What type of threads do you hide?

I hide Christmas threads (the consumerism over gifts is particularly irritating).
I hid everything trans related ages ago when it was overwhelming the site.
I have also hidden baby names because it isn't relevant to my life stage.
Sometimes I hide sad threads about serious illness.
You?

OneKeyAtATime · 18/10/2020 13:21

Christmas, Conception, WAG, Style

olivesonapizza · 18/10/2020 13:23

Breast vs bottle

DianaT1969 · 18/10/2020 13:30

Ah, I like Style. It's my light relief from serious subjects and I have actually discovered a few good skincare and clothing brands there.

How do you hide threads?

FurTeacup · 18/10/2020 13:35

@Alongcameacat

How do you hide threads?
At the top of each thread is a menu which allows you to watch/flip/hide the thread.
Ragwort · 18/10/2020 13:38

I don't hide any threads as such but I've learned to avoid any threads about sleep training after being called 'abusive' Grin, it no longer bothers me, but I do get mildly irritated by mothers (never fathers) who go on and on about how tired they are, their child never sleeps but they can't possibly try any form of sleep training Hmm.

Popcornismandatory · 18/10/2020 13:50

Conception - pretty much anything to do with kids and parenting (my kids are young adults now)
Most feminist threads , anything to do with Trans (yawn)

starfish88 · 18/10/2020 14:54

Covid. Not good for my mental health. Particularly those speculating if this is the end of the world

WonderMoon · 18/10/2020 15:17

I hide the feminist and trans threads and avoid the covid related ones....

I come on here mainly for lighthearted threads, creepy stories, things to do with beauty/skincare/fashion, that kind of thing but I do enjoy the more serious ones like parenting ones.
I avoid anything to do with sleep training...I've seen previous ones where posters just ended up bashing one another for sleep training or for co-sleeping, just nasty comments in general.

Smallsteps88 · 18/10/2020 15:21

I don’t hide but I roll my eyes and scroll past all the “am I pregnant?” “Gender guesses” threads. And any AIBU threads that haven’t written their title correctly, eg: “AIBU that a woman took my parking space?” Hmm

JonHammIsMyJamm · 18/10/2020 15:32

I don’t always hide them but I do always skip by them

Pregnancy
Babies
Schools
(My children are all past that stage)

Christmas
Royals
covid
Veganism
Weddings
Parking Wars

OrtamLeevz · 18/10/2020 15:37

I've got whole boards hidden. My dc are adult now, so all the baby stuff is hidden, as is education. FWR etc always gets my blood pressure up, so those boards are hidden too.

I don't think I've ever hidden individual threads, never felt the need to.

skippy67 · 18/10/2020 16:00

Is this racist? (It usually is)
Trans threads.
Does this sound OK for lunch/ dinner/breakfast.
Any threads that start "am I the only one who...?

anuffername · 18/10/2020 16:13

Anything where posters feel the need to type out, in excruciating detail, what they (or their DC) eat.

SBTLove · 18/10/2020 16:14

Is this a line threads! fuck me they’re relentless.

CooperLooper · 18/10/2020 16:24

Any fanatical threads about TV shows, because they're so popular and are always in my newsfeed as 'current'.

Anything to do with ADs in the title because there's so many of them and I have no idea what they're on about.

Also those threads where it asks people to respond to the poster above them - fuck off.

DianaT1969 · 18/10/2020 16:47

I agree about the AD threads - no idea what they are on about.
Threads titles where 'of' is used instead of 'have', for example "He shouldn't of taken the last cake". I'm not terribly pedantic about grammar, but that one irritates me than it should.
Anything with WAG.
I don't have a dog, but strangely love the dog threads.

OP posts:
rorosemary · 18/10/2020 16:47

Some feminist ones if I find they upset me too much.

DianaT1969 · 18/10/2020 16:49

Haha, typo when writing about grammar 😆. *more than it should

OP posts:
TeaSoakedDisasterMagnet · 18/10/2020 16:51

I’ve hidden the feminism and COVID topics. I was sick to death of reading the same thing over and over again. With the feminism ones, all they ever do is go on about transgender issues, I never seemed to see anything to do with other aspects of feminism. With COVID I’m sick of the “is this breaking the law” threads.

TheSeedsOfADream · 18/10/2020 16:55

I hide the Covid and AD ageist eugenics stuff after I've commented and reported the hate speech. Otherwise I'd get banned then I wouldn't be able to carry on doing it.

I hide the grammar Nazi nastiness after I've reported the fuckwits who think they're superior because they've pointed out somebody's mistake.

VainAbigail · 18/10/2020 17:00

Anything with the word “lighthearted” in the title
Stuff relating to Covid
Anything with the word “abortion” in it
Posts where the op has inverted an image to see if there’s a BFP line or not
AIBU to be raging/fuming/angry/‘incandescent’
Anything relating to “popping on a mask”

Hmm
AnaViaSalamanca · 18/10/2020 17:07

anything related to - politics, trans, news, the royal family, and those where people try to compare how much they earn and how much their house is worth. Those that everyone says they look younger that they are.

Oh and those that a desperate woman in her mid 30s asks if she would ever meet anyone of she should give up.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 18/10/2020 17:07

Anything along the lines of 'BFP - faint line or not?'

Invariably there isnt a line, but theres loads of posters saying things like, 'I can see the line, congrats'!, then a couple of days later the OP will come back and tell everyone its negative. Shocker.

AnaViaSalamanca · 18/10/2020 17:07

And "how to look expensive" Hmm
