Curry I hope you do not mind?
I put the last message in, and didn't find a new thread. Which I found disquiting, so to calm my nerves here goes.

It is cold in the office with the windows open, so I have ordered 2 cheap pashminas off ebay.

boatyardblues · 08/10/2020 21:04

Two Amazon parcels turned up at home a day early, which is good because I thought I’d arranged for them to be delivered to work and I was home today. The new washable face masks keep pinging off my right ear. Does anyone else have this problem?

ScaramoucheFandango · 08/10/2020 21:22

Yes I have a pinging face mask.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 08/10/2020 21:41

Mine (the stripey one with the beetles) gets tangled up with my glass handles (?) (the stick over your ear things). I take it off and send my glasses flying.

I think this may be dangerously verging on exciting.

I am having 'ahem' bum issues and tried a new Chinese herbal cream just before coming to bed. I feel very erm 'fresh' 😳

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 08/10/2020 21:59

Are you sure you got the right tube?

This thread is making me want jaffa cakes.

The kitchen tap is leaking a bit around the base.

Your second sentence has totally nailed the spirit of this thread. 👌

I've got an asda delivery coming on Sunday

cheeseychovolate · 08/10/2020 22:41

I'll try the hot water. Thanks

HelenaJustina · 09/10/2020 06:30

I boiled exactly the right amount of water for my morning coffee.

BillywigSting · 09/10/2020 07:05

My stick blender and Ds's slippers arrived yesterday. No one was in so the delivery driver hid them behind the wheelie bin and they both got rained on. The slippers and the blender are both fine.

Dp came downstairs before me this morning so I had a cup of coffee waiting for me.

Have to go into work for my induction today (despite the fact I've been there two months now and ran the floor myself yesterday). I'll get paid for it though so it's not all bad.

I have no idea what to make for dinner tonight. I'm hoping one of those 'what are you having' threads pops up. They're always very inspiring.

I am continuing to be as nice as pie to arsehole deputy manager so she has no reason to pick on me. She can try to throw her weight around but I'm not as green as I am cabbage looking and she'll not get away with it with me.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/10/2020 07:21

We need to change a kitchen light, but it was there when we moved in, it was there when our LL bought the place - so at least 25 years.
DH went up on a ladder to take fotos, as we (LL and us) have no idea how to replace them. I'll take the fotos to my local DIY store and ask them.
I need to buy one of those solar powered paw waving cats for DS 18th birthday, too.

I had a Sainsburys delivery last night, and the only substitution was white toilet rolls instead of warm natural.

OublietteBravo · 09/10/2020 09:35

I have somehow mislaid my pen since starting work this morning. I’ve no idea how this is possible. I haven’t been anywhere and my home office isn’t very big. And the only other person in the house is DH - but I’m certain he hasn’t been upstairs.

Sunbird24 · 09/10/2020 09:36

I was supposed to get a call from the dr at 0900 and I’m still waiting

Spudlet · 09/10/2020 09:39

I’m about to start applying for another job. Not feeling particularly excited about it, but needs must.

I have a chicken, cider and red onion pie for dinner from the village shop, and two boxes of Jaffa Cakes because they were on offer.

It's been a very exciting early morning here.

As I was putting my shoes on to go running I heard a very loud lorry coming up the hill to my house, moving very slowly. I caught a glimpse of it in the dark out my window and it looked quite odd. It's very unusual for us to get commercial traffic this early. When I left I realized that it was repainting the double yellow lines in the center and the white lines at the edges of the road. They do it about every 5 years and today was the day.

While out running I saw a meteor in the southern sky. It was quick, about a second before it burned out. I only see about five or six a year, so quite an event.

It's been a bit historic today and the day is only just begun.

I'm off to take my shower then I'll slip back into bed to wake up DH. We'll cuddle and chat for about 10 minutes before getting up. It's a lovely way to start the day.

I have become the Frosties tiger, just eat my second bowl and had my antibiotic. It's helping but feel so dizzy and itchy today. MissC The doctors normally do take a urine sample here but I had first lot from online, second from 111 and third and fourth from my doctors who are pretty much phone only due to covid. They now have a sample, I did a home test kit as well and all 3 changed colour and were positive. Antibiotic 2 and 3 helped a lot, it just came back when stopped antibiotic 3 so have more of them. They did suggest going to A&E when they prescribed antibiotic 3 but didn't want to, they seem to send to hospital more easily than normal now. This time they spoke to me nicely but like I was a very stubborn old person. Grin

EA still hasn't updated photos and price, hope he will do it today.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/10/2020 11:04

I have never seen a meteor - but I have often seen the repainters of road signs. So I'll be content.

Back from the DIY shop - I have to take out the whole lamp to get at the back of it to remove the light and then we are not sure if the system still exists. We decided that this is not worth it and will simply set up an additional lamp.

I met my dog walker as the dog and I were coming back from his morning walk and she said traffic is bad because the main road is closed so everyone is going round the back way.

(The dog doesn’t usually spend all day being walked by a succession of people. I took him out very late because I’m not working this week and I was sitting around drinking coffee and she came to pick him up early because of the traffic.)

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/10/2020 12:02

DH is waiting for a load of books from the publishers. They come via DHL. They have been loaded into the delivery van. Now I sit here, next to the door, hoping the DHL person actually rings and doesn't think 5th floor!? We would actually come down to him to get our stuff.

I think I want some houseplants. I think that would make me happy. Does anyone have them? What do you have?

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/10/2020 12:53

Houseplants are great - we are just starting out with them (bc. no cat) We have monsteras, coffee plant, dragon tree, a hibsicus, different cacti and this: I have no idea what it is but it is indestructible and grows like mad.
