Curry I hope you do not mind?
I put the last message in, and didn't find a new thread. Which I found disquiting, so to calm my nerves here goes.

Leftover cheesecake huh?
Not for long I'll wager...

MissConductUS · 06/10/2020 17:37
@MissConductUS hope you're ok. Soup for lunch sounds like the right thing for these autumn days!

I'm about to start frying halloumi- food of the gods! Dinner will be halloumi cubes with pasta, mediterranean vegetables, passata and herbs.

I'm looking for a good series to watch with DH once the children are in bed. Can't seem to find anything on Amazon Prime and we don't have Netflix.
I'm fine, thanks. The medication works a treat, so I'm happy to get it.

I've never had halloumi - will have to give that a google.

Re amazon prime, have you watched the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel? Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan was also great.

Nydj · 06/10/2020 17:39

Another busy day at work for me and instead of just doing my usual part-time hours, I didn’t finish until 5pm 😱. Didn’t get chance to eat lunch either so double 😱.

We are having chips and veggie fingers (me), sausages (ds) and veggie bake (dh) - the veggie bake is really a pie because it has pastry but greggs call it a bake.

bearlyactive · 06/10/2020 17:45

I only have one cheesecake recipe with gelatine in - it sounds so wrong, but I've tried the recipe without it and it's just a gloop!

I've had battered halloumi before when Beefeater were doing it, but it didn't really appeal to me. Grilled might be okay though... will have a think!

boatyardblues · 06/10/2020 17:48

I saw a fantastic rainbow on the way home. I took a photo and Whatsapped it to DH commenting on the ‘hige rainbow’ (texting as walking). He replied “yes, absolutely hige!” Arse!

I still have two good-sized slices of apple pie in the fridge, miraculously. I've covered them in foil so I can't see them when I open the door. Grin
Prokupatuscrakedatus · 06/10/2020 18:09

Now only DH's slices are left - you know those with cherries and raisins in.
I still need to use up the hazel nuts.

I have just finished supervising Y7 DS' homework. I feel like his homework is mine at the moment, I am very much hoping that he finds his own motivation at some point.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 06/10/2020 20:10

DS's helper just mailed that DS (and his teachers) seem to cope well with him being off medication.

My migraine has arrived - I am going to bed with pain killers and a soothingly read audio book. I havn't identified the trigger yet.

Whenwillow · 06/10/2020 20:16

@Prokupatuscrakedatus I hope your migraine passes quickly. Vile things!

I got soaked to the skin twice today. Now I'm in my warm PJs, drinking tea, watching a TV programme about the blitz, whilst cuddling my cat.

giletrouge · 06/10/2020 20:29

Sorry to hear you've got a migraine, Prokupatuscrakedatus. Hope it's better soon.
I'm having a wee tipple of whisky and ginger wine (a whisky mac). A rare thing - I hardly drink, can easily go weeks without even thinking of having a drink. I think I feel moved to have a drink this evening because a) I've had a good day b) my younger daughter is soon to give birth and has just been given an induction date because she has obstetric cholestasis so I now know that in just over a week (all being well) she'll have her baby and c) just watched Trump on tv make an arse of himself.
It's all a bit much, hence the alcohol.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 06/10/2020 20:41

Thanks gilet and willow
3 days of low level pain and nausea is usually my lot. Oops it started to pour down there you go. That's why.
All the best for yor daughter!!

Thank you. I'm finding this thread a very calming influence at a time when that's just what I need. So thanks for starting it (and whoever it was who started the whole thing).

Imissmoominmama · 06/10/2020 20:49

My blisters have compeed plasters on them and are throbbing even more now.

lucysmam · 06/10/2020 20:55

I've just twisted my right knee funny, shutting the bathroom window Hmm. It hurts :(

ladybee28 · 06/10/2020 21:04

Have any of these threads made it to Classics yet? It's basically my favourite thing on the internet this year.

Sunbird24 · 06/10/2020 21:08

I think the first one did, but can’t remember!

I got a Beauty Sleep Hyaluronic Mist in my Birchbox today - it doesn’t come out as a mist, more a jet...

ExerciseBeaver · 06/10/2020 21:08

I boiled an egg for an hour.

I went into work for my covid test and was accosted by the deputy manager. I have well and truly made up my mind that she is a colossal tit.
Met up with lovely colleague and had a coffee and a catch up (and very nearly didn't have time for shopping before school run)

Put a tearful (tired) ds to bed at around 7 and then flopped on mine.

I couldn't decide whether I wanted to go downstairs and bother dp or browse Amazon seeing as I accidentally signed up to prime when I was buying slippers for ds before. (why does no shop ever have anything in his size? Was there a mini baby boom in 2013 or something?)

I went downstairs and watched an episode of ancient aliens for a giggle but it just made me a bit grumpy.

Think I might go to bed soon I could do with an early night.

KoalaRabbit · 06/10/2020 21:39

Prok Glad your DS is managing well without meds but sorry about your migraine.

Billy Your cat is so gorgeous. I've always wanted a long-haired cat.

DH is playing the piano. Just eaten scampi, veg and bread and butter with dinner. Estate agent has redone 2 photos. DS and DD went to school and DD says there's drama there and its not the subject.

Squirrel26 · 06/10/2020 21:41

There aren't many biscuits left. I'll fix that tomorrow.

BillywigSting · 06/10/2020 21:50

I've just had a toasted muffin because I was hungry.

Dp said I need to stop snacking.

I told him no.

HelenaJustina · 06/10/2020 21:53

I’ve missed this most recent thread! Love it so much.
I’ve had homemade parsnip soup for dinner, it was delicious but in a calm soothing non-exciting way.

soddingkitten · 06/10/2020 22:10

DS2 ate my BBQ Pringles when he got in from school. They have Doritos and I never get a look in, so I treated myself to some Pringles. Now vanished. 😞

Sodding has had a low key day with DH. His excitement about outdoors has waned with the arrival of heavy rain.
