Curry I hope you do not mind?
I put the last message in, and didn't find a new thread. Which I found disquiting, so to calm my nerves here goes.

Our cat has got more demanding with age and since lockdown started she expects service 24/7 from her preferred staff which is DH and DD. Though if they are out and DS goes to the bathroom she howls the entire time as she's cross at him for leaving her.

Just had frosties and last antibiotic. Finally finished them. Send form back to school. DS woke up growling so good luck to school with him though was giggly by the time he left.

MrsWooster · 01/10/2020 10:08

I’m taking the boys bike to the mender man today because it has a clingy pedal. He (boy, not mender man) is doing his Bikeability course at school next week so will learn to ride on the road. I hope he will actually listen to the training person, since he ignores my banshee wails as he blithely cycles down the middle of the road.

Cindersincyberlockdown · 01/10/2020 11:03

I have a cold and I'm eating lots of brownies
Have now made cheesy moon biscuits

And taken a very long haired collie on a little walk

MutteringDarkly · 01/10/2020 11:10

I need to buy another school cardigan because DD is looking rather forlorn with most of her arms sticking out beyond the sleeves.

FawnDrench · 01/10/2020 12:42

Had a sandwich earlier. It was okay.

The sun has just come out.

Won't be restocking our pasta supply as we have sufficient for our needs.

forgetthehousework · 01/10/2020 12:53

My feet are cold.
Perhaps if I stopped sitting on the sofa and got up and did some work they would warm up a bit.
Or I could just put on some socks.
Hhmmm - socks it is then.

HeyLala · 01/10/2020 12:59

@forgetthehousework

I have a full fleece teddy bear bed set from M&S. Bought one for my daughter at uni as well. It's like sleeping in the clouds. Fabulous

Thanks @HeyLala, that sounds wonderful so I will definitely have to get some.

Back from my 'foot appointment' - got a compliment for having taken good care of my feet, I can plan the operation for next year, it will be paid for by regular health insurance and what causes the pain is sth unrelated and not dangrous or damaging. I can cope with that.
So all fine an relaxed.

I bought chocolate and socks.

I have holes in my tights
They are far to fine
Think I need socks

RepeatSwan · 01/10/2020 16:08

I'm excited as have been to the shops and stocked up on condiments, garlic bread and veggie sausage rolls. We've eaten better during lockdown and I realised I was craving some good old beige food so having that for tea tomorrow.

Champagneforeveryone · 01/10/2020 17:24

I was due a refund for our holiday today. The card I paid on has expired though so they have been unable to process it Hmm

Nydj · 01/10/2020 17:28

My cold is better today or do I mean that it was worse because I feel better - words can be difficult for me.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 01/10/2020 17:35

Nydj It's nice that you feel for your cold, after all it's just doing its job.

I wanted to make Kısır but we don't have carrots.

Good news from the States - we had Texmex takeaway last night, so after a lovely walk outside on my lunch break, I'm having a leftover crispy steak taco for lunch. Delicious. On for dinner (tea? supper?) tonight is pasta with Italian meatballs from Uncle Guiseppe's. DD, always a picky eater, will have to have something else.

Can the collective hivemind of MN please explain the difference betwen tea and dinner? Mr Google is unenlightening on this, but he's from California. Grin

ScarMatty · 01/10/2020 17:57

I found some glasses wipes and cleaned my glasses.

Everything looks so good.

KoalaandRabbit · 01/10/2020 18:01

Tea is a regional thing - its a name for the evening meal if you live in the North of England / Midlands, Wales and Scotland - in the south of England its called dinner.

Confusingly the first areas call the midday meal dinner and southerners call it lunch.

There's also afternoon tea which is different again, normally taken for special occassions rather than everyday which has sandwiches (traditionally egg and cress, cucumber, smoked salmon etc), tea the drink and cream scones and jam, sometimes other cakes like Victoria sponge. Or champagne if you want it extra special.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 01/10/2020 18:10

Koala Those are terms I try to avoid, because I always get them wrong and they don't translate to what I want to say and I get muddled.

So we just had evening meal (tea (drink), bread, butter, tomatoes/ruccola and cheese)

@Nydj My cold is in the full blown stinker stage, hoping it will start to ease off tomorrow as right now I feel crummy!

mathanxiety · 01/10/2020 18:18

The heat in my building got turned on last night. Now I can move my radiator on wheels out of my bedroom and into the bathroom where the cat can take full advantage of it.

We had homemade chicken stew with dumplings last night. 'Dumpling' is one of those perfect nouns that fully conveys the essence of the food it labels.

NancyBotwinBloom · 01/10/2020 18:29

I tried to catch one of my cats in a towel to do his flea treatment and make him eat the worming tablet.

He scratched me, then stood in front of me miaowing really loudly like he was arguing with me then ran off.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 01/10/2020 18:38

That's you being told off. Our late Sev was very nice about vets and medactions and treatments. On the other hand he actively hunted for cables even in handbags and then killed them.

@MissConductUS, You seem to have a version of Caputo's there...

SallySeven good to hear you’re enjoying All Creatures Great and Small too.
I love the new Tristan and Siegfried but I’m still undecided on the updated James.

In other news, we had the most beautiful rainbow here this evening which has lifted the spirits.

KoalaandRabbit · 01/10/2020 18:54

Just getting a meal from our village chinese which also does fish and chips / curry. My eating is still bizarre so I'm getting scampi and seaweed. Hmm DD is having half the menu and DS is having sausage and chips. DH just takes bits of everyones.
