Where can I get a hoody without a hood?

Dd has to wear PE kit all day once a week. As it’s a t shirt & a short skirt school have said they can wear it with a plain navy zip up top but it must not have a hood (school also said pandemic or no pandemic we will not less dress standards slip!!)
Where can I get a hoody without a hood? Needs to be warm but not fleece & must be plain navy (in ladies size, dd is age 15)

Google ' school uniform navy swestshirt' ?

nancy75 · 28/09/2020 23:40

It’s not a sweatshirt, it has to zip up (like a cardigan)

Get one with a hood and take it off? You could use some of the hood fabric to fold over on itself and sew it?

GetThatHelmetOn · 28/09/2020 23:42

Stop searching “hoodies“, all hoodies come with a good as the name implies it. Look for zipped sweatshirt.

Wtfdidwedo · 28/09/2020 23:45

You need a tracksuit top not a hoody...

nancy75 · 28/09/2020 23:46

Zipped sweatshirt brings up hoodies or fleeces, neither is allowed. I’ve tried googling zip up tracksuit top, zip sweatshirt, zip up top, I’ve tried putting in no hood. I either get sweatshirts, fleeces or zip up hoodies!

Not easy OP!

This is the only thing I can find that fits the bill:

bonmarche

Buy her a sweatshirt and be done with it. School are being ridiculous expecting parents to provide the impossible.

MummyDummyNow · 28/09/2020 23:48

Ask the school.

SomeHalfHumanCreatureThing · 28/09/2020 23:48

Mountain warehouse do this sort of thing

gamerchick · 28/09/2020 23:50

A navy men's tracksuit top will probably be your best bet.

Prettybluepigeons · 28/09/2020 23:50

Why not fleece?

Itsatoughgig · 28/09/2020 23:51

@nancy75 apologies if you’ve already asked but is it worth asking the school themselves for suitable suppliers? Alternatively ,could your local Facebook group help? I’m sure you’re not the only parent struggling to find the correct items.

nancy75 · 28/09/2020 23:51

Thank you minipie as long as that doesn’t look too much like a jacket in real life it might be ok.
They have been explicitly told no sweatshirts (this is a school that gives a detention if there is even a hint of pattern on a kids mask, they are ridiculously strict about the uniform)

@Prettybluepigeons

Why not fleece?

Because they said so!

Do you know anyone that is handy with a sewing machine ? Buy a school jumper and put a zip in it ?

uncomfortablydumb53 · 28/09/2020 23:55

Try looking for a bomber sweat

minipie · 28/09/2020 23:55

If you google Navy zip base layer you’ll find quite a few but they almost all have a half zip not a full zip, is that acceptable?

nancy75 · 28/09/2020 23:56

Wtfdidwedo thank you, but it has to be plain navy - no piping/trim allowed.
I know it’s ridiculous but I also know what the school is like if they wear the wrong thing.
I asked the school - they suggested but a new blazer for warmth. They stop wearing a blazer normally in year 9, she is year 11 so blazer would be worn about 10 times & is £98!!

Try zip up sports jacket

I found a few woman’s bit not children’s

Or try Regata wear - they make u informs and sports gear for teams and usually stick this type of thing.

Try decathlon and look at base layers for skiing
