Curry I hope you do not mind?
I put the last message in, and didn't find a new thread. Which I found disquiting, so to calm my nerves here goes.

I am feeling much better and am finally loving the house. Going to the beach for a walk along the sea front. Fresh air !

boatyardblues · 30/09/2020 08:09

Elderflower - lovely update, but definitely counts as exciting!

Koala - thanks for filling in my supermarket blank. Co-op was an obvious omission.

It’s raining here too and I have to go out in it. 😕

DrivingAgain2020 · 30/09/2020 08:13

I slept really well. I read somewhere that the best sleep happens between 10pm and 2am. Seems to have worked as I feel like I really slept for the first time in ages.

soddingkitten · 30/09/2020 08:16

DH’s late nan said two an hour before midnight is worth two after, so perhaps there’s some truth in that.

DrivingAgain2020 · 30/09/2020 08:17

@Deathraystare I hope you explained it was the end to mushy bananas in handbag conundrum. I have one. Still use it. It's great.

I also bought a blinds wiper, that broke after first use and I never sent it back, then realised it was a lot quicker just to go over blinds with a damp cloth.

Nydj · 30/09/2020 09:02

@forgetthehousework

Today I have done nothing practical, useful or interesting. Same as yesterday.
So you’ve had two perfect days in a row? How lovely Envy
thebabessavedme · 30/09/2020 09:09

may I join in? today I will be pickling my onions in time for christmas and then picking up my dgs from school (reception, so I get a lovely welcome from him Grin)

lachy · 30/09/2020 11:01

@Deathraystare

There seems to be an unfeasibly amount of acorns this year

And Horse Chestnuts. Loads around Leeds Castle.

Lachy - Yeah Lakaland is like Crack. If I had the money I would go beserk. I once bought a banana holder (banana shaped for a single banana. The box was delivered to my then place of work. Someone opened it and decided it was a sex toy.......

[Clutches pearls]

Lakeland would NEVER sell such filth!

GrinGrinGrinGrin

Today I'm making a bag.

Lazysundayafternoons · 30/09/2020 13:41

I didnt get any deliveries from the postman today.

FawnDrench · 30/09/2020 13:48

I was going to have a bowl of Rice Krispies but decided not to in the end.

It hasn't rained here yet, despite the forecast being 95% definite that it would rain at 1.00pm.

Weather forecasts aren't what they used to be...

PollyPelargonium52 · 30/09/2020 13:52

My monthly hair dye finally came in the post.

Lazysundayafternoons · 30/09/2020 14:05

I have half an hour to myself and Netflix isnt working Sad

Spudlet · 30/09/2020 14:29

DS is at home today with a cold. He’s quite energetic, but in a manic sort of way 😬 Meanwhile DH has tried to go for a bike ride during his lunch break and got another flat, so he’s currently really pissed off and talking about giving up cycling for a while, which isn’t great. Ddog is whinging for no reason that I can discern. I’ve baked some beetroot and cranberry cupcakes which are nice, but apart from that I’m just trying to field all the temperamental males in my life, and I’m knackered already...!

MissConductUS · 30/09/2020 14:39

Oh my, so much to catch up on! Re shopping, thanks so much to all who posted to give me a better understanding of your supermarkets. From their website Waitrose seems a lot like Wegman's. Supermarket chains are regional in the US and Wegman's (or "weggie's") is a northeast chain, so many American's won't have heard of it.

@Susannahmoody - it is a bit of fun when a guy takes an interest. Last fall I was taking the train from NY to Philadelphia for a conference and a very attractive man started chatting me up. He was getting off in the City of Brotherly Love as well and asked me to have dinner with him! You could have knocked me over with a feather. I told him falsely that I already had plans as I was afraid that I would wind up as dessert. Grin

Re your neighbors, if you fancy getting to know them better have a word with the woman about it. Perhaps they're a bit shy.

I'm a bit of an amateur meteorologist and have a weather station on our deck that streams all of our weather data onto the internet so that I can see it on a web page or in an app and it stopped working last night. DH, who is quite techy, went out in the pouring rain and fixed it, bless his heart.

I got up early, fed the cats and was getting changed for my run when I realized it was pouring still. I found an old Gore Tex running jacket with a broken zipper, put that on and went anyway, then came home looking like a drowned rat. I ordered a new running jacket last week and it's supposed to come today. Let's hope it fits. Smile I've already had to send one back that didn't.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 30/09/2020 17:21

Elderflower - Hello Elderflower son, nice to hear from you!

Warmish and sunny here, I ended the month with a plus in my time account, which is reasuring.

I cleaned the bio bin.

DS and DD are back from school. Both seem a bit unwell. DS fell asleep after school then was woken by our nieghbour having someone drilling to repair fence and that woke DS up and he started screaming so there was screaming plus high pitched loud drill. Thankfully it only lasted a few minutes but had a lovely e-mail from neighbour saying sorry about the noise and sent one back saying sorry about the screaming!

One of the neighbours asked DH to jump start their car with ours, DH was pleased to be of use.

DD is currently asleep, still with cold and feeling sick but no fever or cough and insisting on going to school. At least Friday is teacher training day here so both kids home then.

Another viewer on our old house, same feedback as 8/9 before lovely house but garden too small.

Still on antibiotics and have to be careful with eating so just yoghurt, spinach and ricotta canelloni and frosties so far today!

Champagneforeveryone · 30/09/2020 19:03

Today I bought a stove fan - it will be here tomorrow.

user1464552773 · 30/09/2020 19:12

I like this thread.

Today I put too much chipotle paste in the slow cooker chilli.

KoalaandRabbit · 30/09/2020 19:15

Gosh I forgot our new outside light arrived today.

0blio · 30/09/2020 19:26

@MissConductUS Mmmm Uncle Giuseppe's cheese! And the cakes...far too exciting for this thread Grin

Today I worked from home and again didn't cut the grass as it was raining. It's black bin day tomorrow.

SpeedofaSloth · 30/09/2020 19:48

My nightshirts have arrived, only one is wincyette, I made a mistake on the cyberjammies website. I am going to try one tonight.

BusyDreaming · 30/09/2020 19:49

I’ve spent a significant amount of time today mulling over the pros and cons of the new series of All Creatures Great and Small versus the original.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 30/09/2020 19:49

The last couple of school years I've had to upload the DC's school IDs to the site of public transport to ensure they continue to travel for free.
And every time I cannot remember how to do it.

I'll try again tomorrow.

My dad made me a rake today.

We have a squirrel in our garden which is really tame and my DS has called him Darth Nut
