Curry I hope you do not mind?
I put the last message in, and didn't find a new thread. Which I found disquiting, so to calm my nerves here goes.

Judashascomeintosomemoney have you not got the instructions for the oven somewhere?
In our house all instructions are in plastic sleeves in one of two ring binders ; instructions a-m and instructions n-z. Courtesy of my DH who is - well - organised as fuck.
Unlike myself.

Spudlet · 06/10/2020 11:46

DS went to school without protest this morning, mainly because we brought his uniform downstairs so he could get dressed while playing with his loop the loop car thingy. He has forest school this afternoon - I do hope he wears his waterproof trousers, or I will be collecting a very soggy child come 3pm.

I have a sinus headache so I’ve done some yoga, run the hoover around and done a load of laundry, but that’s it for me. No more productiveness until my head stops feeling like it’s about to explode.

QuestionableMouse · 06/10/2020 11:48

I offered to cover a shift today and now I've come down with a serious case of can't be arseditis. Really need to shift myself but I'd much rather curl up on the sofa. 🤔😕

My shopping came, minus my cat's nice duck treats. I've got some left but the supply is running low 😂

Also having a row with my mum over cleaning. I know she's wrong, but she thinks I am 😂

BillywigSting · 06/10/2020 12:11

I have to go into work on my day off for my covid test (nursing home). Again. For the 7th week in a row. I'm not best pleased.

I need to check the rota anyway so I suppose it's not all bad.

Need to also get some food shopping in. I hate food shopping so I'm going to treat myself to a nice coffee and maybe a teacake from the coffee shop first.

I have absolutely no idea whatsoever what to make for dinner.

Champagneforeveryone · 06/10/2020 13:10

Our holiday refund has not happened yet again today because "there's a problem with the bank account details"

So now I need to call the helpful people who do the refunds again Hmm

As a company they are well respected and we've overall been treated well, so I'm not worried the money is never coming back. OTOH, it's been a little like an episode of The Crystal Maze to get this far.

HawDere · 06/10/2020 13:11

I'm tidying my inbox

SallySeven · 06/10/2020 13:12

My oven light is broken and the website says spares are no longer available.
It's going to be dark forever.

FawnDrench · 06/10/2020 13:24

One of my emails hasn't yet been downloaded from the server.

I am, of course, utterly heartbroken at this unexpected and disastrous catastrophe.

But I shall have a nice cup of tea, and all will be well.

longtompot · 06/10/2020 13:27

A bit too exciting for this thread, so expecting my ban in the post, but whilst hoovering the living room, I wasn't paying attention to the other end of the hose, and managed to hoover up a cat poo from the litter tray. Envy < not envy
Never thought I'd have to wash my hoover hose (which you are meant to do monthly according to my google search).

SallySeven · 06/10/2020 13:32

Goodness the list of things to wash would be endless if you took notice of them all.

longtompot · 06/10/2020 13:36

I know! I was just shocked at the suggestion.

We need to repair our guttering, my husband thinks we should ask neighbour for half the cost, I can see it's all on our side so I won't be asking her for anything. Any way, I've got the exciting job of showing him he's wrong later, sometimes I think he's just being awkward for the sake of it.

Squirrel26 · 06/10/2020 14:07

I did not know that washing a hoover hose was a thing people did (occasional accidents like hoovering up cat poo aside).

I did change the bag in my hoover yesterday. Now it hoovers better.

billydilly · 06/10/2020 14:15

Managed to cut out some knots in my cats arse fur. He's much happier now

We were late getting up (8.50!) as we had a power cut last night , so not only did the alarms go off , no one’s mobile charged either. Not helpful when car is being picked up for a service at 9am . So hauled DC’s into car at 9.05 praying they’d be late . Got back at 9.30 just as they arrived . Sat down for first cup of tea for day - when farrier arrives. Spend next 30 mins wrangling pony who doesn’t want her feet trimmed , whilst getting local gossip, wave him goodbye , put kettle on again, when see strange man walking past kitchen window - oil delivery . Next 30 mins spent getting lecture on oil tank security . Put kettle on again, door bell goes . Someone asking if I’ve lost a dog whilst clinging onto very muddy Labrador . Not mine , but is neighbours , who has gone out . So I lock him in my barn to keep him safe and tell the neighbour to collect him . Put tea in travel cup , and took dog out for walk that turned into a 6 mile route march . Am knackered now .

sueelleker · 06/10/2020 14:29

billydilly; he's gorgeous. If you want to re-home him I'm available!

Imissmoominmama · 06/10/2020 15:13

I was clearing out my store cupboard and dropped an open, but full, pack of reindeer head shaped pasta.

I’m going to make thumbprint and pasta shape reindeer Christmas cards with the young lady I am a PA to, I think...

boatyardblues · 06/10/2020 15:37

I don’t even have a horse, but now I want to book a farrier to get all the local gossip. I doubt there’s much call for one in an urban area. 😕

Paranoidmarvin · 06/10/2020 15:48

Spent the day looking after puppies. It’s been a great day

plominoagain · 06/10/2020 15:49

Boatyard He’s also my next door neighbour who shoes all the horses in my village - and that’s almost everyone , so he knows lots ! Who’s sold their house, how much for , who’s fallen out with who and what about - he’s a mine of information. He used to shoe for the Household Cavalry so he listens lots but talks little - except to me ..

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 06/10/2020 16:10

There is still some cheesecake left.
DH remembers the cheesecake of his youth to be thicker of cheese, I suggested he only was smaller then. And no, as his DM typed the recipe for us, we did not leave sth out.

I just got back from the infusion clinic. I have to go every 8 weeks to get medication for a chronic condition. It's not where I work, thank goodness. The needle stick wasn't bad today. I'll work from home for the rest of the day.

Soup for lunch I think.

Helocariad · 06/10/2020 16:45

@MissConductUS hope you're ok. Soup for lunch sounds like the right thing for these autumn days!

I'm about to start frying halloumi- food of the gods! Dinner will be halloumi cubes with pasta, mediterranean vegetables, passata and herbs.

I'm looking for a good series to watch with DH once the children are in bed. Can't seem to find anything on Amazon Prime and we don't have Netflix.

Squirrel26 · 06/10/2020 16:47

My mum made a flat cheesecake once. She forgot to put in the gelatine, then added it at the end. That does not work (top cheesecake tip).

Looking at hoover accessories and wondering if I need an upholstery tool with a swivel head.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 06/10/2020 17:17

Gelatine in a cheesecake is new to me ...none of my recipes demand that. I asked his cousin - his DM usually doubled the amount of filling - but I won't tell DH and continue to insist that he simply was smaller Grin.
