Just trying to live a meaningful life in an increasingly bizarre world in which nothing makes sense any more.

Lockdown has been bad for my pelvic floor, it only managed 3 floors in the elevator exercise yesterday. I say 3, more like 2 and a mezzanine...

I’m a fat cow just now but pretty ok with pelvic floor, particularly as my child was gigantic. Though that was twelve years ago.

WalesAppearsToBeSlightlySaner · 25/09/2020 20:03

I think my coil may have dropped down too low again. I'm getting some very weird pains. I don't think pelvic floor exercises would help but I do think should probably see if the nurse can see me!

WalesAppearsToBeSlightlySaner · 25/09/2020 20:06

@BogRollBOGOF - I think mine prefers bungalow living!

JamSarnie · 25/09/2020 20:10

I had the opposite problem today. Needed a pee out in the countryside but just couldn't start to 'go' HmmGrin

Asda mask row: Man with dementia 'told to leave shop'
By Greig Watson

A woman has said she was shocked at being told to leave an Asda supermarket because her partner, who has dementia, was not wearing a mask.
Amanda Jeffrey said she was immediately challenged when the couple went into her local branch.
Staff refused to accept a "hidden disability" card carried by the couple and ordered them out of the shop.
Asda has apologised to the couple and promised they will not be challenged again.

Asda recently announced it would enforce rules on face coverings more strictly.
Mrs Jeffrey said she went into her local branch in Arnold, Nottinghamshire, on Thursday morning with her partner, Aubrey Green.
She said: "I've been getting treatment for cancer and Aubrey was diagnosed with dementia last year, so I've been sheltering.
"But we have been out a few times and not had a problem before.
"But as soon as we went through the doors a member of staff shouted over: 'Why aren't you wearing a mask?

"I was so surprised I thought they were talking to someone else.
"Once I realised it was us I said we had a hidden disability card but they said that wasn't accepted and I needed a letter from the GP.
"And all this was shouted over us, not discussed with a bit of basic courtesy".

The couple left but Mrs Jeffrey said their treatment had a disturbing effect.
"I was shocked but Aubrey was left confused and agitated.
"He couldn't understand what we had done wrong and was really upset."
In a statement Asda said its staff "are fully trained to follow the latest government guidance".
"[They] will politely ask all customers to wear a face covering, unless they have a reason not to," a spokesman said.
"Clearly we got it wrong on this occasion and we have spoken to Ms Jeffrey to apologise for her experience.

Weirdly, my pelvic floor seems to clench and exercise itself these days. I'm not sure if its a side-effect of HRT or just a spreading of my restless leg syndrome. Confused

Any exercise is good, spontaneous or not!
CruCru · 25/09/2020 20:36

I’m quite lazy about exercise but I am good at doing my pelvic floor exercises. The nurse who put in my coil said I had very strong muscles (basically I involuntarily pushed out the speculum).

That is so terrible.....I don't even know where to begin.
Willow2017 · 25/09/2020 20:41

Hipe they give them a fuckton of free shopping. Covid is no excuse for those staffs behaviour anyway. Hope they get hauled over the coals for it.

Ooh i.love stationary. I.got a lovely diary and some coloured pens to use for me and kids this year...has fuck all in it now! Have notebooks for every occasion! I have to make a point of staying away from.stationary shops🤣
Well my long weekend just went tits up and my work night out. Good job I got extra shopping in as i didnt intend to go to a shop for 4 days! Self isolation here i come, not me, cos of someone else.😞
Hi to new folks. Sorry about your relative Rosie that's damm harsh.

Taswama · 25/09/2020 20:52

Thanks for the reminder to do my pelvic floor. First time in ages!

Reedwarbler · 25/09/2020 21:24

That Asda story is terrible. That poor old man. My fil has got dementia, I think he would just sit and cry if someone shouted at him. How can people be so thoughtless? Trouble is, you get tin pot Hitler types going for these jobs, who love to throw their weight about a bit.
In my desperation to avoid covid related stuff on the tv, I nearly did myself a mischief earlier grabbing for the remote when a public information film came on about that bloody app. Aargh, you just can't escape it, can you? Leave me alone!

Evenstar · 25/09/2020 21:30

I think I will be avoiding our local ASDA ☹️ I have a sunflower lanyard and mask exemption card and thought the main supermarkets were safe to go to.

WouldBeGood · 25/09/2020 21:36

I’ve been doing click and collect, which is great

SirSamuelVimes · 25/09/2020 21:41

Stop watching live TV. I'm pretty much only watching Netflix these days, in no small part to avoid the Covid doom mongering and the simpering "stay safe!" shite. There's no Corona virus in Friends! 90s New York is the place to be!

Evenstar · 25/09/2020 21:45

I usually do a delivery or click and collect @WouldBeGood but sometimes you do need a few items in between. It is nice to get out of the house sometimes too, I walk my dogs every day, but I miss a little mooch round the shops, I don’t feel comfortable to go in any except for essentials now.

Wanderings · 25/09/2020 21:50

Had church choir practice tonight: being able to do so is a privilege at a time when such ordinary activities can be snatched away by Saint Boris 😇 🤡 at any moment. We usually have a prayer at the beginning; and during this, I actually got up and left the room. Why? Because it was about Covid, Covid, Covid. Everywhere we go it’s bloody Covid all the time. I can’t even watch YouTube without some masked crusader popping up in an advert.

DorsetBlueMovie · 25/09/2020 21:56

Argh!!! DD's sleep has gone to SHIT again. I'm so bloody broken. DH gets to slink off to the spare room and I've got a toddler sized baby in my bed clawing at me. Fucking hell!!!!

DorsetBlueMovie · 25/09/2020 21:57
WouldBeGood · 25/09/2020 21:59

@Evenstar I really miss a mooch around and shopping shopping. I pop on for essential top ups but that’s it. It’s so depressing.

DominaShantotto · 25/09/2020 21:59

I tend to avoid Asda as a general rule apart from click and collect clothes... our local one is a shithole and people so arsey that two of them were backing out of parking spaces either side of each other - neither would let the other one go first - and they just reversed into each other last time I was there.

Arsehole neighbour appears to be having a party tonight - he's such a fuckwit - hates women unless they bow down and he can lecture them with his manly wisdom. He's playing shit music and fucking whistling - I hate whistling.

@wanderings Point out to them they're supposed to believe in heaven? (And I say this as a Christian myself.)

I do my pelvic floor exercises - hoping vaguely it might help with birth. Would also help if there was any chance of hospital letting DH in for the whole thing, mind. Am considering home birth, though I don't really want one. What kind of messed up medical system makes you choose between easy access to emergency medical care and having baby's dad (or of course someone else) there to support you?!
