I am very bored of our weekly shop and would like to try some new things. (I blame cooking endless bloody meals in lockdown!)
What interesting things do you buy Sainsbury’s? Or even more generally, what new foods have you recently discovered?
I order online so find it hard to just “browse”.

Blueberry cheesecake.

AlwaysLatte · 28/09/2020 23:06

Their House Blend ground coffee is seriously good. People always ask what it is!

JaniceBattersby · 28/09/2020 23:07

Their own brand Tiramisu. Absolutely gorgeous.

All their own brand ice lollies and fake Cornettos. Mostly better than the originals.

Malibu pina colada in a can.

Gotthetshirt23 · 28/09/2020 23:14

I miss Sainsburys, the nearest is tiny but making notes on all the things I'm fancying for when I next get to shop in a decent one .
Great shroom dogs - and I'm a meat eater
Great deal on gin - esp Gunpowder Grin

Wish they'd bring back mignons morceaux !

TooTrusting · 28/09/2020 23:20

The Keralan curry paste is absolutely gorgeous. Just add a tin of coconut milk and whatever meat/prawns and veg you fancy.

olderthanyouthink · 28/09/2020 23:20

Chilli and tomato chutney

chocolatespiders · 28/09/2020 23:24

Gin with rhubarb and ginger in a can.

EasilyDeleted · 28/09/2020 23:27

My click and collect list is going to be massive this week Shock.

Ours quite frequently has Staffordshire oatcakes which is nice as we live 150 miles away from Staffs.

Houseplantmad · 28/09/2020 23:35

Rosemary crackers. Yum!

pinkpetal2 · 28/09/2020 23:38

Their chocolate cake think it's around £2.75 it's amazing.
Also I love their Cous cous it's in the fridge aisle in a pot £1.50 it's not to tangy tasting and really nice.

InglouriousBasterd · 28/09/2020 23:44

DD loves the lemon and coriander cous cous in the individual packs

I love the mixed bean (tinned) salad

The butternut squash croquettes are lovely as are the mozzarella bites

Their authentic Greek yoghurt is just as good as fage

cariaaad · 29/09/2020 00:04

Giant cous cous in a packet. Much better than the un-giant stuff! Cheap too.

Ricepops · 29/09/2020 00:09

They sell a box of Borders biscuits with several different flavours in which is reasonably priced and very good.

PajamasnoDramas · 29/09/2020 00:15

Dry black olives, cashew blue cheese, butter chicken, house moltepulciano and rose and pomegranate gin would be going on my list. Should pop in soon really, I love the sound of the frozen cherries and butternut squash croquettes.

PajamasnoDramas · 29/09/2020 00:16

Cashel blue cheese - no nuts involved as far as I can tell

skankingpiglet · 29/09/2020 00:28

The taste the difference kalamata olive bread. The one with the pointy ends, not the pavé. I always toast it then add butter with hummus or cheese
Olives are one of the few things my DCs don't like, but they (unfortunately) love this olive bread. I got away with a good few months before they tried it and discovered they liked it though...

KoalaandRabbit · 29/09/2020 01:48

TTD stilton

PattyPan · 29/09/2020 03:08

Fresh pineapple juice
Moroccan vegbabs
Indian lentil burgers
Dairy free ice cream, especially the vanilla one
Wholewheat tagliatelle
Brown basmati rice
They also used to do tinned apple slices which weren’t in juice/syrup but I haven’t been able to get them since lockdown. A good store cupboard standby for whipping up an impromptu crumble Grin

I also have some Lego cards I am happy to post out as don’t have DC!

Poppins2016 · 29/09/2020 03:18

Chorizo slices.
Oatmeal and raisin cookies.

Not own brand but I can only find it in Sainsburys - Sabra houmous (garlic and red pepper is my favourite).

pinkpetal2 · 29/09/2020 07:58

I really love their mini corn on the cobs in the frozen area too

cardoon · 30/09/2020 12:16

On the strength of this thread I have placed my first home delivery order!
Complete with many of the suggestions - most looking forward to the Ecclefechan pies Grin

EerilyDeleted · 04/10/2020 20:03

Well, I took delivery of breakfast slice (certainly did take me back to childhood), butternut squash croquettes (delicious) and Leon waffle fries (not tried yet) yesterday.

I will wait till a bit nearer Christmas for the Ecclefechan pies Grin

Thanks to everyone that posted.

PlaidMaid · 04/10/2020 20:20

I love the salmon, spinach and cheddar en croute. Literally my favourite tea (worth the many calories). The garlic bread is also the best of any supermarket IMO. The garlic and herb croutons, sourdough farmhouse loaf, raisin whirls and salted caramel and chocolate pancakes also good 😋

EerilyDeleted · 04/10/2020 20:33

The salmon en croute is a regular here, bought one of those yesterday too.

Tootletum · 04/10/2020 20:36

The frozen pain au chocolat And croissants. They are frozen before cooking so you stick them in the oven for 30 mins and they're as fresh as a French bakery.
