Curry I hope you do not mind?
I put the last message in, and didn't find a new thread. Which I found disquiting, so to calm my nerves here goes.

@Sunbird24

Sainsbury’s is all out of carrot batons again so I don’t know what to dip in my hummus
Ritz crackers, Doritos - those are our usual go-tos.
MissConductUS · 03/10/2020 18:33

And this is Sev when he was a kitten of 12 weeks.

He's a handsome boy and he and Mingus could be brothers. But Mingus has no white on his paws, as you can see in the picture. That's his sister, Autumn, who crossed the rainbow bridge a few years ago.

DH has just blown the leaves off the driveway and deck, which makes the cats happy as they hate stepping on the leaves when they go out to inspect the deck.

I'm having a cuppa and eating custard creams. I'm full of cold so allowing myself a few extra Smile

SilkieChickens · 03/10/2020 19:02

Beautiful cat pictures!

DD has been out with a friend all afternoon and DH is fetching her back shortly.

DH went to get more chicken food. DS is obsessed with Trump having covid.

Not done much today as feel really dizzy. About to have apple crumble and custard. Asked DS if he wanted some and he said maybe but no apples. I said why and he grabbed his stomach. DH said he bought 6 apples earlier today and DS ate them all.

bearlyactive · 03/10/2020 19:07

Just had leftover spaghetti for dinner, with a tiny bit of scrambled eggs and a hash brown (weird, I know). Now playing with DCat!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 03/10/2020 19:34

Mingus is really a beautiful cat! (So is Autumn, of course Smile)

The contents of DH office/study starts to swamp the rest of the household. I found stuff of his in small piles on a desk and on two shelves. Aparently they wait to be 'collected' or 'send by post'. Hah!

My cat is sitting on my lap. He’s lovely and warm, which is good because I was outside all afternoon and I got quite cold.

ladygracie · 03/10/2020 20:45

@FartingNora I think animal shelters take duvets for bedding if you want to get rid of it.

Frownette · 03/10/2020 21:04

It really IS cold today, I'm going to investigate the heating in a sec, only moved a few months ago when it was sweltering.

Badhairday101 · 03/10/2020 21:04

I have cleaned my oven tonight!

MissConductUS · 03/10/2020 23:20

DH is doing burgers and teriyaki chicken breasts on the grill. I've made an apple pie with crumb topping to pop in the oven after dinner (this is the unbaked stage). It's my first fall pie and the apples are from a local orchard.

I'm having sock problems. My right sock keeps rotating on the foot (right foot) until it's upside down. It really matters because I've picked nice warm walking socks today, with the underside is noticeably thinker than the top, so sock rotational issues matter.

Spudlet · 04/10/2020 07:52

Up with DS while DH has a lie in. He is now coming down with The Cold, while I am starting to feel a bit more human. That said, I also got up first yesterday when I was definitely not feeling human, so I do feel a tiny bit resentful of this...!

Considering whether to bake banana bread for DS’s lunchbox today.

Frownette · 04/10/2020 08:11

I've been to newsagents, made myself a lovely coffee and sat outside, now I need the loo which is upstairs.

I can't do housework until 10am.

sueelleker · 04/10/2020 08:13

Mysterian; are the socks foot-specific? You could try them the other way round, and at least you'd know whether it's the sock or your foot that's the problem.

SilkieChickens · 04/10/2020 08:17

DS came in screaming at 7am after going to give his silkie chickens food. Was quite worried but apparently it was just as another animal knocked over the chicken food box.

DH wasn't too impressed as the cat howled for an hour between 3am and 4am as she wanted a cuddle from DH downstairs as she couldn't be bothered to walk upstairs. He had just come back from her 2.55am demands for food and water. He gave in at 4am.

SpeedofaSloth · 04/10/2020 08:28

I am having a cup of coffee in bed. Today is the day that DS finally assembles the Big History Project, I fear I might need a lot more coffee and then possibly a stiff drink around 7pm to get over it all.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 04/10/2020 08:41

10° outside but sunny.
I just closed all the windows after airing the flat using the 'complicated hinge mechanism' that was mentioned in a Guardian article cited in another thread.
Now I will take down the dry towels and fold them back into their cupboard.

Feeling your pain, we have a science project to tackle this morning and I'm going to need a lot more coffee before we do the experiment parts.
Mysterian · 04/10/2020 09:56

@sueelleker My socks are not foot specific. (Whatever happened to socks with toes? They were sold as 'The Future' when I was younger. They were on a par with jet packs and video phones.) I have the same socks on today (They're still fairly clean. I've not soiled them particularly, and it's not like I'm visiting the Queen later in one of her 'shoes off' palaces.). I'll see what happens but I'm not sure if yesterday's right sock has returned to it's familiar foot. Much like a trip to Nandos, I'll hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 04/10/2020 10:04

My socks do this to me when they are slightly to big for my feet and the shoe is to smooth inside.
You can still get socks with toes and even shoes

DH just accidently shaved half of his head bald.

Frownette · 04/10/2020 10:09

@Prokupatuscrakedatus what was he getting overenthusiastic with the clippers??

I can't be bothered to start the vacuuming yet :(

giletrouge · 04/10/2020 10:19

DH just accidently shaved half of his head bald. He'd best do the other half.

My own DH has just come in and distracted me writing this with the news that he's going to put his walking boots on because he's going for a local walk, but will have to go into the co-op in his walking boots, because he needs to...(I tuned out).
I, on the other hand, am still in my dressing gown. Walking boots are not being donned by me today. Oh no. Possibly not again this year, frankly.

giletrouge · 04/10/2020 10:21

Frownette I've not been able to start the vacuuming for - ahem - quite a long time. It's a massive case of can't be arsed-ness.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 04/10/2020 10:28

Frownette and giletrouge
He wanted a level 2 all around and somehow forgot to put the distancer on and just started. It's irregular all over.
We have decided to wait 4 days and then even everything out. He has to speak in public on the 10th.
