/10/2020 21:06

Like or dislike her, she does not deserve the things said about her, her baby and her her dog in that vile site that is tattle. They claim to hate her but to me are obsessed. Sad really.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 21/10/2020 21:10

I am baffled by her. She's like something out of 1953.

But then again, I hate cleaning and will do just about anything to get out of it. I find it stressful rather than relaxing.

That's fine, you're allowed your opinion, I've seen the clearly bought followers but obviously her fans aren't going to believe negative things about her. I also haven't put her down, I've said she's successful and many people like her so good for her.
Bluntness100 · 21/10/2020 21:13

I’m honestly not a fan. I think some of her stories as said are sweet and endearing, I’ve not strong feelings either way.

However I’m not a fan of putting women down because they are successful. And I don’t believe for a moment you’ve seen evidence of bought followers.

randomer · 21/10/2020 21:14

@MilkandWater, great comment.

StatementKnickers · 21/10/2020 21:15

Who's the male equivalent of Mrs Hinch?

grenlei · 21/10/2020 21:21

Loads of her 'followers' are bots.

Unless you think that 'BrexitDildo' and 'CumSlut' to name but 2 accounts with 0 posts and 0 followers actually follow her?! There's thousands more where those came from. A lot of the famous for nothing crowd do it.

You can usually tell bought followers by the engagement levels a post receives, if you have loads of bots you'll get proportionately lower engagement than someone whose followers are actual people Smile

Iamthewombat · 21/10/2020 21:24

Agreed. I simply don’t get it.

I assume that she appeals to a subset of people who are stay at home parents and who have decided to try to shine in their own little way, by cleaning their houses to perfection. Well, good luck to them. It’s not my jam. I prefer a career in the outside world.

What I find pernicious about several of these ‘influencers‘, including the godforsaken Zoella, is their attempts to monetise ‘their’ angzieteeeeee. As if mental health were just another means of squeezing money out of impressionable people. Clean your house like me, using the products I recommend and reducing your world to a tiny space of housework and housewifery and you’ll feel normal again, honest, love you babes xxxx. It‘s deplorable.

JimmyTheBrave · 21/10/2020 21:29

I don't follow Mrs Hinch but one of my friends is part of the 'Hinch army' and since I've been watching her stories and seeing her updates I have been inspired to improve my home.

Only in small ways I might add, like paint another coat on that grubby skirting board or hoover more than I used to but seeing these small improvements personally makes me feel better. I feel more relaxed in a clean house.

People watch all sorts of shit on the internet. Kids watch other kids playing with toys, I like watching what people have bought from American supermarkets like Target, some people watch people cook, some people watch Mrs Hinch clean.

I don't believe that it's setting women back in the slightest. That's like saying that a degree-educated woman who chooses to be a stay at home mum has 'wasted' her education. It's her choice.

ShalomToYouJackie · 21/10/2020 21:31

Her husband isn't unemployed. He gave up work to be at home

So he isn't employed?

I don't mind her, I don't agree with promoting dangerous cleaning tips but can't get worked up about her

Don’t think so, I have a career and I have a cleaner. Can’t say I’m a fan, but I follow her amongst many others and I like the video clips of her child and dog.

You don't need to believe me, thats fine but if you ever scroll through her followers you'll notice all the bots. There's screenshots of it all over social media as well. I'm not putting her down, I'm saying I don't like her brand.
Tyranttoddler · 21/10/2020 21:51

I don't like any of the influencer thing. I think she has got her brand just perfect to make lots of money, but I don't like it. The girl next door 'can't believe this has happened to little old me' thing is wearing thin when you constantly swipe up to made plenty of money off all your followers 🤷‍♀️ It's not for me.
