Curry I hope you do not mind?
I put the last message in, and didn't find a new thread. Which I found disquiting, so to calm my nerves here goes.

DH cooked a curry for tea tonight. Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary, so I got a Cook lamb tagine from the shop so we can relax.

Taswama · 10/10/2020 19:22

Sent my mum a picture of me in my new jumper (from Woolovers) and she said it was a lovely classic colour.

Strawberrycreamsundae · 10/10/2020 19:33

I have just eaten a whole packet of chicken satay skewer things, I’m still hungry.
I don’t think an apple will make much difference ☹️

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 10/10/2020 19:38

Nope, but the apple will make you feel healthy and virtuous.

@OublietteBravo well done! It must be the day for getting such jobs done - I've finally removed and replaced the sealant round the bath.

I've had the tube of new sealant for so long I had to check it hadn't seized up, once I eventually put my mind to doing it.

SpeedofaSloth · 10/10/2020 20:25

I tidied DD's bedroom. I filled half a black bin sack with broken toys and bits of paper, and filled the hoover too. It's all lovely and girly again now. It probably won't stay that way for long.

HelenaJustina · 10/10/2020 20:44

I cleared out two long gutters at work, in time for the autumn leaf fall to fill them again.

MissConductUS · 10/10/2020 21:17

@Prokupatuscrakedatus

Nope, but the apple will make you feel healthy and virtuous.
Apples are high in fiber, which is like sunshine and rain for your intestinal flora. Healthy gut bacteria are a vastly underappreciated factor in good health.

I've just had a lovely nap. Mr Mingus woke me up, wanting to be let out onto his deck. He did give me a nice cuddle before waking up.

I'm having a really good coffee while listening to the BBC news on the radio. It's carried by our National Public Radio station in New York. DH has gone to pick up DD from her job, then he's making burgers on the grill for dinner.

I'm a bit unhappy that I have to ring the dentist on Tuesday and make an appointment to have my tooth pulled. The good news is that Monday is a national holiday here - Columbus Day. It's supposed to rain buckets as we get the last bits of a hurricane that hit the gulf coast yesterday.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 10/10/2020 21:25

Miss
Good luck with your tooth. The dentist wants to save mine, so he wants to discuss going in from the tip of the root. He is very enthusiastic about his job ( and great at it).

I still haven't cleaned the bathroom.

I sat on the sofa all afternoon. We've just had takeaway curry which actually isn't really dull news, it's quite exciting because we're not in the UK and good curry is not easy to find here. Sorry, exciting news isn't in the spirit of the thread, but I had to share.

MissConductUS · 10/10/2020 21:34

I was at Shoprite this morning to get a few things and looked for Jaffa cakes. I was surprised to see that they have an amazing selection of imported cookies biscuits, mostly Italian. No British treats to be had, sadly.

Good luck with your tooth too @Prokupatuscrakedatus. Is it having it's first root canal? With a cracked root mine is doomed. At least I can get an implant to replace it. I already have 4 implants. I should really get this one for free.

mathanxiety · 10/10/2020 22:55

Happy to report the presence of Jaffa Cakes, Hobnobs, and also McVitie's digestives in one local chain's large supermarket near me. No choc covered digestives, sadly.

Best of luck with your tooth. I had a root canal many years ago and found to my delight that my dentist had a doodly dad that fit over my eyes and ears to show movies and drown out the sound of drilling and whatever the heck else was going on in my lower jaw. I saw all of Apollo 13 and a few minutes of Mission Impossible, and ended up with a nice new tooth. Or 'tuth' as my dentist calls them.

mathanxiety · 10/10/2020 22:58

One of my DDs is snoring so loudly on the couch that I can hear her from the desk nook where I am sitting.

MissConductUS · 10/10/2020 23:08

Math which supermarket chain is it that carries such a fine selection?

DH snores too. You have my sympathies.

mathanxiety · 10/10/2020 23:18

Jewel, a local chain - but they only have this selection in one of their bigger locations, as far as I know. Maybe more of the bigger supermarkets, but in general they are not so great that I would drive out of my way to research.

KoalaRabbit · 10/10/2020 23:36

DH was going to get DS and I some apple and rhubarb cake and custard from our supermarket but it was closed due to a powercut. Sad So I had weetabix with hot milk and sugar and a yoghurt instead.

We have hundreds of different biscuits at our supermarket - DS loves to eat his own weight in bourbons and custard creams. DH hides biscuits from DS but DS often still finds them.

DD went out to spend half the day with a couple of male friends from school. DH got a new tap.

Frownette · 11/10/2020 05:45

@MissConductUS just for the glam new yorker with a very fine deck.

I may have to do a face to face job soon, despite COVID (the shock!!) so needed a jacket. Mine are in storage.

Frownette · 11/10/2020 05:57

I just need my skirts now

I'll be able to get to my storage unit before the end of the month (it's about an hour away) but have a couple of plain dresses on me which would go with jacket. It's costing me a fortune renting 2 places.

Frownette · 11/10/2020 06:31

And this is the book box I received recently - tealight is lit, apologies.

I was really happy to receive a book, chocolate, teabags, tealight and face mask for £12.80.

I'll probably squirrel away face mask and chocolate for stocking fillers for Xmas.

KoalaRabbit · 11/10/2020 06:40

DH said poor poppett in his sleep then woke up. I asked him if he was dreaming about our cat and he said yes. He calls her poppett.

BillywigSting · 11/10/2020 06:55

In work again today. I am on shift with a bright young thing who thinks she knows how to run the whole building after being here for two weeks so I'm going to have to be somewhat assertive today I think.

As it's a sunny all the residents (and staff if they want it) get a roast dinner. I'm hoping they've got lamb but they probably won't as they did that last week.

I washed my hair last night but didn't blow dry so as not to wake up ds and it's still damp. I can't blow it now either for the same reason so I'll just have to stick it in a bun and put up with it.

Dp bought some more sawdust for the hamster which is good because we were running low.

ladygracie · 11/10/2020 07:00

I have woken up with a sore throat, heavy eyes & feeling a bit rubbish. So that’s sad. Was planning to see two friends today but will have to cancel now.
Hope you have an okay shift & it isn’t too annoying to work with a know it all!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 11/10/2020 07:05

miss
My tooth lives with a provisional crown since 2015. My dentist is very much into keeping teeth in.

Inspired by PP I am reviewig my Christmas list - I may (trad.) start baking after St. Martin.

OP posts:
Deathraystare · 11/10/2020 07:16

We have no ice cream. Now I have to silently suffer.

Oh that is sad! I don't have any either. I have come to the conclusion that only Mr Whippy's or Kelly's clotted cream will do. As Kelly's is not on offer at the moment (£4.00) , I have to go without :(

Pluckedpencil · 11/10/2020 07:18

I am going to a thing tonight about Fellini. I say thing, because all I know is that there will be music. I'm not sure whether there will be a film or whether I just have to listen to someone knowledgeable talking in Italian. It's free, so whatever!
I may go to IKEA for a desk because after 8 months I'm starting to realise that maybe it's time I invested in a 40 quid IKEA desk to avoid clearing up breakfast every day before I start.
