Curry I hope you do not mind?
I put the last message in, and didn't find a new thread. Which I found disquiting, so to calm my nerves here goes.

Jaffa Cakes are diet kryptonite for DH. He can’t leave an opened pack unfinished.

There's something very wrong with the idea of leaving an opened pack unfinished. It would keep me awake at night.

Going to have Jaffa Cakes with my bedtime cuppa and if DH doesn't want any, I will very kindly eat his Grin I've also added Chocolate Hobnobs to the shopping list as I haven't had any for ages!

AnneBoleynsHead · 07/10/2020 22:19

Made lentil shepherds pie for tea. DD1 agreed that it was delicious but was disappointed that it didn't have real meat in Hmm

Had to attend a meeting for work tonight. Thought it Went well but my boss texted me after to say she'd been cornered after by 2 members ( who are both arrogant arseholes). She's new & brilliant but stuck with dinosaurs. Confused

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 07/10/2020 22:22

Taxes have been filed - DH feels virtuous.

I've just made a real mix-mash supper and am now outside enjoying the night air.

How ironic our heating came on yesterday just as the weather improved.

KoalaRabbit · 08/10/2020 01:47

Just had a yoghurt and some frosties. Cat was happy as she got a cuddle and agreed it was time for her first breakfast.

Susannahmoody · 08/10/2020 02:11

I've written myself a note for tomorrow : 'eat ham'. I will try and remember.

It rained today. Brightened up after dinner, so took kids on a walk. Very windy, loads of leaves. Meant to be fine tomorrow.

Don't get me started on Teams. I can't work out how to open up more than one window!

KoalaRabbit · 08/10/2020 03:58

I've just ordered our Christmas food / turkey etc - got a click and collect slot for 1pm on 24th December and get a free bottle of prosecco. I've never managed to get a click and collect slot for Christmas before. We normally get food from the butchers or go to a restaurant but suspect maybe in lockdown then and not able to get to butchers or restaurant. DS will be happy as I got 36 pigs in blankets and 12 triple chocolate cakes. DD has her vegan stuff. DH has his cheese. And the cat has her big chicken (aka turkey).

BillywigSting · 08/10/2020 06:14

I am trying to get ready for work but dp is hogging the bathroom. He doesn't have to leave for half an hour after I do so it's making me a bit grumpy.

soddingkitten · 08/10/2020 07:09

The weather is miserable here today, wet and windy. I was planning to go out for a walk first thing and I should already be in the shower to be up in time. I’m still in bed, warm and cosy under my quilt.

BillywigSting · 08/10/2020 07:19

It's miserable here too.

I have booked myself a taxi to work. It's only a mile and I usually walk it, only takes 20 minutes, but I don't fancy spending the rest of the day damp.

I'll walk home even if the weather is rotten because I can get straight into the hot shower and cosy pj's

Was woken in the middle of a very strange dream this morning. Madonna was the president and refused to leave the White House, she had a proper tantrum. But DS woke me up before I could see what happened next. Bizarre. Confused

Now feeling a bit dazed!

Frownette · 08/10/2020 08:12

I was a bit grumpy earlier as friend called just as I was trying to drink my tea.

I told him that and he said to stay on the line - the nerve! I put my foot down and said I'd call him later.

giletrouge · 08/10/2020 10:00

Woke up in the night thinking about the Pence/Harris debate, so logged on the laptop and watched a bit.

Back to sleep. Up again at 6.30-ish. Instant discussion with DH the moment he woke up about the Grayson Perry tv series which he's watching and I'm not.
I'm now going to have a mid-morning crumpet with butter and attempt to drag myself away from the world's dramas and do some of my own (creative, unpaid) work.

giletrouge · 08/10/2020 11:31

Post arrives. As always, I have ordered enough from Amazon to not pay postage, and they have split my order up so things arrive in ludicrous dribs and drabs. This morning's exciting arrival is a single (tiny - 21 mls) tube of watercolour. Pic for size reference. Mug is giant - I like a good bucket of tea.

I’m isolating, so I’ve decided to become beautiful and emerge like a butterfly at the end. I’m currently sitting with a hair colour and face pack on, looking anything but beautiful.

Frownette · 08/10/2020 11:53

@Imissmoominmama it's the crysallis process :)

Bear with it, you'll emerge a butterfly

Imissmoominmama · 08/10/2020 12:38

Thanks @Frownette - I left them both on longer than I should (colour was only a gloss, so no harm done) because I got a phone call. I’m bloody gorgeous now!! Grin

BabyG08 · 08/10/2020 12:45

Miserable day, DS has his first set of jabs later.
I’m eating a whole pack of biscuits for lunch with a cuppa. I have no shame.

QuestionableMouse · 08/10/2020 13:04

Have some beautiful cod fishcakes for tea. They're from a proper wet fish shop and I've had them before. Bit pricy but totally worth it.

Waiting for the washer to stop spinning so I can put the next wash in. Seems to be taking an age. Can't decide if I should do towels or the dark wash.

kitschplease · 08/10/2020 13:14

bought some soup for lunch - and a massive box of jaffa cakes thanks to this thread!

amieejust · 08/10/2020 14:26

DH and I still reeling and very sad, after a week of silence and waiting, to learn he was turned down for a job which he interviewed really well for, the job was almost offered to him on the spot. Could have been the answer to our prayers Sad

Anyway in other dull unexciting news I'm about to get onto my laptop to look for jobs for myself. Looks like some of the supermarkets in my area are recruiting.

SallySeven · 08/10/2020 14:40

So sorry for your disappointment @amieejust.

Frownette · 08/10/2020 14:45

My mother buys me useless tat for Xmas. I tried to pre-empt this by buying my own Xmas present. I told her this week and she has already bought mine some fucking rubbish for Xmas. AAAARRRRGGGGHHH! I thought I had got in early. Not early enough. She's going to have to take whatever useless thing she's got me back, I hate her presents. I'm very careful when I buy her things that it's useful or suits her or something she's asked for.

@Imissmoominmama that sounds good! You glowing little thing

Kpo58 · 08/10/2020 14:46

I have spent much of the day buying the last 2x2 IKEA Kallax unit in oak colouring in England. The only one left in IKEA in the UK is in Belfast.

Yippeeforme · 08/10/2020 15:19

I don't care that I'll be heading to per during with this evening, I'm having this entire pot of tea because I'm tired and cranky and addicted.
