About a year ago for me.

OP posts:

We go each weekend

Attictroll · 08/10/2020 06:03

Last Saturday night - I go about once a fortnight

JamSarnie · 08/10/2020 06:08

Last week.

Have been about 6 times since they reopened.

JoanApple · 08/10/2020 06:10

Yesterday.

Last night. We debated whether to go to tescos and buy food for dinner or go to a Moroccon restaurant in town.
Dilemma was about how safe we'd be eating out - decided we were safer eating out (staff in masks, plastic partitions and no one else there but us) than going to tesco to shop. Which was true but bloody expensive so can't do that every time cupboards are bare.

I'm sorry I am glad you had a lovely time, but going to resturants and/ or bars is the activity most highly correlated with testing positive. Going to the supermarket hardly at all (apart from which you presumably still need to go to the supermarket).
I had a lovely outdoor coffee in a local cafe with 5 colleagues last week, ate out once in July and once in August both times outside. I am not going into public indoor spaces unmasked at the moment.

speakout · 08/10/2020 06:17

Last week.

I'm in Scotland and it has been the only way to see people for a while- my DD and I can't visit each other. We are not allowed in each other's houses- but not in restaurants either now.

badlydrawnbear · 08/10/2020 06:18

August. In Wales with my parents. DC stayed in with my parents and DH and I attempted to have dinner out, but in the tiny place there was only 1 restaurant/ bar/ pub selling food open that sold vegan food so DH could eat. It turned out that was take-away food only, but you had to wait a hour for it to be ready, so we sat in the bar and had a drink while we waited. Last went and actually ate in a restaurant the weekend before lockdown in March when DC went to stay with my parents and DH and I went to Yo Sushi.

A few weeks ago. Really lovely meal out.

ComicePear · 08/10/2020 06:20

The weekend before last - I met an old friend for a meal. It was lovely.

speakout · 08/10/2020 06:20

I had a lovely outdoor coffee in a local cafe with 5 colleagues last week Glad you had good weather.
Last week in Scotland it was raining and around 9 degrees all week.

Which is another reason I ate in an indoor restaurant.

About a year ago for pub and restaurant, my walking group always used to go for a pub lunch after but it hasn’t been running since first lockdown as too many people and some are older.

I have been to a cafe a few times in the summer but mainly outdoor.

ChasingRainbows19 · 08/10/2020 06:26

I’ve been to a few over the course of summer. Felt very safe. I work in a hospital and feel I’m more likely to catch it on the ward despite PPE .

Just two of us as most of that time as we’ve been in local restrictions anyway. We’ve kept our distance and used gel etc. Made the most of it. Looks like we were right to do so as the North is about to have them all closed again.

I was also doing it to help Local businesses and try and save jobs although I’ve now several relatives in hospitality that have been made redundant.

ShortFatandDumpy · 08/10/2020 06:29

I went 3 times in August.
Once in the beer garden and twice indoors.

Dont like the new eating out so not bothering again until there is some kind of normality.

Albless · 08/10/2020 06:34

Sunday afternoon. I’m in Scotland and it’s currently the only way I can meet up with my young adult DS as he can’t come to my house.

RosieLemonade · 08/10/2020 06:39

2 Saturdays ago which is actually quite a long time for me to go without eating out.

carrythecan · 08/10/2020 06:40

Hopefulhalf where did you get that statistic from? The figures show that less than 4% of cases are from the hospitality sector.

2 weeks ago and only as the eat out to help out was on.

I don’t want to go anymore. Its not enjo.

ChasingRainbows19 · 08/10/2020 06:52

400 schools in GM have covid cases, several unis have large outbreaks. One in Manchester is several hundred. Bearing in mind students have already been isolating largely for a couple of weeks. And are now in online teaching ... but yeah it’s just the restaurants causing the rise.....

I haven’t heard of any local pubs or restaurants having to close due to covid outbreaks either. Plenty of schools and colleges have closed numerous year groups and bubbles. Some even the full school due to staffing issues. But children don’t spread it apparently.

It’s certainly grim up north right now.

DanaScully53 · 08/10/2020 06:54

Last pub was 2017 and only because it was PIL anniversary meal. Last restaurant was a fish and chip one in January.

boredboredboredboredbored · 08/10/2020 06:55

Monday night, met a friend for a curry. Have eaten out loads since restrictions were lifted, I don't even think about the Covid risk to be fair.

FippertyGibbett · 08/10/2020 06:56

I went to a restaurant last weekend for the first time since lockdown.
I was surprised at how safe it felt.

DinosApple · 08/10/2020 06:56

I went out last Saturday night and had a really lovely meal near Rutland Water. The food was delicious. It was a gamey pub and I had pigeon breast on a truffle mushroom risotto to start and a venison burger for mains.

It was so good to be out and eating!

ScribblyGum · 08/10/2020 07:02

We had a roast dinner at the pub last Sunday, sitting outside. It was great.
We won’t be eating or drinking inside though for the foreseeable future so am focusing on my coat and warm boots game right now.

Tomatoesneedtoripen · 08/10/2020 07:06
